11/30/23: Patched my slow-leaking tire after I was turned away at 2 other businesses in town that were too busy . So grateful. Great service and extremely reasonable. I ll call JR first if there s ever a next time .

They are life savers! Our tire got flat and they were closed, we left them voicemail and they immediately called back, open the shop for us and gave us new tire! And with affordable rates too. Without them, we d be stuck here overnight. Wishing all the blessings for them!

We got a flat on a Friday afternoon and were without a spare. I was outside of Mammoth wondering how I was going to get our vehicle into a shop before they closed given the lead time for the tow trucks in the area. JR returned my voicemail within a few minutes and offered to meet me at my location, remove the wheel, take it to his shop, repair it, drive back to me, and re-install. He showed up in 30m with his jack and was back about an hour later with a properly patched an inflated tire all for a very reasonable price. The community and its visitors are lucky to have such a hard working individual that truly cares. Can't recommend his business enough.

Mammoth Lakes, California is a small mountain town that lives on tourism. Skiing in the winter, and EVERYTHING in the summer. Well, on our summer fishing trip, I picked up a nail in the sidewall of my LR tire. GEICO couldn't find a provider to swap out my spare, so plan B. My brother made a couple of phone calls oh, and we found JR! Who's tire shop was closed at the time of our phone call just past 5:30 pm. This was a Saturday oh, so I found that a little strange, but he accommodated us entirely! He dropped what he was doing just to make sure we were taken care of. He actually had a 10 ply tire available for me to purchase at a reasonable price considering I was buying a single Tire in a small mountain town. He completed every bit of the labor, and got me on the road in a very short amount of time back up to our cabin in the woods. Jr should be considered a local hero! I would go to his tire place any time! Great work JR!

Best experience I ve had dealing with a tire shop. Went above & beyond to help work with us and the rv rental company we rented from to get us safely back on the road. Refused to put on a worn out spare that the rv company requested to be put on because it would of been unsafe. Easy to work with. Fair prices. Quick service. Very transparent and honest. And made sure we were driving safely for the rest of our journey. Thank you very much for keeping our road trip alive. Will definitely be back!

Chepe is some sort of knight in snowboots. This man renewed my faith in humanity. The best experience I've ever had at a tire shop especially when in the midst of dealing with vehicle misfortune.THANK YOU

My tires hit a rock while when coming downhill and went flat. It was a long weekend and no one was willing to fix.Called JR ( the owner ) and asked if he can help. He readily agreed and opened the shop on a Sunday.I vouch for his work ethics , sense of service and his warmth towards his customers.Long live JR , all tourists to Mammoth Lake must have his number.

Jose, the owner, is an amazing person. Honest, friendly and super hard working. He really bailed me out of a jam when he fixed a flat for me after hours on a late Friday afternoon. No hesitation to help me. Saved me from having a ruined tire and having to deal with fixing a flat on a Saturday, which would have greatly diminished my weekend trip. I watched him work and conversed with him during the entire process. He was very meticulous and the patch was expertly done with no damage to the tire pressure sensor. I can't recommend him highly enough. If I needed any tires or tire service, and I was anywhere near there at the time, I'd use them in a heartbeat.

JR tire is a lifesaver - Came in on Sunday to swap a blown tire for us so we could make it home, even though it was his day off. Price was very reasonable too. Can't say enough how grateful we are for JR tire. Really great guy and great service!! His dogs are cute too.

Had a bad tire on the 395 on the way to Tahoe. Truck had big off-road tires and an old small spare. JR had a used tire in the right size to keep our trip going!

JR and his crew are the best. I hit a nail on my way up the mountain that punctured my two right side tires. JR was able to patch both tires in just a few minutes. Super friendly and great service. I highly recommend these guys if you need tire service while in the area.

I get my tires changed out here twice a year, switching out my winter and summer tires. They always do a good job and they re very fast. Reasonably priced also, bought my snow tires here and they ve been excellent. I never needed chains all winter with them

Incredible service! JR came in on his day off to replace my flat tire, and he had me fixed up and on my way in less than an hour from when I first dialed his phone number.

We were on the way home from a long trip still had 6 hours of driving home. Suddenly I noticed the front tire had a bubble on the right side of the tire and almost 7pm . I knew most of the shops closed that time only this one opened till 7pm. But we just 5 minutes away from the shop was already closed and the owner just left. Thanks We met a gentleman and asked for help to find a shop there still open. That gentleman noticed the problem and called the owner of the shop he just left and came back to the shop and took time open the shop and replaced it for us. He s a wonderful man and kindness . I don t think many of people do that when the shop has closed and left already but he did . Thanks so we got home safe after 6 hours of driving

We blew a tire not far from Mammoth Lakes. The service at JR Tire shop was helpful, friendly and fast. We were back on the road in less than 1/2 an hour with a good second hand tire installed for a very reasonable fee! I highly recommend this shop.

