Now called Alpine Grill. My husband and I enjoyed a shared burrito and enchilada. Both were delicious. Everything is made from scratch. Super clean restaurant with inside and outside seating. We will definitely return.

Last I talked with the gal there (Oct 2019), they were closing for good. Too bad, too, because I had been going there for like 20 years...because of their burgers. Honestly, it was the best burger I'd ever had. The hunt is back on...

As of summer 2020 the store and restaurant are closed, but there is a gas pump.The restaurant tends to be seasonal, changes management a lot and never opens at all some years. It has been closed since last summer (2019). The gas station is also erratically refilled and sometimes not open for extended periods of time. Usually the gas is really expensive and only worth if you don't have enough to make it to Gardnerville, but it's been up and running at a price comparable to buying gas in South Lake Tahoe for a couple of months now.There is no diesel here or at the gas station in Markleeville. The store (when it is open) is mostly a tackle shop but also has snacks. They used to have beer but have been having problems the last couple years with licensing due to the seasonal nature and the requirement to be open for a certain amount of time before being allowed to sell alcohol. Prices tend to be $$ due to the rural and tourism reliant nature of businesses in the area.

I came here when I was very young, on a road trip with my dad. I've spent the last 15+ years trying to find it on my own because I remembered that the burger I had was absolutely incredible. I plan to go again once covid-19 blows over.

Try the deep fried burger. The best burger you will EVER taste. I highly recommend them. Nothing like it anywhere.
