Best auto mechanic on the West Side. Honest and knowledgeable. I went there for a second opinion on my car overheating problem (my previous mechanic told me to get a new car). The problem is solved now. Thank you so much! Highly recommend this auto repair to everyone in West LA.

Went across the street, they quoted me upwards of $2000 for labor and parts, went to Grant, they reset the codes, and I have not had any issues for the past 3 months! Best repair shop in town! Honest, hardworking people!

Brought my car in for what they told me would be a $300 repair. Result? a new noise that they then told me would cost $1000 to fix.Refused the $1000 fix, took the car to another garage who told me the part was no good that was replaced. Installed proper part for $250 and new noise was no longer.

I always try to use local businesses, but it can become a little tricky when choosing a Auto Mechanic. I have to say that I personally used Grant's Garage and was completely satisfied by the workmanship, the Mechanics and most of all, the Cost. I recommended it to my Daughter who need some work on her Volvo. She originally went to a National Auto Repair, to say the least they told her that she needed to replace all her tires. I'm no mechanic but I do have eyes and it didn't look like that they needed to be replaced.I recommended Grant's. They checked her tires and told her they were still operational. She had them check her brakes, which did need to be replaced which they did. All I can saybis that at this point ,everyone should be confident in the trustworthiness in this business. I

These guys were great!!!Here s what happened: I took my car into the dealer for its annual service. Once the car had been reviewed, they came back with a list of repairs needed that would total $4,000 - including $500 to replace a battery than had been installed less than two years prior. I started calling around to try and find a better solution, and eventually found Grant Auto. Scared for a large spend I wasn t prepared to take on, I went straight to Grant Auto fearing that I had a battery about to die on me.I pulled up, and Ciad helped me instantly. He tested the battery, said it was completely fine, helped me clean it, and took a look through the rest of the things that had been flagged, saying all was normal for my car.My only complaint is for myself: I wish I d known about these guys sooner! Can t thank them enough for being honest with me and helping me save a lot of money.

Ali was super helpful and honest. This was my first time of going to Grant Auto Repair and I had a wonderful experience. Ali diagnosed and fixed my car at a reasonable price. My car drives so well. I appreciate his honesty and assistance in fixing some little concerns that I brought up. I will definitely be going to him for my auto repair needs.

Ali provides amazing service. My friend recommended this place to me a couple of years ago, and all the times I ve been here since I ve had my issues dealt with quickly and given more-than-fair pricing. I ve never felt taken advantage of or dismissed here, which can be hard to find elsewhere! I recently moved and still drove considerably out of my way just to have my new car looked at here, and was again so impressed with how I was treated. I definitely recommend Grant Auto to anyone in the area (and beyond!).

I had a horrible experience at the VW dealership, where they told me I needed to pay $1700 to fix an oil leak in my car. I brought it to Grant auto, which wasn t referred to by a friend and he looked at it right away and told me there was a knob that needed to be tightened.He s super transparent and honest. Even when I tried to tip him for being so easy and transparent he wouldn t let me and told me to have a nice night. I ll come back to him for whatever issues I have with my car in the future and I recommend him to anyone that ask for a mechanic!!

DO NOT GO HERE FOR SERVICE! Ali Braidy lied to me and sold me an illegal catalytic converter and now I can't pass a smog check due to lack of identifying numbers. When I confronted them about it they tried to forge a smog check instead of replacing the part I paid for and used that as leverage to keep me quiet.Back story: I parked at a friend's house while I was out of town, and when I got back my original converter was stolen. Since the shop was literally 300 feet away from where I was parked, I called them for a quote and they were a couple hundred dollars cheaper than the dealership, so I went with them. $2100 later, Ali Braidy returns my car. When it comes time for my smog check, the technician fails my car because the catalytic converter does not have identifying numbers.When I contacted Ali, he first lied to me and said the numbers were on the top of the part. They weren't. When I called him again he rushed over to pick up my car from my house. He calls the next day saying that he was able to pass my car, but I would need to go through him for all future smog checks. I said I wanted a legal part like I originally paid for. When his worker returned my car he said that it would cost $6k for a real replacement and that I needed them. When I said I would report them to the BAR and LAPD if he didn't give me a legal part he said, "that's fine, they like to have coffee in our shop."Now I'm out $2100 for an illegal part, $40 for the failed smog check, a tank of gas, and I still have to buy a new converter to register my vehicle. These people are CRIMINALS.Service: Exhaust