We had a flat tire while at Mammoth. Jose came right away and even though we did not have the wheel key for our wheel, Jose's amazing son-in-law, Edgar had the tools to help us out. Both Jose and Edgar are so amazing. They patched our tire and got us on the road on a Sunday. They are fantastic, with reasonable rates. They deserve more than 5 stars.,

My boyfriend and I were in the Mammoth area for vacation exploring some dirt roads before our long drive home to SoCal when I got a flat tire. Jose was recommended to us by the AAA guy who responded to change my tire, since traveling 350 miles on a spare tire was not recommended. Fortunately, we were right next door to JR and he was able to swap my spare out for a used tire within 10 minutes to get us on the road home. And this was on a SUNDAY! Jose told us that he usually is not open on Sundays, but still answers his phone, and opened up shop that day to service the folks calling in. How incredible is that?! He gave me a great price, was friendly, courteous, and an absolute joy to talk to. The tire got us home safe and sound and I am so grateful that Jose and the folks working in his shop were ready and willing to help us out in a pinch. I can't recommend this place enough!

Called him on Monday morning during a massive storm. I picked up a screw in my tire. Had me come to his shop 30 minutes later. Within 10 minutes I was back up and running and on my way. Super nice guy. Very reasonable ($30 bucks to patch the tire and inflate the rest of them). If you need anything tire/chain related....CALL THIS GUY.

This place is great! Jose the owner is a good man and he cares about his customers. Very respectful of my boyfriend and I and wanted to make sure he gave us a good used tire to get home safely. Good prices and great customer service. The is an excellent example of a trust worthy small town business.

We had a flat tire while our road trip. Jose was a blessing and is a bomb. He could help us with a tire for our Yukon. No one around, except him, had a matching tire.Super friendly, nice and fast service!Need tires or tire service - call him!Thanks a lot Jose!Greetings from the tall Germans!

I got a flat on the way up and had to throw the donut on. We made it up to town before the shop opened, but Jose was already there helping someone else with there flat. Waited no more than 5 minutes and he had my wheel off and patched up 20 minutes later. Fast, inexpensive, and super friendly.

Quick repair at a very reasonable price. Overnight in Mammoth Lakes with a partially deflated tire in the morning, saw the reviews of JR Tire Shop and had my tire repaired in less than 10 minutes at a very reasonable price. The place is a little hard to find, located away from the main.street, but definitely the place to go if you need tire service.

I had a nice experience getting my two back tires replaced here. I felt well taken care of and thought the prices were a great deal for a pair of used tires. I was told I should get at least 10,000 miles. However, after just a few thousand miles my back tire blew out on the freeway causing a spin out on a very busy three lane highway. Thankfully no one was hurt. I don't think this company had the intention of selling bad tires, but they did.

JR Tire shop is the place you want to be if you need anything. My partner and I were in a bad spot with a rental car and sudden snow storm in the late season. With no real information on the vehicle Jose got us set up with chains and put them on, he even ran to another shop to get a set of chains that fit our SUV since he personally was out of stock.After getting the chains we left town and pulled over to take off the chains when the ice and snow cleared off the road. Jose happened to be driving by to go hike with his dogs so he pulled over. He gave me a hand with my chains just because.Jose is a great guy, the tire shop is family owned, and his dogs are fantastic. Thank you for helping us get home safely.

I'm not sure this review will matter -- JR's already has 5 stars on Google, Yelp, and Facebook, and for good reason -- but our experience was so positive, I felt the need to share. My friend got a flat on the way down to the Owens River Gorge. Late. On Saturday. But still, Chepe kept the shop open, helped my friend get patched up when no one else could help, let us make a dirtbag camper's dinner in his parking lot while we waited. And when he was done, he didn't rush home, he stayed and hung out a little, told us about his wife and his 4 daughters. It was just such a genuine, wholesome, human experience. I came away with a lot of love and respect for Chepe, this guy I had just met. You could say it was a lot more than your typical tire change...

Stopped by costco. For tires they could not get lugnuts off.Went to jr tire shop. They were very nice and professional.They solved the problem and put the new tires on. They are just about next door to starbucks . While work is being done, just walk over to starbucks. This is a great place for tires.

Amazing customer service. I highly recommend this tire shop. I had a flat but the shop was closed. He came and opened up and fixed my tire for a very low price. Thanks for saving the day!
