I can highly recommended L&M motors, they deeply understand the cars and work necessary to make them run as new.They can source hard to find parts and none OEM parts where sensible and more economical. My w124 Mercedes drives like a dream now, it took a couple of visits to get all issues sorted but the car is 30 years plus old and had been neglected for at least the last 10. L&M loves and knows Mercedes like few others in the US.

Without L&M Motors, I would be riding the bus . . . I have taken my two Mercedes, one a classic, to L&M Motors for over 10 years and I have nothing but praise for its impeccable standards. Those who work there have, to a person, the highest professional training. They take their lead from the L&M's owner, Ludwig Dreyer, who is sterling in every respect: he is factory trained so that his automotive assessments are completely on target; he is honest and exceedingly cordial, and because Ludwig and his associates love the work they do, I trust them completely. Their work is their passion.

I have a 1987 300D Turbo Diesel that is my baby. Recently, the transmission started leaking and my temperature switch went bad and I needed servicing. While I usually fix my own car, I came across this shop and asked Ludwig and Markus if they could diagnose the car and make recommendations on what needs to be done.Ludwig and Markus are really superb and they know the om603 engine as well as anyone. When I picked up my car, it started to run flawlessly and I am eternally grateful to Ludwig and Markus.There is a shortage of highly qualified Daimler service shops in L.A. and I give Ludwig and Markus my absolute highest recommendation. I will recommend this company to friends and family. Many thanks guys.

I highly recommend L&M Motors to all Mercedes owners. Ludwig Dreyer (owner) has over 52 years of experience working on MB cars, from classic era, diesel to the current generation.The shop staff is friendly, knowledgeable and professional, with Sylvia in the office to Kenny the head mechanic. The westside is full of MB repair shops, but L&M is the best in my opinion. The shop space is extremely organized and clean. Repairs are performed and turnaround as promised, which is typically same day.They have performed all of the maintenance on my 1995 E320, the last year of the W124 bodies. Ludwig's 50 plus years of experience is valuable because he is familiar with the ins and outs of most MB over the years, where as other lesser experience shops have to spend more time to identify problems. I have trusted them from major repairs like my steering gear box, to routine oil changes.If you're a classic MB lover, you'll always been in for a treat when you visit the shop as they usually is something special being worked on. Last time I was there was a 1968 600 in the shop that was quite the presence to behold.

I have known Ludwig as a community friend and neighbor for decades and only recently purchased a used 2010 MBenz E350 and begun using L&M for my servicing. Greeted at the door by a gentleman, assured my car is in good hands, and a quick chat about the global soccer scene is nothing short of great stuff....... my car is taken care of professionally and on time at realistic prices. Never any questions unanswered and washed before I pick it up ..... the best experience at local prices!!! I have sent friends to Ludwig, who report the same great service. ...... His support staff are a delight as well. Nice to know the scary part of owning (servicing) a MBenz is taken care of by really good people..... !

We went to Ludwig at L&M for several years. I took my wife's 500CLK in for some repairs, and when he called to talk he dramatically informed me that I had a serious problem with her motor mounts. Oh my, the car is driving terrible. They must be replaced. This was all news to me, especially since I thought the car was driving quite well. Trusting Ludwig, I approved the (approximately) $1000+ for new motor mounts.About 6 weeks later I took my elderly father's 500SL in for repair. Again Ludwig called with the information about the requested repair...oh, and by the way he needs to have new motor mounts right away!Now I am not someone who believes in coincidence. I think there is something VERY odd about two cars going within a couple of months of each other, and each being declared as urgently needing motor mounts.I did not allow Ludwig to do the work. I took it to someone else. I did not even tell the other garage anything about motor mounts. I got an excellent price for the work that did need to be done, and that is what I approved and had done. But when I picked up the car, the service wirter says, "By the way, whoever worked on the motor mounts on this car left the bolts on the motor mounts loose. We just went ahead and tightened them back down. No charge. Just thought you should know."Remember I did not tell them anything about motor mounts!Draw your own conclusions about L & M and Ludwig. We won't recommend L&M or Ludwig.

This is the one stop auto repair shop you will ever need the entire staff is hands on to make your experience as knowledgeable and precise as possible! Ludwig trained his staff to treat the customers like family members with respect and personal loving care for your safety ! I have 30 yrs experience with this shop!! Ludwig and his crew are the finest mechanics in LA for your vintage Mercedes. After having awful experiences with other shops I found L&M and now I just have to hope that Ludwig never retires!

I have taken my 1970 280 SEL here for service many times, and Mr. Dreyer and his team have always done an excellent job for a great price! If you need a trustworthy place to fix your Benz, this is the place to go. They also do some amazing vintage restorations - I'm still dreaming of the '69 300 SEL 6.3 that I used to see them working on at the shop!

I have been a regular customer for over 20 years. My last car lasted 10+ years solely because of L&M. My current Benz is 5+ years old and doing well because of them. When my last car was overheating they changed the thermostat to see if the problem would resolve and it did. A few weeks later they only asked for $38. I can't see owning a Benz without them.

I was simply asking for a copy of my receipt from big a job done in the past and the secretary, even when I met her in person the day I took my car there, is just rude and inconsiderate to clients. When I asked if they in fact keep records of past services, she said yes but she couldn't furnish me with a copy of the receipt and was absolutely inappropriate in her tone of voice and bad attitude. I gave her the benefit of the doubt from my first impression of her but after today, I have made up my mind. I do not recommend this to be a trustworthy place for any car service.

Very professional and knowledgable. My family would make the drive to West LA just to get the great service from Ludwig and all his employees. Wouldn't think of going anywhere else!
