Great service! Ike and Ricardo were very thorough and fast. Were able to get my car fixed within a few hours!The metal plate on the bottom covering the engine was broken and dragging on the ground - Ike explained what he was going to do, gave me an estimate, and told me he d call if for any reason it would be more than what was quoted. He also took photos of the issues once he was working on it so I was able to see the full issue. Would highly recommend and will be coming back!

Ike and Ricardo always take care of me, I have been coming here for over 4 years. This past time I was on a time crunch due to my side view mirror being broken. Gateway auto body found a replacement and repaired my mirror in less than 24 hours. I am very appreciative of their timely and transparent service!

If you are in a hurry, and on a terrible budget, Ike will find a way to get you back out on the road in as little time as possible.Quality service and kind professionals are hard things to find for mechanics, and probably impossible to find if you need better than what they have Gateway Auto. Ike saw me struggling to even find parking at the next door mechanic, when he offered to give me a parking spot in his lot, and after hearing why I was even waiting, decided he would price match the already generous prices. The downright magic of the mechanics got my oil change done in record time, and despite it being a fully synthetic oil, this was the cheapest oil change I have ever paid for, at any point in my life, even on the East Coast with much lower prices. I'd rather walk than take my car anywhere other than Gateway Auto now.If there is a cheaper mechanic shop, with better staff, I'd never believe it. Thank you Ike, Ricardo, and the rest of the amazing staff at GatewayAuto! Easily the best in the industry, country wide.

Excellent and timely service. Had a catalytic converter stolen from my Prius for the second time in one year. Saw good reviews for the shop and it was nearby on Maps, so I went to Gateway for service. Once we connected with the insurance adjuster, Ike was able to replace the converter quickly, as well as install a protective plate for a good price for future peace of mind.Very responsive and clear communication. Can highly recommend Gateway and Ike for fair and quality repairs.

Ike was very quick to get my car seen. I had hit something on the road with my rear left wheel and it had messed up my alignment plus did some damage to the rim so I was looking to get it fixed as soon as possible and Ike was quick to squeeze me in and get it fixed. And on the plus he charged reasonably for the work he did.

I want to be disgruntled and give this place 1 star, but because he fixed my rear brake pads, rotor and brake fluid exchange in timely fashion, I cannot in good conscience. He completely ripped me off and overcharged me for services that I found out should have cost way less. I saw a review earlier that stated that it is suspicious that people are posting pictures only the mechanic would see -- there's a reason. He offers you a discount if you post these pictures and give him a 5 star review on multiple platforms. I would be very weary of going here. He'll get the job done, but you'll be left heated at the fact that you were charged so much for no reason and forced to leave a glowing review.Services: Auto brake repair, Auto brake replacement

My car got damaged from hitting a steep driveway. I called Ike and he helped me from start to finish making the entire process extremely easy. He explained the damage and gave me an estimate upfront. He ordered the part and fixed it on the same day he got it, and also charged a really fair price (I was expecting to spend a lot more). I highly recommend this shop for anyone in LA!

I am so grateful that I came across this mechanic. I was on my way to pick up my son from daycare when my car started making a terrible sound. I was scared and flustered and looked for places I could take my car. Thankfully Gateway was only a mile away. When I called Ike he was very respectful and understanding of my situation and told me I could bring my car over. He was patient with me throughout the whole process because I was feeling very overwhelmed about the whole situation. He called me again this morning to give me an update. He had been so communicative throughout the entire process and sent me pictures along the way to demonstrate the concern. I am very grateful for his transparency. At most mechanic places you don t get this much info so it is very reassuring as a customer to know and see exactly what is wrong. Will definitely be returning. Highly recommend. Satisfaction guaranteed.

I have taken my 2007 Infiniti g35 here for about 3 years. Ike has always been very responsive via phone and text, and sent me pictures during the repairs and kept me updated day to day. I ve now replaced almost the entire front suspension components, front/rear wheel bearings, and radiator/thermostat/radiator hoses. His prices have always been very competitive and his mechanics Ricardo and Julio have always done excellent work. I can t recommend this place enough. They are always at or below the prices of other places, and I don t have to worry about the quality of the work or the timeliness of the repairs. I brought my car to Gateway Auto for repair and have been completely satisfied with their service. Ike took my car right away, clearly explained what needed to be done, and laid out pricing options. Ricardo and Ike communication is excellent and they made me very comfortable. Ike is the best! He took the time to explain what was going on and even included some smaller services at no charge. I highly recommend!

