This place deserves every good review it gets. I cannot recommend these guys enough. They make everything as clear and transparent as possible and will suggest ways to work within a budget, even if they have the opportunity to make more money. David keeps us updated every step of the way, provides advice and treats us like old friends. Best mechanics in LA.

David and Guillermo were recommended by my trusted friends and I m so glad to have a reliable place for our cars here in Silverlake. They ve given us xlnt information that saved money and time, plus dependable maintenance as needed. Feels like right place to be! Really nice guys, good team!

Exactly what you were looking for:A shop with serious people doing honest work.Prices are moderate, it won t be the cheapest or the most expensive, but you get what you pay for.They accept SilverRock insurance, which is a huge plus because the only other providers are pepboys and Firestone, both of which I ve had spotty experiences with.David was straightforward and wasted no time, which I appreciate. The overall turn around time was about standard, on a busy Monday - which I imagine would be quite busy for auto shops. Overall great experience, I ll be coming back even if my insurance doesn t apply. Finally found an honest shop!

This is a very long overdue review, but David and Guillermo are the best! Came in for the second time a few months ago without a call, and David took me in immediately. I was going out of town and wanted to make sure that I was up to date on my maintenance, especially since I don t drive much. David was super nice and attentive to suggest a few other minor items that might need replacement for my car and I was more than happy to take his suggestion since I trust him. This is a very honest and friendly shop that doesn t take advantage of you and your money. Unfortunately I now moved to San Diego and probably will need to find a local mechanic in my area, but will happily stop by Bubba s if I m ever in the area again.Service: General repairs & maintenance

After a number of unfortunate and scammy mechanic experiences in LA, I was soo happy to have Bubba's recommended to me!! They are trustworthy, kind, affordable, and super good at their jobs. I do not know much about cars and they do not take advantage of that.

Im extremely happy to say the least and more importantly relieved. It s been alot of aggravation for me with my Vehicle in the past . Today s encounter was priceless and i am thrilled both with David s professionalism , and knowledge. Grateful to say the least, look forward to establishing a working relationship w the business. Total sigh of relief here . Thank you so so much .

Came in for a timing belt change on my Fiat after bringing it to a different shop who accepted the task, but called me a day later saying they couldn't even diagnose the vehicle due to lack of equipment. Gave Bubbas a call and was greeted by David who was very informative and thorough. The car was repaired fairly quickly so I was glad for that, but after the timing belt change, a leak appeared just under the vacuum pump. While they did take it back an and inspected the part again at no additional cost, I was assured that there was no leak and it was residual oil from the install. Unfortunately, it was in fact a leak stemming from the vacuum pump, I'm assuming the old gasket was reused as installing a new one completely solved the problem. The unfortunate problem is that the leak only typically only appeared after 15-20 mile highway drives at a constant 3.5-4k RPM, or when you're really getting on the throttle for a bit, and not under any other circumstances so I can understand how it can be missed as any other driving/idling conditions it doesn't pop up.Still, I'd definitely come back again for repairs/installs as the customer service was great, the team was very informative, and the job was quick.

Love David and Guillermo. I have been a customer since they were located on Washington. I followed them to their new location. I will not ever take my car anywhere else. They know my whole family. Quality care and quality service is unmatched by far. The best, fair,and honest mechanics I know

We went to Bubbas performance and more auto shop in Silverlake. We had problems with our 2015 Honda civic for months. Every time we were driving our car, if we turned the engine off for an even a few minutes - we had a hard time restarting the car. You could turn the key, all the lights on the dash would light up, but it wouldn t start. Every week we would get stuck in a parking lot for 20 minutes or anyplace while running errands. We took it to the Honda dealership twice and they tested it and could never find anything wrong.We took it to Bubbas after the technician at Valvoline recommended them. Guillermo and the team were warm and welcoming, very professional and were able to use one of their machines to identify that we needed a new starter. They ordered it immediately from a distributor nearby and we hung out in their waiting room enjoying the A/C while they worked on it. We also enjoyed playing with the dog, Oso! We were done in about an hour! Fair price, good service, and they identified and fixed a problem that the Honda dealership didn t have the patience to find. Thank you so much to everyone at Bubbas shop- I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

David and Guillermo have changed the game for car repairs. Aside from being the nicest guys around, they also provide the BEST service I ve ever encountered for all of your automotive needs. I ve brought my car to them three times now for different (and unrelated) things, and they are always straight forward and honest while also telling you what s necessary and not. They ve fixed things large (engine trouble) and small (a gas cap) with equal enthusiasm and expertise. They even discovered a fraudulent brake job that had used mismatched parts which I laid top dollar for and never would ve known. Their price to fix the fraudulent (and now dangerous) job was beyond fair and included things that I thought I d previously received for twice the price. They are beyond thorough because they care about you, your safety, and your business which now feels like a friendship. My whole family now goes to Bubba s for our tune-ups, oil changes, and for anything else car related. If you want the job done with the most honest (and lovable) guys in East LA, come here. You won t regret it for a second. A few months ago, I decided to get new brakes, and had a pleasant experience at Bubba's, so I felt good returning to them when Valvoline found that my valve cover gasket was leaking during an oil change. Bubba s got me in quickly, confirmed the issue, and had the work done in a couple hours. Dave helped me to understand the work they were doing, didn't try to upsell me, and reassured me I could bring my car back in if any related issues persisted. I completely agree with another review that emphasized his kindness.Note: This is the first time I've ever felt strongly enough to write an online review for a business. I couldn't recommend them more!

My truck had a vibration to it from the suspension but Guillermo and his boys made it drive like a brand new truck again.
