My daughter needed her brakes to be replaced. Called a few places but finally spoke to Alex at Car Doctor and he gave me a sweet price. Sent me daughter in dropped it off. She gets a call from Alex saying her vehicle is ready expeditiously. He replaced her back brakes and told her front brakes were good. Dropped the price of course. What was so amazing in such a dog eat dog world was that he was honest also vehicle is braking as it should. This place has integrity when very few shops don t. This place deserves a spotlight, thanks Alex

I had a great first experience with this place! My car was vibrating at highway speeds so I brought it here. They test drove and then inspected the car and found the problem right away. They provided a fair quote, were able to fix it the very next day, and even threw in a few push fasteners that were missing from one of the other wheel wells for free. Thanks Car Doctor!

Charged $180 for a diagnosis then quoted me another $100 to replace the gas cap I m sure they know what they are doing repair wise.. but charging folks this much for something that easy (literally no mechanical work) speaks to the type of garage this is I doubt I ll be going back for anything in the future.Customers beware of price gouging. Cheers!

I have trusted Alex with my personal vehicles for 3 years. He is honest, a straight shooter and gets the job done. I trusted him so much I would drive 30 mins to him instead of going to the mechanic 1 block away from where I lived. Alex has been taking care of my Mustang, my son's BMW and now the Fit, a training vehicle for Ride-On Driving School. Always thorough, knowledgeable and good pricing! Saves us tons in maintenance and repair costs!

Alex and his crew are the absolute best. I lived in Oakland, but still travelled to The Car Doctor for all my car needs. The shop knew my car by name and I felt like part of the family there. They have the BEST prices and the most caring team. They have helped me with immediate/urgent problems, and they ve also helped me with less critical cosmetic issues on my truck. And of course they were always there for regular oil changes and new tires when the time came. I recently moved and leaving Alex was one of the saddest parts of the process. I have yet to find a mechanic as intuitive, available, reasonably-priced, and genuinely caring as Alex and his men.Particularly as a woman, it is difficult to find respect from mechanics and shops that won t take advantage of me. Alex is the exact opposite of that; he is transparent and respectful.I wish I could tell everyone with a car to go to The Car Doctor for their vehicle maintenance. They are truly the best over there

I have been a very satisfied customer of Alex's(the Car Doc) for 4 years now. I started engaging him for just oil changes but quickly had him service my whole car. What led me to that was his calm and comprehensive way of explaining my car problems.Unlike many car shops that harshly tell you what you need and create an urgency, Alex has taken the unrushed time to educate me and given me options on what to address when.I moved out of the area a while back but am still willing to travel 40 minutes to the Car Doc because of the great care, attitude, and timeliness that I find. I have never had a mechanic with all of those attributes and I highly highly recommend the Car Doc.Joel

Alex have been servicing and fixed my cars for years now. We have moved from Pleasant Hill a year ago but still take the extra miles to bring my cars to be serviced. He is very honest, particular, punctual and pay attention to details needed to be fixed. I fully recommend his company in lieu of any mechanical issues to your vehicle. Thank you always Alex.

Alex and Steve did a fantastic job on all three of my trucks and my Subaru. I called him he scheduled me a time to come in that same day and fix my problem in under 45 minutes. His prices are extremely competitive and he's a family man with great skill and personality. He has been our family mechanic for all of our vehicles for years and I recommend any and all people to come give him your business and you will not be disappointed. If I could give him more than five stars I would because this is the place to go

The Car doctor did a great job on my truck. Alex was very professional, on time and used top quality parts. The customer service was amazing, Alex listened to everything I was saying and didn't try to sell me on anything I didn't need. Prices of their services are also competitive. I will definitely go back to the Car Doctor for all of my repair and maintenance needs in the future. I highly recommend everyone to the Car Doctor.

I inherited an older vehicle from a deceased relative that had been sitting for the better part of 3-years. I assumed it needed a lot of work so I called The Car Doctor. Alex not only got my car running like new, he told me that some of the work (that I thought it needed and actually TOLD HIM it needed) wasn't necessary. He also advised me on some repairs that would be good to do while certain parts of the car were disassembled saving me even more money. I can't recommend Alex and The Car Doctor enough. You know that feeling when you find a good dentist or good lawyer...that is exactly how I feel about Alex and The Car Doctor.The new place in Martinez is great with a lot of parking. Much bigger than their old place. You can't go wrong with these guys. All of the good reviews are the real deal!- Brian

Took my car in for service via recommendation of another customer of theirs. Both Alex and Jeremy were fantastic. They worked quickly in replacing my brakes and flushing the brake fluid. They also identified a couple of trouble spots I needed to take care of in the future, which is something that my own dealership (who just replaced parts that were in the vicinity of one of the trouble spots) neglected to tell me about, and even showed me exactly what they were seeing. I would not recommend anyone other than them to work on your vehicles, they are the absolute best and will reach out to them later for the service I need to do. I would give more stars if I could.

My mom and I took our car here for the first time, Alex is absolutely amazing! He took our car from a four to a 10! She runs like she's brand new and we couldn't be happier. Alex and Jeremy were so nice and absolutely fantastic. Never letting anyone else touch the car again.

