We brought our Volvo XC90 and they were extremely helpful and nice. They are very honest and transparent. The best shop in LA by far - we cannot be happier for finding them.

These guys are great!!! They fixed a blown oil seal and changed my timing belt on my 2004 Volvo S40 for a good price! Same car 3 years later had some issues and Robert test drove my car on a busy Friday for no charge and said voltage matters check the battery. I then got a new battery and 6 codes went away! Highly recommend and call first they're busy for a good reason.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair

The 2 mechanics are JOHN and ROBERT. I did not see anyone else working on the vehicles.First, I am a new client and was so impressed with the explanations of the technical issues that their expert knowledge was readily apparent. Additionally, they are very efficient and work on the vehicle immediately.Second, what they charge for labor is 15% LOWER than what my local mechanic charges me back in Florida, which has a lower cost of living. In this case, I don't believe their cheaper cost of hourly labor equals an inferior service quality compared to the nearest VOLVO DEALER in Los Angeles.Third, VOLVO KNOWLEDGE. John explained how VOLVO QUALITY has not diminished since the new owners are a Chinese company. He clarified that all VOLVO vehicles for the Chinese market are manufactured inside China by these Chinese owners. All other VOLVO vehicles sold worldwide are engineered and manufactured in Sweden, and in some cases the Swedish components are put together by American workers.Fourth, HONESTY. Our white 2013 VOLVO XC60 T6 has nearly 120,000 miles. I asked if the VOLVO reputation for long lasting vehicles would be applicable here. With confidence, John explained that those vehicles made in 2013 were very solid and could reach 300,000 miles. Without a doubt, this level of quality is VERY RARE. Any dishonest mechanics would declare that I needed to sell the VOLVO because of future repairs and unexpected high costs. My previous 2001 ACURA MDX SUV reached this milestone of 300,000 without exceeding the expected repairs. This is not the case for their 2011 model, and the newer generation underwent a significant number of vehicle recall (different models included) because the engine would unexpectedly turn off in the middle of driving.... this could easily kill the people inside the ACURA vehicles across different models.Fifth and lastly, both JOHN and ROBERT have a very loyal customer base. John explained their decision NOT TO RAISE THEIR HOURLY LABOR COSTS despite inflation. The raise would not help their very loyal customers. Because of this explanation, I understood why their entire lot was filled with customers vehicles both VOLVO and SAAB.Hopefully, this favorable review answers all questions.PS: I wrote this review without receiving any compensation. Only as a token of appreciation to both JOHN and ROBERT. A simple exchange of value for value... a very fair and mutual trade.

I was recently going through my maintenance records and realized it has now been over 10 years that I've been getting my car serviced at 2 Guys From Sweden. So this review is long overdue.I initially decided to bring my car to 2 Guys From Sweden based on the recommendation of a neighbor, who also had a Saab, and had nothing but nice things to say about Robert and his shop. Previously, I was taking my car to a general mechanic who apparently had no idea what he was doing. The first time I brought my car to Robert, he thankfully fixed all the repairs (mistakes) that the previous mechanic had made.Since that day, I have never hesitated calling Robert whenever I have a problem with my car. He is extremely knowledgeable, professional and honest. The cost of maintaining an older Saab or Volvo can add up, but Robert s prices are very reasonable. And in truth, it really does pay to have specialists like Robert, who works on Saabs and John, who works on Volvos because they know your car inside and out. And on the absolutely rare occasion when there is something they can t fix, they will let you know.Over the last 10 years, I have happily brought my car back to Robert anytime it needed scheduled maintenance or repairs because I know it s always in the best of hands. And if they re not too busy, I usually spend a little extra time at the shop because it s always a pleasure talking to Robert and John and they usually have a few classic cars on the lot for me to drool over.My car will soon be 25 years old and I d like to keep it on the road for as long as possible and I know Robert is the guy to make that happen. I m a customer for life. If I ever get the chance to add another Saab or Volvo to my garage, the first place I m driving to is 2 Guys From Sweden. And if you have a Saab or Volvo in need of servicing and repair, it would be a mistake to take your car anywhere else.

I needed to get my suspension replaced on my Saab and had heard good things from another Saab owning friend. Within a couple hours of dropping off my car, Robert had diagnosed the issue and let me know exactly how much the replacement parts and labor would cost, which were significantly less than an estimate I got from another shop closer to home. Robert was extremely helpful in explaining everything to me and kept me updated about their progress. Within a few days, the car was ready to go and rides great now. My experience here surpassed all my expectations and made my stress disappear immediately once I realized just how knowledgeable and dependable these guys are. I will definitely be back for any future repairs.Service: Steering & suspension repair

It's always a good time when your mechanics are knowledgeable and don't try to sell you things that you don't need.Service is always excellent, prices are reasonable and both guys are great people.

