Shop was awesome !! Called them 730 am. Needed an alternator and battery for my 53ft reeferThe lady at the desk jumped on it looked around and located a alternator they picked it up and started working on me by 830amHad me finished up by 10 am. And was on my way to my 11am pick up. Talk about prompt service.Keep in mind. The shop location is kind of tight if your in a tractor trailer 53 ft. So just park on the main road and they ll come work on u there.It s hard to get a 53 ft in front of the shop.Would recommend them If you need diesel repairs done

Recessed docks. Need to keep one door closed depending on what dock assigned so won't shear that door off . Need to pay attention to surroundings here. Tight quarters.

After searching about a month for a shop to take in my truck and run a diagnostic on my engine due to loss of power I found Universal Truck repair, a family owned and operated shop. From the moment I arrived I was greeted by the owner with a firm handshake and a big smile on his face. I told him my issue and he immediately pulled a technician and had him take a quick look, the tech advised that he would need some more time and would have to leave the truck (I did). The fallowing afternoon I received a call from the shop, my turbo was going out and was failing because of a damaged compressor wheel that might have been caused by some debris. I had them fix the issue, while it was in the shop they also performed an oil change. I am very happy with the service they provided and the very reasonable prices. I would recommend this shop to anyone that is looking for fair pricing and quick service while providing excellent work. Thank you UTR for taking me in with very short notice.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, Auto engine diagnostic, Oil change

Very accommodating staff. Proactive and willing to listen to your concerns. Bonus: owner has a great classic trucks and resto mods. They should charge a museum fee for that alone. Recommend!

No other place I would go. Edwin and Eddie are an amazing team and along with Jaime as the master mechanic, they get the job done lightning quick! Great communication of issues uncovered, and steps to fix them. Worked to keep everything within the agrees hours and parts costs estimated at the drop off/inspection. Work was completed within 1.5 days, which was much faster than I expected.Overall, very quick and professional work at a good price. I brought my truck for PM.They are always top-notch professional.Every time, they showed me an estimate first, and they don t do unnecessary repair. This time actual fee was less than estimate. They explained everything in advance. I have never had an issue after their repair.They are my TO-GO repair shop for my fleet.Strongly recommended.

I can't stress enough how long I've been looking for a shop like Universal Truck Repair. Eddie broke down the repairs to my truck in a way that I can understand and step by step on how much labor and parts would cost. I really liked the detailed estimate sent to my email before the job was started. Oh and by the way they are very affordable!! Eddie told me the truck would be ready by 12pm and by 12 it was done!! He gave me a small description of what was done and sent me on my way. I highly recommend Eddie and Universal Truck Repair for all your car and Big Rig repairs. Honestly I'm a happy camper, thank you guys again.

DO NOT GO HERE! This place scammed me. I went in to replace my transmission. They told me it would take a week and cost $13,400 for a brand new transmission.They had my car for more than 3 weeks. After a few days, I noticed an oil leak. I went to a different station and they found that Universal Truck Repair installed a USED transmission instead of a new one!! I was promised a brand new transmission, but they gave me an old used one and charged me the price of a new one! Universal Truck Repair told me it would be new, but that is not what I got. This place will scam you too, so do not come!

We was in CA with load and got transmission issue on our Volvo2013. First we were in TEC Equipment Volvo dealer center, after so many waiting hours without results and paying them $300 for (2 hours labor) we just decided leave that place. They just told us, you have transmission issue ok, what s wrong I asked from them, for that I heard we don t know . After we found Eddies repair center, the prices so affordable, and he gave us a good advices. We wasn t able to stay there because how I told before we got a load and we don t have to much time to fix this in CA. However, we know what the problem is and how to resolve it.Thank you Eddie and other people who work there!

I own a few commercial trucks and it's hard to find a place that is honest and resanable. Eddie and his crew are fantastic. They are able to explain in detail, so that those of us who don't know engines, are able to understand what the issues are.They are also very helpful if I have issues/questions with any of my trucks at any time.

AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! BIG TIME SCAM ARTISTS!!Our truck's engine was damaged due to coolant leak and mixed with oil in side engine. After a few phone calls and email exchanges we requested for a new LONG BLOCK ENGINE to be installed estimated cost: $20k. Dropped off our truck in November 2018, got no update regarding repairs. January 2019 got update that our truck was ready for pickup. Received invoice for ENGINE OVERHAUL final cost $24K!! What happened to LONG BLOCK ENGINE replacement? Had to pay to get our truck released! Next day, drove less than 50 miles, truck broke down on freeway with oil spewing everywhere. Towed back to them for repair, ONE YEAR SERVICE AND PARTS WARRANTY, and was first told that they would fix it without charge. Got a phone call 3 hours later and was told that there's $800 charge because it was not part of warranty!!! REALLY?? ONE DAY AFTER, NO WARRANTY. Again had to pay to get truck released. 3 WEEKS later truck broke down again due to loss of power and pistons making loud knocking noise inside ENGINE. Stupid me brought it back to them for WARRANTY repairs and again was told that wasn't engine problem, it was oil pump. ISN'T THAT INSIDE THE ENGINE!! Got charged over $3k this time!! Original problem: coolant mixed with oil. Engine overhaul service done, but OIL DELIVERY SYSTEM was not checked or replaced...SMART!!

Eddie and the guys at universal are great mechanics. They always get me in and out in time to pick up my dedicated load. They are honest and have great labor rates. I recommend them to anyone who needs a good mechanic in LA.

I have found John from Universal Truck Repair a very knowledgeable and professional mechanic aside being a very friendly, responsive, and honest person. I am pleased that I found this place to work on our truck. Our 1999 Ford F700 Truck Box had mechanical (engine not starting) and electrical (difficult to detect) problems. I contacted John and after listening to my explanation of the problem, he accepted to fix our truck. John, a very friendly and responsive, mechanic examined our truck and explained to me what was problem preventing our engine to start, and let me know the cost of repair in advance. The cost was reasonable and he fixed our truck on time. Once electrical problem showed itself, John fixed that too at a reasonable cost. Now I have a good mechanic and a friend in Universal Truck Repair. If our truck needs any work, I know I will take it to John. Baryohay Davidoff, Ph.D

Eddie is the man to go to if you want the job done right! Came here to fix my oil leaks on my ISM Cummins, and in addition, replaced belts, water pump, thermostat, starter, fan clutch, fuel floater, busted mirror frame, and valve/fuel injectors adjustments. My truck was out in less than a week and for half the price other local shops were charging me. Will come here again for my next repair.

Thought my clutch went out when I was driving through LA on my road trip. They found the real issue and had me back on the road in a few hours! I saved so much money. Eddie, John and Jaime are life savers!!!

When our truck broke down we called them. It was 4AM and they were there in 30mins. Very helpful and friendly. They took the time to figure out what was wrong, instead of guessing like some places do.If we ever have a problem when we're in that area again, we will definiely be calling Universal Truck Repair.

best experince i had they help me get my trucks working agian. Don't charge a lot of money. I wouldn't trade places for my trucks could get fixed there the right person for the job beacuse i went to other places and they couldn't finger it out but once i went to this place they knew what was wrong with it.

Said the truck was fixed and the bill was $100...they asked for cash...I did not have cash...so they billed me $300...problem was not fixed....RIP OFF !!!!
