They charged us $188 for someone to come jack up our car, look at it to tell us our inner tire rod needed to be replaced, and they are unable to do it. Mind you, we told them that is what we believed it was beforehand, and no one ever advised that they were unable to fix it. They are definitely rip offs. If I'm already having to come out of pocket to fix my car, clearly me paying you to come look at something is not feasible. Skip this, and go to a regular auto shop because it's more of an inconvenience than anything.

Contacted RepairSmith over a common intermittent issue with my make and model of truck. Tech that came out diagnosed something different than every online forum says it was, but he's the expert, right? So I went with it.Repair was delayed repeatedly, costing me work hours, then finally completed 15 days later.Except that did not correct the issue. So I called back. They scheduled another tech to come out, who also bumped me back several days. I had to fight to get them to keep an appointment for me after a week of this. That tech checked nothing on my truck. He ignored everything I said, he didn't even check the part they replaced before. He screwed around with the key for a bit, he checked it for codes and he admittedly guessed that the issue was in the ignition, which had nothing to do with it.So I called again. Got this escalated and was pleased. They rescheduled for a third tech to look at it... but then I got a call informing me that they were literally refusing to come back out for it.All told, I'm out a total of 14 hours of work. RepairSmith misdiagnosed the issue, replaced an unnecessary part and literally refuses to even attempt to remedy the issue. Now I have to start this all over again with another shop, which is going to suck up even more time from me.I've never in my life been more disappointed with any shop or service provider. Ever. To do the job incorrectly then literally refuse to make it right? Or even try?One star is too many.

(Austin, TX based) Do not use....I asked for a specific diagnostic check on my coolant system and a check engine light code and they did their full diagnostic check and then charged me $200 for the diagnosis. On top of that, the issue was that my thermostat needed to be replaced in my Jeep and they quoted me $474 in person which is INSANE. It's so insane, that when I put the same issue into their website - the estimated quote was $240??? A $234 difference? And, to be clear, a thermostat replacement should typically cost somewhere between $200-$300 as it's only an hour of labor and the part (depending on the car) is usually around $50-$70.Avoid at all costs if you can - the convenience is not worth it and they are definitely up-charging when they are there in person with you assuming you'll just have them do the repairs since they're there already.

Used this service when I 1st moved to California but now services has gone down hill. Diagnosis has become questionable at best... will be looking into using other repair services

Installed a new battery for my vehicle. Tech was very cool, but his boss told him you don't need to register the battery. This isn't my first battery replacement so I was weary. Ended up having to bring to mechanic to register and cost me more $. Will not use or get used againService: Electrical repairService: Electrical repair

VERY DISAPPOINTED!Needed a Brake Pad replacement and they were pushing me services that were not necessary. I was told by their technician that I needed to replace the break caliper and it would cost me $1500. I refused to do this service and took my car to a auto-repair shop and they fixed my brakes for $160 dollars and explained that I DID NOT NEED to replace the Caliper because it was in good condition. After the RepairSmith technician review my car, he said that I was going to be charged $50 for the visit, after they left I was charged $201 for NO SERVICE done on my car. It's unbelievable! Tried to contact the company but no success! Don't ever contact them for services on your car!Service: Brakes

If I could rate them a -85 I would. Guy comes out damaged my car rim and tire, had a bad attitude, didn t replace my battery even though I have a warranty. Then he tells me it s the alternator, no it s not I took the car to Chevrolet dealership and they completed a diagnostics test, which says it s the battery. So now I have a damaged rim, tire, and a low battery. Customer service is a joke. Never agree

RIP OFFS! Whatever you do DO NOT use this business! Thought the convenience of a mechanic coming to your home was worth it. NOT! So I m thinking I need new brakes He comes and diagnosis my car and says yes brakes and rotors and other things I didn t call in for. Would have cost me almost $400. I decided no let me get a second opinion. I go to my mechanic and low and behold there is nothing wrong with my brakes I need just a tire! So they were going to fix something that isn t broke and find other things wrong with the car to make money. Stay away! This company is a rip off the mechanics are independent contractors that explains it all. Never to get my business again!Service: Brake service & repair

I attempted to give this company a try and had a negative experience and wont consider using them again. I booked an afternoon appointment several days in advance. The day of my appointment, at 7:45 AM I get a text saying my appointment was cancelled. No call from anyone asking to reschedule, just canceled. 5 minutes later I get another text saying my appointment was booked for 8-10 AM. And 1 minute later another text saying a Tech had been dispatched and on the way. I was not even at the address that I had scheduled my appointment at, as I was in an early morning meeting on the other side of town. I responded to the text but got no reply. After about an hour and I was free from my meeting, I called and spoke to someone who could not explain to me what happened. So I cancelled the enroute Tech they had already dispatched, as I could not get to the scheduled location. Later a local operations manager called me to try and keep my previously set appointment time in the afternoon, but at that point I already made an arrangement to take my car in the afternoon to my local dealership with a set appointment. A simple phone call from a customer service rep could have saved a great deal of confusion and aggravation. I wont attempt to use this company again, as my wife had previously attempted to use them for a very minor repair, and had a similar experience. Seems like they have some operational execution issues, at least in the Houston, Texas area.