Alex seems to be able to fit me in flexibly as needed for oil changes and bigger repairs. I appreciate the ride back to my work which is close. I also appreciate that he allows me to do repairs bringing my own parts and will give me recommendations about quality parts. I think the pricing is reasonable and that he does tell me what repairs are needed immediately and which can wait. I trust him which means a lot in this business.

Alex and his partner have so far worked on 3 of our cars and we have been very pleased with the work. Alex has a pleasant personality, knows his craft, offers fair pricing and is trustworthy.Good shop to do business with.

I took my car in for an emissions test and the staff was very polite, kind, professional and funny. Great customer service provider. I even talked to them during the emissions test which is a plus!!! The test is fast. Highly recommended!

Been going there since February and they are amazing they do an awesome job and work with you too. They know what they doing I highly recommend to take your car here , you won't regret it. Best car shop in the contra Costa county. Owner is very friendly and understanding and honest he wouldn't sale you just anything to take your money , he will give you his opinion on what to fix and put in good quality products for your car , they take there time and don't rush you and your car out. I will continue to stay with them they really do an amazing job , but like I said come get your car fix here and you won't regret it.

Been going to Alex for the past few months but he is always helpful. Went to get my oil pan gasket replaced and ran into some more issues that could have been major but Alex and his crew was able to resolve it. During those couple of months I had concerns but they never turned me down once and addressed my concerns. Truly great shop and treat you like the person you are and not trying to get you for every penny. Oh yea great competitive prices!!!!!!!

My first experience with the Car Doctor was terrific. I needed a new starter and the dealership wanted $588 so I called the Car Doctor and got a quote of $360! Wow, was I glad I shopped around. Alex was so helpful and the work was done in a very timely manner. I'm a fan.

I think all of the 5 star reviews must be made by family and friends. My family and I had the absolute worst experience, it's your nightmare of being duped by a car mechanic which in my case nearly caused a deadly accident.My car was originally looked at by Concord Lexus but I wanted to save money so I had it brought in to Alex since his business had good reviews. I saved even more paying in cash, which should have given me my first red flag.Alex replaced the front rotors and brakes as well as the fan belts. I began noticing two new noises only a day or two afterwards. One was a thumping noise coming from my right tire and the other was a high pitch squeal when you start the engine.I brought it to Alex's attention and he claimed I needed new struts and suspension, $700+ job and that my car was just old and it had nothing to do with his brake job.So, I took it to my mechanic in Lafayette who is AAA certified and works with Carmax. That mechanic checked out my car and said that he saved my life. One of the bolts was missing from the front right brake caliper and if I drove it any longer it would have fallen off! The squealing noise was from the fan belts not being tightened. Essentially, it was careless work completed.My wife and I expressed our displeasure with Alex, and he continues to claim he has done nothing wrong and that he will only honor the warranty if I bring it back to him to fix. I've already had my mechanic call him and I have written proof, why would I bring my vehicle back to someone I do not trust? Would you?Alex did not apologize or seem sympathetic at all. He had the nerve to be upset that I hung up on him. In business, the customer is right, especially if they have proof. Why do we need to be injured in the hospital for him to act? What kind of shady business is this?I want to only support ethical businesses. Being a West Pointer and Army Officer, I really don't appreciate dishonesty and will do whatever I can to spread the word and ensure others do not get hurt by this business.

My O2 sensors for my catalytic converter upstream and downstream were bad, besides putting a new throttle body in it and then ,a map sensor and so on and so on . ... What a fabulous job they did.If and when you arrive at the auto shop with your vehicle broke down, they will fix it right on the spot and they always fix things within an hour, for me anyway . Instead of giving you all a five-star , I will give you all a 10 star !! Woohoo !! Thankyou once again !Service: Electrical repair

I've been getting 2 cars serviced by The Car Doctor for over 2 years , one BMW and one Nissan Altima. I found that several local BMW repair shops only want to change oil or brakes and would not accept the challenge of troubleshooting. The Car Doctor never sent me away. I would drop my vehicle off and would receive a phone call a few hours later with the diagnosis and repair cost options. I would just have to decide on which manufacturer parts I wanted. I highly recommend a visit to Alex and his team of experts at this new location.

This is an awesome auto repair shop. The mechanic was very fast with the diagnostic. The problem with my car, the clutch in my transmission. The lead mechanic, Jasen, repaired it the next day. A tip, the oil changes are $21.65 out the door. Great deal, so I got one done also. Jasen is a mechanic you can trust. He gets the work done. Another satisfied customer. Thanks Car Doctor.

The two most important things about a mechanic is honesty and picking up the phone. Nearly all mechanics I've used are inconsistent in one of those two areas, NOT the Car Doctor. Every time I have asked about if I REALLY need to change a part it has been answered honestly, no pushy sales tactics. Every single TIME I called I was received on the other end by Alex who would give me status updates on my vehicle. NO other mechanic will do this for you.

BEST AUTO SHOP! Took care of my car issue back in September. When he had to pay the dealership to fix the car's computer he did not even charge me extra. Even gave me a loaner over the holiday's while they worked on my issue!! Great customer service, great knowledge and staff. This is the place I will take my cars from here on out!
