I highly recommend this smog shop! Very honest, professional, friendly, and knowledgeable! Very reasonable price. Works with your schedule. Opens at 8 am! Regular smogs and Star test smogs!Doesn't change the price on you! As long as he is in operation, I will only be going here.

Truly a great experience! They fixed my gas cap and didn't charge me. I was so impressed with their honesty I brought my car in for a time up and oil change and they also fixed my driver's side window that wouldn't roll up. They also fixed my AC. Thank you you did an awesome job and charged less than most places. Talent and integrity are hard to find and Performance smog has both.

Ok, I've reviewed this one before. But he deserves another STELLAR review, because he works hard, is extremely reasonable with his prices; is quick, and just an all around good person.No I'm not a relative or friend. The only time I've ever had the pleasure of conversing with him is when he says, "Your car passed."And then I ask, "So what do I owe you?" : pjus' kidden. The rates are clearly posted on the wall in the office. Not kidding about not being a relative or friend. I think he has higher standards than most : pHit up Performance Smog, for any and all your Smoggish needs. I've brought, probably more than a dozen fam n friends there. They still go, every other year. Why?-great prices-quick service-quality work-super nice guyI highly recommend Performance Smog. (no, I swear under Oath, under penalty of perjury and/ or pain of imprisonment: this review is non-solicited, and I, nor anyone I know or am aware of, are getting a dime or other for this here stellar review. He's just a really good business owner that deserves a great review) :D

Being very picky in who touches my cars, this is the only place a trust for smoging my Mercedes, B.M.W and american made cars. The owner Adam is awesome, very respectful and kind. He is very careful getting in and out of the vehicles, very clean and has never left an oily mess behind. I highly recommend Smog Performance you wont be disappointed.

Being honest and did not charge me because of a visual.Lexus lx470 passed with flying colors. FYI.... today.There something wrong with california laws , there are cars run that run efficiently beyond compliance.But can't pass visual. Bull sh it.

No one likes the smog process. No one. However, this smog shop is a serious cut above the rest in terms of above and beyond customer service to help make a crummy process easier. In my experience, most smog shops won't really engage you or discuss the vehicle they're about to test. They take your keys, grab your vehicle, and take it in back for some black arts/ arcane divination as mandated by the California Ministry of the Dark Arts and Smog Abatement. From there, you are left in the waiting room wondering as to the fate of your vehicle which could pass or fail almost arbitrarily, it seems, at which point you have to then figure out what is ACTUALLY wrong that made you fail. I've found a perfectly functioning vehicle could have any number of different pass/fail results at any number of smog shops. There isn't really a standard, except poor customer service and unnecessary mystery.NOT this shop. Adam takes extra care to involve you in the process, and is as transparent as the day is long when it comes to the test process/ CA law regarding the smog check. He is happy to "Read the Tea Leaves", as it were, and tell you what the DMV printout results actually mean. He can tell you about your vehicle's state of tune on the spot and recommend future maintenance based on the readings he sees. He is kind, courteous, and forthright.I feel as though I should tell you my experience with a particularly difficult case, my 1977 Toyota Pickup. Firstly, only one other shop in town would even LOOK at the truck. Most said "We don't do cars that old" or "It'll never pass, why even try?" when called or visited. This included test AND repair stations. You'd think a repair station would have the ability to help make it pass, or at least tell me where to start? Naw, that'd be too much work on their part. Again, save for one other shop.I called Adam at the recommendation of his next door neighbor Northern Tire (another great Modesto establishment) and he said "Bring it over! Let's take a look! A pre-test will tell you where you stand and what you need to do!" So, I did. And it did. He ran a thorough visual inspection to ensure my little farm truck (Which I literally pulled out of the forest a few months ago after a 25 year slumber) was complete (it wasn't), and hooked it up to the machine after making a few recommendations. He was pretty frank with me and of course, as he told me it would, the truck FAILED smog. However, he prayed unto the Gods of CA Smog (may they be ever feared) and disseminated the printout for me and told me EXACTLY what needed fixed. None of the normal "Eh, if you fix this, it might work, I guess...". He said "Fix THIS. And replace THAT, and you will pass."I did. And it did! The truck PASSED the next day after making the repairs as laid out by Adam. He then read the printout for me again and recommended a bit of carb tuning to increase my fuel mileage and make for a better running truck. I did, and it did. Perfect.The price was right, the service was worth ten times what I paid, and I am a delighted vehicle owner and a lifelong customer of this shop. Give places like this your business! We need to keep them around! Thanks Adam!
