Brought my car for an oil change and they noticed my air filter was a little dirty and changed it for me. Usually I just change it myself because it's so easy and lots of shops will charge $100 to do it. They only charged me for parts and no labor (like $15). To me that really shows their integrity and I gained a ton of trust in them that day. Definitely won't be taking my car anywhere else, thanks guys!

The guys at Smitty's are truly stand-up. It sometimes takes a while to get an appointment, but no matter what the situation is, they do the right thing and are sure to check everything that could be related to the problem in your vehicle, and then give you the best option to fix it (not just the most-expensive option). When we're not in a pinch we always go here, and when we are in a pinch we still give them the first call to see if they have room to see us. From our of town, and the check engine light on my 2001 Toyota 4 runner came on. Looked on Google reviews and found this place. What all the other reviewers said are true. These guys are genuine and really want to help you. I didn't have an appointment, but they took me in. They had all these other cars they were taking care of, but they took the time right then and there to diagnose my check engine light for free. Alan fixed a loose hose and said no charge! He said it was quick and just wanted to help me out. It was that small town community feel that I got where people took care of each other. Now If I had something big to be fixed I know that they would charge me a fair price.Thank you for your kindness!

After a lifetime of driving older cars, I'm an expert on auto repair businesses. Never have I found a better shop than Smittys. Alan (owner) and Mark (manager) are 2 of the nicest guys who both went out of their way to help me get back on the road. After 4 other area businesses wanted $200 just to pull in, Smittys diagnosed my code and advised me we can wait to do the repair, all for no charge. Honest work found here. Appointments can be made sooner than later and the shop is very clean. Smittys Auto goes above and beyond with every job, while the welcoming atmosphere Alan and Mark maintains raises the bar above many businesses. These guys are automotive rockstars! Hands down the best shop in LO and probably the best in the county! Alan and his crew was cluch when i had a water leak and they happened to get it repaired and back on the road within a day despite a busy work scheduled these guys had! Honest and reliable and they sometimes go the extra mile to get you back on the road. Visit these guys!!

I've grown up working on cars. My hobby is restoring classic cars, in fact I do it so much that I took a part-time job at a auto parts store just to get a fat discount for my projects. So I know what I'm talkin about. There is only one mechanic shop in the world that I would bet my life on and it's Smitty's! Not just for the quality of the work, but for the honesty and as well. That's not just hyperbole, but fact. Years ago I tested them on multiple occasions by diagnosing car problems for friends and family including my own mother. If I didn't have the time or inclination do the work myself I would send them to Smitty's to see what their diagnosis was. They were right every single time, they never tried to upsell more work, pad the bill and all of the women that I sent there, all of them ALL commented about how great they were to work with and never talked down to them. For someone like me who prides themselves on their mechanical abilities, the recommending of a shop is extremely important. I can say without reservation Smitty's does great work, and is as honest as the day is long.

We were strapped and needed a last-minute smog check and Mark and Allen opened up the garage and did a smog check for us even though they were about to close. Both men were very accommodating and extremely friendly and they will definitely have repeat business from me and I would recommend them to anybody who needs work done on their car.

Got a check engine light. They quickly isolated what it was and, since I am from out of the area, they sent me on my way. They could have told me it had to be fixed immediately, but instead they told the truth. If I need work the next time I'm in the area, I'll be going to Smitty's.

I have had my car towed here from Arroyo Grande. I have had Al and the crew work on my cars for years now. I used to be a mechanic, and I know that they treat everyone right. I had a problem once, and Al made sure to make it right, and fast. The guys at this shop handle business, and they handle it well.

Starter went out while on vacation in Baywood. Dropped the car off Sunday night and was back on the road by lunchtime Monday. The guys at Smitty's really came through for us. Cleanest garage I've ever seen. Great bunch of guys!

We had a check engine light come on while vacationing in Los Osos on a Honda minivan. The dealer in SLO was too busy to look at it. The guys at Smitty's said they could look at it, no problem. They looked up the diagnostic code, tested the gas cap and inspected the fuel tank. We were very happy and could continue our vacation. Recommended! Thanks, guys, for interrupting your other jobs for us!

Alan & The Team over at Smitty's really helped me resurrect my 2001 BMW from the grave. I was crying with gratitude, when Alan said: "Ya Gotta Have a Car Vic!" they miraculously fixed "Ole Blue" and even delivered her to my home. Waaaay Above & Beyond 5 Measley Stars!!!Smitty's where they repair with not only skills & tools-but HEART!!!