So many things wrong with this service.#1: COMPANY LIES ABOUT PRICES...$$As i was Speaking with the customer service representative she told me that the service I would receive would cost $49 dollars, so i agreed, and after the service men came they charged me $144 dollars. After calling customer service again for help on the situation, they went ahead and charged my card on file ( i have proof of recipt).Tip. never keep your card on file with this company they will take whatever they want out. No questions asked.(They make money off helpless customers who don't know any betterI learned this mistake the hard way.#2: THEY SCAM YOU FOR SERVICE AND CHARGE MAXIMUM PRICE.$$$$$Got my alternator replaced last year for about $500 dollars(didn't know better at the time) and after he fixed it, I asked him about some oil leaking on it, he said it was fine, and that I would have no problems with it, and that if anything happened its protected under warranty.Fast foward almost a year later alternator died due to oil leaking inside of it, called the company to have it replaced, they don't replace oil leak damage( all the other company's i checked does cover that)So the mechanic should be charged for fraud for giving me false information knowing that I would have to buy another alternator. They charge me $144 dollars just to come and tell me that they won't replace it under warranty and quoted me around a whopping $1300 to fix the alternator and oil leak this time. Of course I said no and found another mechanic that charged me $300 and showed me how fix the oil leak...Tip.. all the other company's I asked said they cover oil leak damage for ALTERNATORS. And gave way cheaper and better quality service for everything else.#3 WASTE OF TIME.Called out of work for the repair team to come, they kept changing the schedual multiple times. And when they came (terribly late) it was only for a diagnosis of somthing I already new. Then they Charged me a whole lot of money And left. I was hoping to use this service regularly, but from my experience I will never be using them again. You can find way better prices and quality service elsewhere. When you have problems with your carDon't panic and take time to find better service.I learned this the hard way.Services: Electrical repair, Electrical, Auto engine diagnostic

I used the service in Davie, FL and was pleasantly surprised. The technician went above and beyond to assist with our needs - battery replacement and tires. He went back to the dispatcher to get the part needed. We added services while he was serving our vehicle by servicing a 2nd car that we haven't used in years. He was punctual, professional and pleasant. Would definitely use again if in the same situation that the car can't be driven somewhere else.Services: Tires, Battery

Inconvenient and unreliable. Scheduled appointment made well in advanced was changed last minute (changed same day) via text message by company with no option other than a number to call to "talk to" a representative. Which ofcoarse means being placed on hold multiple times. This was for a safety recall. I will not be using this company or recommending

I am reviewing this company out of Largo,FL. They want $320 to replace spark plugs on a 2014 Mustang. Ok well they say it takes 2 hrs and 15 minutes for a 5 minute job thatany mechanic who actually knows what they are doing. That price doesn't even include parts. They used to allow you to buy your own parts but not anymore. This way they screw you over price. No thanks. I found a local shop that does allow us and they don't try to scam you with what you don't need.

5 star review if it wasn't for the last service which was worthy of 0 stars. Although the "we'll come to you and do the work in your driveway" sounds awesome, it is too good to be true in this situation. To start, I had a serpentine belt, blender air actuator, serpentine belt, motor and transmission mount, alternator, condenser and compressor all through this company. And all within two years. Why did I not trade the car in? COVID pricing on cars, that's why. The motor and trans mounts were the first repairs done. Within 18 months, the transmission mount is trashed. Was told that there was only a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty on a part where the OEM counterpart lasted 13 years and 140,000 miles (their part lasted 18 months, 14,000 miles). Buyer beware. The person who came out to investigate verified that the part indeed was replaced by them, WAS indeed failing, but couldn't give me a reason for the part's failure. BUT, he was VERY ready to sell me ANOTHER one for $750, and then tell me that he didn't have the right part anyway and would have to charge me a cancellation fee or a trip fee (you wanna make a BET???). Ever since AutoNation bought this company, they have gone downhill. Thanks for the help, when I have given you $4,000 of my money in two years. The sad thing? They would have taken out the old mount, warrantied the part under a lifetime warranty, charged me for another part and labor. Buyer beware! Now I'm just waiting for the next part to fail! $4,000 worth of repairs and I have no faith that any of it will hold. Trust someone else to do the work, because they don't stand behind what they do and don't care for you as a customer.

