I have been going to Dave at Five Star since I moved to California two years ago. He has always been honest, reasonably priced and quick to fix my car in a quality manner. I recently had a problem with the AC in my car so I brought it to Dave and left it there for repair. He took it in, diagnosed the problem and took a further step to check to see if there was an extended warranty for the AC issue since it would have been a costly repair. There was and he recommended I bring it to the dealership without even a charge to me. He could have easily just fixed the car without checking and I would not have known the difference. An honest and good repair shop is hard to come by. Dave and his team at Five Star Auto are keepers!

David and his team are amazing. I and my family have been going to him for over 30 years. They are quick and efficient, and the cost is always more than fair, often far less than you would pay anywhere else. I would not consider going anywhere else!

Dave is a truly master of his craft and an honest mechanic. He was patient and extremely thorough when diagnosing my truck and advising me on all the issues as well as the steps needed to get it running properly again. His communication was top tier, every step of the way. Dave went above and beyond to ensure everything was up to his standard of perfection when completing the repairs. Dave is the best there is! I was traumatized by all my negative experiences with dealership service centers and random auto shops. Someone recommended him to me at a point when I felt helpless because dealerships were about to charge me insane amounts for necessary repairs and unnecessary maintenance, for not the best work quality (I can tell by how my car runs afterwards).So to Dave I went. He charged me reasonably AND EVEN GAVE ME OPTIONS on certain repairs if I can't afford the more permanent one. But don't worry, he'll tell you and and ask how you'd like to proceed. When I got my car back, it ran so much smoother than when I used to get it back elsewhere! I had alot more positive experience but this review is getting long.Highly recommend you go here if you want someone trustworthy to take care of your car....Tldr; Got screwed elsewhere, found Dave. Dave's prices and services were reasonable and top notch. Def go here

My family and I have been going to Dave's Five Star Automotive for over 20 years. This is because Dave is one of the most honest and kind people we know. He also happens to be a top rate mechanic and has never recommended anything our vehicles didn't need and is always trying to help us save money by giving us honest feedback about the current state of our cars and trucks. If Dave can't get it done he knows the best people in the industry to recommend you to. There is absolutely no reason you should go anywhere else first whether it's an oil change, brake change, or engine work, Dave is the best guy for the job. Hands down.

Been a while since I've had to get work done. Glad to hear Dave is still running the show. You want a mechanic you can trust...I'm talking about competence AND ethics here... take it to Five-Star and you won't have to second-guess their recommendations.

As always Dave at 5 Star Automotive is always fast, fair, friendly and knowledgeable. I went to his shop thinking my car needed two different items and he researched my second item and said it was not necessary.Been going to 5 Star for years and always get 5 star service.

Dave is excellent, honest and does great work with competitive prices. He has done significant work on many of my vehicles from minor to major - (transmission replacement) weird electrical stuff - phantom works then does not - sorting that out.I have used him for EPA sensor work, brakes, steering box replacement, transmission replacement (factory warranted as well), tuneups, oil / misc leak detection & correction, etc etc.He is fast and communicates well and helps to weigh out costs vs turn around time if you need the vehicle, etc. I highly recommend dave for your service needs!I have been using Dave for 6+ years now and recommended his work to friends and all have been pleased.

My family has been coming to Dave for a long time now. I recommend him to anyone who asks for a good and honest mechanic. He doesn t upsell you and tell you exactly what you need done, and will wait before starting to make sure he s doing what you want done. 12/10

Excellent service! Last of a dying breed. Dave is one of the most honest people I have met. Tells you whats wrong and gives you a fair price. My family and I have been coming here for years. Hands down a GREAT mechanic!

Saved me a bunch of money taking my car here compared with the service department of a Honda Dealership. Five star service. If you are looking for great mechanical automotive work on your car from an honest small business at great prices bring your car here. Worth every penny.
