I've been taking my car to Sunset Automotive for years and I've never been disappointed. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and they've went above and beyond to make sure my car was running smoothly. I highly recommend this shop to anyone in need of quality auto-repair services!

My first two experiences with this shop were good. My next two were terrible. I specifically asked to know what the tapping noise in my truck was. Got a generic answer. The truck was running good for its age and mileage. The owner was not there so that I could address why I got that generic answer and not the answer I was looking for. I then Scheduled for a specific time to meet with owner to discuss more work on my truck and he was not there when I arrived. I was told he was coming in an hour later. No one called me to let me know. Unprofessional and a total waste of my time.Service: General repairs & maintenance

They are the BEST CAR SHOP I HAVE EVEN BEEN TOO. I've been going tothem for 3 years. Dave is AWESOME the owners are GREAT! They are HONEST no scamming they go over and beyond to make sure your a satisfied customer. I can call and ask help on a issue. They are definitely my car advisor. They even offered me support in buying a new car. I'll never leave them..

My family has been bringing our automobiles to sunset for over 30 years now. They are honest and would never charge you for anything that you don't need. They look at ur car, access the problem, & then talk to you before they do any work. I'm really happy with them as I got my issue resolved. I was a little nervous as I had never been here before but was referred to them by Ralph's Transmission. They were very nice over the phone so I thought that was a good sign. After dropping off my car they called me a couple of hours later to tell me the issue was just a spark plug and I had the work completed by the end of that day. Compared with the dealership telling me I needed a new transmission, I'd say Sunset was very honest and ethical. Not only did they NOT rip me off, they resolved what I thought was going to be a major issue for a great price. Thank you!

Sunset Automotive have the most professional and at the same time the kindest people. It is a family owned business. They are very fair and honest. I have been going there over 25 years. They have been very accommodating to our cars needs. We ve brought 3 different cars there in the last 5ish Years. They work with us to save money and not overcharge us. They make sure to do the job right the first time, and not replace unnecessary parts. Sometimes it takes a while to get a car back, but from what I ve seen it s because they areA. BusyB. Do a very thorough job.They are closed Saturdays but Tay was busy doing stuff that day running from home to the shop. He was so awesome at picking me up from the gym so I could get my car.My Subaru needed the valve body replaced, we probably could have figured it out on our own but it would have taken longer. Also we were a little hesitant on doing it on our own because this part is connected to the transmission. I m glad we went with them because they brought my car to their buddy s transmission shop before replacing the part. They wanted to make sure this part going out didn t damage my transmission. Good news it didn t but I m glad they checked it. They price of the part was the same price we had researched before bringing it in. Everything they said was exactly what we had researched on our own. They didn t try and make us fix things that didn t need fixing, they didn t over charge. I highly recommend them. I will continue to bring our vehicles there, and tell friends and family to bring their cars there. They are very friendly and if you like text updates, they can definitely do that!! They also smog vehicles if you need your car smogged :)

I bought a truck from them a month ago and was told it had been gone thru and repaired and i would have no issues it has since blown a head gasket and do to this i lost my job. When i called mike back and told him about it i was told to call back later. The atitude was call me back later maybe we will get to you if i have time. The truck was given to them by the previous oener and they sold it to me saying it was fixed so essentialy i paid what was owed them for the labor so they could recoup their bill to the previous owner who didnt pay it and just gave them the truck now they wont warranty the work ive read all the reviews that this is a reputable company but so far they havent helped me a biy

I worked here for a number of years when I was first becoming a technician. I was always impressed with both the quality of work and the way customers and employees were treated like family. Great work, great prices and great people.

Really friendly staff and they tell you what you need and price things very accordingly and fair. A true honest auto mechanic shop in this town. Plus they have a shuttle!

Always finds ways to take care of the customer. This is the only shop I 100% know will tell me whats really going on with my car and suggest solutions, not just upsell services.Excellent customer service

UPDATE:THEY ARE GREAT TOOK THE CAR IN EVEN AFTER WARRANTY WAS UP FOR A YEAR FIXED IT AND ONLY CHARGED HALF. GOOD WORK GREAT PEOPLE. THEY WITHSTAND THE TEST 5 STARS.NOW WE WILL SEE! HAVE A PROBLEM WITH TIMING BELT TENSIONER. SHOULD HAVE LASTED 60K. ITS BEEN 25K THEY GUARANTEE 12 MO OR 12K. BUT EARLY FAILURE IS DUE TO MISS ADJUSTMENT OFF TENSIONER.....WILL POST THERE ANSWER....I am a car guy and no one has ever worked on my cars in 65 years but me. I was worried so I checked out every 5 star shop in town.This shop has professional people, Friendly, knowledgeable, trustworthy with ethics. Car was ready on time and bill was less than quoted. Did not try to sell me a bunch of unnecessary parts just because they were going to have it opened up, as all the other shops did. Only replaced necessary parts and when we picked it up showed me all the old parts and then throw them out. It was Good Friday and we were late due to traffic and they waited and the check out was not rushed. Went over bill, parts and the car.I don't give 5 stars unless they really earn it, and they did. Have been going to this shop since they were at 9th St. Very honest and reputable shop. Unlike service reps that try to talk you into services that you might not need to get a greater commission.