Needed to get a new battery and alternator in my car, and my experience here was great. Ali was kind, quick, and honest to work with. Was able to quickly diagnose the problem and do the repairs for me within 2 hours. All for a very fair price! I've been traveling the country in an old Sonata so I've seen my fair share of mechanics. These guys were far and away the best. I wish I could find a mechanic this good back home! Great Place! I needed a mechanic and went to Grant, Ali took care of me right away, my fuel pump was not working and had to be replaced. I had AAA tow the truck to Grant and I expected it to take a couple days of repair but Ali had it back the same day. Great customer service and Fair pricing. I will definitely be a returning customer.

We had car trouble on our trip, and it s always stressful to be in an unfamiliar place and not know where to go for a mechanic. We chose Grant Auto Repair because they were able to see us that same day, and it ended up being a really good choice. They were really friendly and helpful and were able to get us on the road the next day. They were completely honest and more than fair in their price.

These guys are so awesome. I first found them when I needed the front license plate affixed to my ford escape. Ali immediately helped me out and didn't charge me. A couple weeks later I found myself in Culver City and my car wouldn't start. Luckily Ali gave me a card so I called him for help with a tow truck. Once I dropped my car off he said he would be in touch with me the next day. He had my car fixed within 48 hours and kept me updated during the process. The price was much better than expected and I was very grateful for that! I will definitely recommend his services to anyone having car issues. They are life savers!

These guys are great! I don't write reviews but they did a fantastic job on a bumper repair / detailing for me to send the car back since the lease is up. Found the new auto guy! Cheaper than other shops in the area

My girl had just bought a used Fiat that wouldn t turn on and we called an AutoZone to get the battery maybe replaced. The front desk worker swore we had to go to a dude named Ziod at Grant Auto Repair down the street. I am so grateful I did. My man is super hospitable and honest. Not trying to swindle you like most of LA. He didn t even charge us and checked our battery/alternator for us. We are coming back Tuesday for a full check up.

Ali is the best. He has been taking care of my car for the past year and is always very honest with the repairs that are needed VS what is okay. I had minor issues a couple time and he always helped me on the spot. Every time he quoted repairs for my car it was cheaper than other shops in the area.

Ziad is super friendly, honest, reliable and you can really tell he cares about his clients. I inherited an old car a couple months ago, and have had one issue after another (lol i guess nothing is free afterall!) and Ziad and his team have saved me each time. My boyfriend has also brought his car in twice for some tune-ups. It's super convenient that this shop is right across the street, so that's an added bonus! As a single woman who knows nothing about cars, I was definitely nervous about purchasing a used car on my own. Grant Auto did the pre-purchase inspection on the vehicle I had picked out and walked me through all of the info they were telling me about the car in a way that made it clear what was great, good, and will be the next step of needs for the car. They made me feel safe to make the purchase and now I'm very happy with my new car. :)

My dad, mom, dads friend, a couple of neighbors and I all bring our cars to Grants. The name of the place is the same but there is a new boss. He and his employees are good, honest and the cost is reasonable. Give this place a try, I can almost guarantee you will not be disappointed. Good people who work hard!

Ziad is amazing! My car literally stopped while pulling into the lot and he helped get me back on the road in no time! I am so so so thankful. As a woman in desperate need, he could have charged me something wild (as mechanics often do) but Ziad is clearly a good person that cares about people's safety. I think about our interaction every day though its been 2 weeks since. Just a kind and patient person. I cannot thank him enough!! I hope all good things head his way.

I asked over the phone about what day the work would start on my van before I dropped it off. He says to me "Do you live in your van? Because you can't stay here".Shocked at this prejudice and classist question, I will never take my vehicle here for automotive repair. I have a place to park, I didn't ask to live in the parking lot, I just asked what day the work would start.I'm not leaving my vehicle and all my possessions in the inbox of parking lot for a week before the work is even started. Anyways, that's why I don't go here.

Highly recommend this place. Ziad is amazing to work with! I came here two times now, and both times he was so honest and helpful. Price was very reasonable and I can feel how trustworthy everyone who worked here was.