Ike has been the best and is so communicative and helpful! I came in because I needed new brake pads and my rotors were glazed and Ike was able to get started on my car ASAP and has been very easy to reach throughout the whole process. He sent me pictures of my car while working on it and kept me in the loop by sending texts with important information. Definitely will keep coming back!Services: Brakes, Auto maintenance

Very quick and trustworthy service.Ike and his mechanic Ricardo at Gateway Auto were very quick, responsive, and helpful. They were able to help me diagnose an issue with my car (a leak from the oil pan seal) on a very hectic and busy 4th of July weekend when most shops were closed. Ike was quick and responsive. Firestone told me my radiator was leaking, but Ike pressure tested and there was no leak. Great mechanic at a local shop. Fixed up my struts and a broken control arm as well.

Really great, nice neighborhood mechanic! Ike was phenomenal! He helped me with some front body work. Constant communication, worked with my insurance company (not easy!), completed the work in a timely fashion, and even helped me with some additional items like door handles and A/C. Ike is the best! My car was side-swiped when it was parked on the street. I brought my car over to Ike as soon as I could. He not only helped me bother the insurance company into responding faster so we could get the work done, but he also did a total check-up on my car. Getting my car back I know it is in great condition and safe to drive again. Ike is going to be my go-to for a long time now that I live in LA. The service is amazing, he has kept me posted about what is going on with my car and is very upfront with everything. Ike even only charged me a service fee for fixing my hood which is an added bonus for everything that he has fixed with my car already.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Body & Trim, Brakes

Ike was very professional and competent. I brought my car to this shop after seeing the engine light come up. He diagnosed the issue on the same day, sent me pictures, and completed the repairs by the next day, again with pictures of the old and the replacement parts. Ike is very kind and responsive, and I even had a friendly personal conversation with him. However, I still believe future customers have the right to know what I experienced before heading here. I apologize for the long review in advance.Pros:1. Experienced.-No young unexperienced mechanics hanging there trying to learn from experienced mechanics with your car as a teaching material. A big plus sign.2. Poor exterior that saves you money.-Counter-intuitively, the poor exterior apparent in their photos was a big plus for me, since they can keep the price low by not investing in things other than "fixing cars".3. Ike is kind and responsive.-Ike and the other staff are friendly men and feel like you have known them for a long time. Ike answers your questions or concerns very kindly.Cons:1. "Yelp discount"-They offer a discount for you to write reviews in front of them, which make me doubt their stars. Yes, you should never trust internet reviews and stars anyway. However, what made me especially doubtful about the review of this place is that they have a Yelp discount: You leave a review in front of them after service. They even recommend (not force thankfully) what to write. You as a customer get a discount by doing this, so imagine how many people would dare not to leave 5 stars on their face.2. High diagnosis price.They asked for $235 for an airbag (SRS) inspection, which already includes a $40 Yelp discount. Many other places said ~$175 without any discount. Although he finally offered me $179.9 to match the price, their labor seemed to be expensive. I did not eventually get the repair so I can only tell you about the diagnosis price comparison.3. Perfunctory diagnosis.In my unprofessional understanding, airbag (or SRS system) diagnosis starts with an OBDII scanner which tells you the DTC error codes stored in your car. This is a 1-minute work. What makes $179.9 worth is their professional labor and time to locate the physical source of those errors (e.g., loose wires of buckle pretensioner) and their work to estimate the repair cost.However, they only showed me the OBDII scanner result and explained to me what they meant. They even failed to provide a repair estimate saying that the parts are hard to find because my car is too old. They even couldn't offer labor fees given I somehow got the parts for them.4. Deposit to "look for the parts".Ike told me the parts to be replaced were too old and that he could not find them easily. But, then he said if I were to fix it, I needed to deposit $150 so that he could spend time looking into the parts more seriously, which he said was a two-day job. Little suspicious here.Anyway, I took my car to the other shop, the one with ~2k reviews (the shop name is not disclosed to avoid advertising). They easily found the parts from the Ford dealership. Please understand this place may have a different supply chain, but at least you should know my experience.5. Suggested more service than the other shop.Ike suggested replacing 5 parts: ECU, two belt pretensioners (buckles) for the driver and two passenger seats, and belts for both seats. I still cannot understand why he suggested replacing the "belts". He mentioned that the belt and buckles are a set.On the contrary, the new shop suggested replacing only one part. He even managed to fix the driver seat by simply "wiggling" the pretensioner cable connection. I only had to change only one part: A belt buckle (pretensioner) for the passenger seat. PLEASE NOTE THAT DIFFERENT MECHANICS HAVE DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE. Maybe Ike wanted me to be "extra" safe. I am here just to deliver my experience.