2nd week in a row that they didn t keep my appointment here in metro Atlanta. Wasted my time twice waiting on them . Today they didn t even call to let me know they weren t coming. I get an email 3 hours after my appointment window asking me to reschedule. Nope. I don t trust them to do what they say. You won t get a third time to waste my time.

Spoke with them to advise of the issues with my car that the brakes where pulsing and needed pads. They advise what should be selected. I setup the account and also notated the pulse in the quote. When the tech arrived he indicated it was only pads and rotors would be 3 times that amount. Called to cancel and charged a cancellation fee even though they gave the wrong information. The person I spoke with would not assist and he sent it to the dispute team. Not good service or prices. Will not use again.Service: Brakes

Coils were to be replaced the mechanic messed up my breaks now it is stiff and I drove the car after he fixed it and almost crashed because he ruined the breaks. I reached out to their customer service they told me it would be $125 to come back out there and check.Do not use the service the mechanics will pretend to fix and then ruin another part of the car so they can get more money .My first and last time with them.Should have just went by their bad BBB rating of an F

I returned from vacation with a dead car battery so I reached out to Repair Smith. Michael came over the next morning and communicated an ETA very effectively and he arrived at that time. He talked with me through options, gave me a quote and then completed the battery change. I will certainly use this company again when I am in a bind. It was so convenient that they came to me! Thank you Michael!!Service: Battery

My grandfather had a terrible experience with this company. A repairman diagnosed the problem with his car and said they were not able to repair it, nevertheless he was still charged. His problem is not that he paid for a diagnosis, but when he emailed the company asking for the part number or some information to help him with the right parts they never responded. How is he supposed to fix the car if he doesn t know even know the part numbers?

DO NOT WORK WITH THESE PEOPLE!I Made an appointment at 4:00PM and took the afternoon off of work to be home for it. Mechanic shows up at 12:00 instead well the car isn't there yet because the appointment is at 4:00. He then does NOT show up at 4:00 so I call, "he is still in the 2 hour window and should be there shortly call us back if he isn't there by 6" is he wasn't here by 6, I call again and they say "he's taken the afternoon off and would like to reschedule." what am i supposed to do now?? my car still doesn't work I used my time off to be here for the appointment and he couldn't be bothered to show up or even call! Absolutely unprofessional.

They sent me a message that the technician was on the way, so I went outside to the parking lot to wait for them. About twenty minutes later I got an email saying that they needed to reschedule, but the only available appointment would be at 8AM, which is horrible for me because I work overnights and usually get off around 8AM. Their phone support was extremely unhelpful and now I have to hope they show up in the worst possible time slot for me or I'm stuck renting a car for my out-of-state work trip in two days. Every mechanic in the area is closed because it's a weekend so I'm stuck trying to work with these overpriced scammers.

This was our first time using RepairSmith and we were so impressed with the amazing service. The RepairSmith employee showed up on time and was able to replace my car's battery, cabin and engine air filters and drive train belt all at once. It was such a relief not having to get my car towed to a shop! The RepairSmith employee was professional, honest and gave us fair prices. He was able to do all of this while our car was parked on the street, in the dark, on a Friday night. RepairSmith deserves 10 stars. Will definitely be using them again in the future for our car needs.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, Battery

This company is TERRIBLE. I paid for a diagnosis. They supposedly diagnosed what was wrong but yet my car is still not fixed and everytime they come out it s something else. Then they say something is under warranty. Yet my account says I have a balance due. So they supposedly changed a hose that didn t need to be changed yet they are trying to charge me for it. This is bad. DO NOT USE THEM.

Marco was extremely professional! He arrived on time and was very thorough with his inspection as well as the repair. I had an alternator belt that broke, repair smith came to me and made the repair in my garage, just the $$ I saved on a tow to a mechanic alone was worth it. The repair time and and cost was extremely affordable. I highly recommend repairsmith to anyone!! Thank you so much Marco, you were a life saver!

I went to the website and was attempting to schedule a diagnostic. It wanted me to use affirm to finance the service and I never confirmed the appointment. Do not use this company scam.Service: Auto engine diagnosticService: Auto engine diagnostic

The service was great and done with precision, but they weren't very active in communicating the arrival time. They gave me a set time window and thirty minutes before that time window was over they switched my time window back another two hours. They didn't care to inform me anytime before they were running late and they delayed my day a considerable amount. The mechanic was awesome but I'm not a fan of the lack of communication.Service: Battery

First RepairSmith experience today and I'm a believer! Efficient service... and I never left my home. Lucio was knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. He didn't talk car-talk and he didn't pressure any sale. I'll be a returning customer!