About eleven years ago I brought my old Saab to this shop. They fixed my air conditioner. In about an hour. And the price was awesome.Fast forward to yesterday: I brought in my car because all the sunroof drains were clogged up. Robert, I believe, worked on the car for about thirty minutes while I waited. With skill and panache he diagnosed and went to work. Problem solved. No more clogged drains. No charge, he said. I was so stunned I got into my vehicle without saying a word.I wept in the cart the whole ride home. Not really, but you know what I m trying to say.Service: General repairs & maintenance

My check engine light came on and they replaced it with a used part, free of charge. Great and more importantly, honestly and reliable mechanicsEdit: came here after I went to the closest mechanic for convenience and they tried to charge me almost double what Robert and Jan tried. An honest mechanic is invaluable so I will only bring my Volvo here.

My Volvo was vibrating and making noises. Culver City Volvo dealer charged me $219 for the diagnosis. The dealer decided a few things needed to be replaced. They quoted about $3,200 to replace drag links, cv boots and lower control arms.I brought my car here for a second opinion. They properly diagnosed the issue and replaced my drive shaft for less than 1/3 of the quote from the dealer. No more vibration, no more noises.I imagine the dealership would have ultimately figured it out but I am sure I would be out $4,500 or more.In short, these guys are great. Highly recommend for any Volvo service or repairs.Services: Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic

I'm updating my review after another exceedingly excellent experience at 2 guys from Sweden. Frankly, you would be foolish to bother bringing your Volvo or Saab anywhere else. These guys are total pros, with encyclopediac knowledge and superior instincts about these vehicles. Plus they're great people, always generous with their time. Their work is impeccable, thorough and modestly-priced. Google needs to add a sixth star for places like 2 Guys from Sweden.

Fantastic service! I went in for a dashboard light and had some questions about upgrades for my Volvo. One of the guys (Robert) gave me great recommendations and thoroughly answered all my questions. I saw that they were busy but he never rushed me. Thanks so much!

I called around for a small repair on my Volvo. Not only was Two Guys From Sweden the lowest price, they were the nicest and most honest. The job was done quickly and fairly. By far the best car repair experience I have had.

Bottom line: It is such a rarity to find the quality level of service (detailed below) and I couldn t be happier or more enthusiastically recommend Two Guys for Volvo/Saab for LA-ers.The Swedish guy, aka Robert, is a specialist. He is the expert who conducts a thorough assessment, and then communicates clearly and genuinely about the big picture. What is happening with the car, what requires immediate attention and/or what does not, and if relevant, will explain what is in the pipeline for future maintenance. He is respectful of your decision-making process. His work is superb (and he ll stand by it). His rate for service is beyond fair.In the world of LA auto mechanics, Two Guys From Sweden is a business with a totally different mindset and unique set of values, and in a way, that is a huge part of what makes it priceless. Again, for Volvo/Saab owners, I believe this is the clear choice.

I've had small issues two times now and both times Robert has taken time to help me out, at no charge. Most recently when I thought I'd done some kind of major damage to the engine, Robert talked with me at least 3 times on the phone about it, each time saying kindly, "No worries". Another mechanic who is also good and who has most recently worked on my car said to me - well maybe I'd blown a valve and done major damage. He totally freaked me out. Then I called Robert. He was clear and calming. I had only run out of gas! So embarrassing! But I'd never run out of gas before with my 850 Turbo (the engine jerks wildly, very scary; it doesn't just drift to a stop) When I need my next service, I'm switching to Robert just because he's a really good guy and I can tell he's a very good Volvo mechanic. And he's a great car psychologist for the anxious Volvo owner! Thank you Robert.

I am on my fifth Saab. I was so fortunate to be introduced to Robert Gryzbowski years ago. Robert is one of the owners of Two Guys. He has been nothing but honorable, fair, equitable and a pretty damn nice fella in the 11 years I have known him. His partner, Torg, is the gentleman that works on the Volvo's. They are both very honorable, knowledgeable, hard working, kind gentleman. And for this reason, I will continue to purchase and lovingly drive Saabs knowing that Mr. Gryzbowski is there to fix any and all issues. I can not recommend this shop enough. Great guys.
