The dealership told us our Subaru Outback (2012, 100k miles) required $11k of repairs due to an issue with the radiator even though it was driving fine. This essentially meant our car was totaled. We happened to find AK to look into a used engine replacement and he performed another diagnostic. Rather than just agree with the dealer and install a used engine, he actually didn t find any issues and was honest about it! We appreciate that he didn t just use our plight as an opportunity to earn some money. Will definitely come back if we do have a terminal issue with the car

They work very well, since I met with them, they were very kind with me and honest with my car ... The owner Mr. AK offered me a low miles engine for my Subaru at a good price. The mechanic also did all the work in less than a week and my car works excellent and no problem. Definitely a good place if you want to take to change your engine or transmission and with good guarantee. Very good team...

I highly recommend this auto shop, I had to get my suv a new motor and they fixed it, got it running again for a very good price. They are very good people and give great prices as well as very professional.

Got a rebuilt engine from these guys and drove it 4000 miles and it lost all compression in cylinder 4 which means it's a bad engine and took him the paperwork and he said he can't do anything because it's past a year like anyone is going to drive 12000 miles in a year.... doesn't even know the company where he got the engine even though his sales pitch was oh yeah I've been working with them for 6 Years and no problems ever. I feel so swindled and just left in the dust. Said he can't do anything to help.... I hope for you all that you never get any work from this guy. He has paperwork all over the place and couldn't find mine so had to make copies and in the back "shop" it's even worse... terrible company

AK and the mechanic were very helpful and honest. They did an engine swap on my 07 Lexus and did a great job. They only work on one car at a time, so it can take awhile to get your car in. And since they test everything before and after installation, it could take longer than expected to get the best parts and get your car back. The first engine they got from the distributor didn t have adequate compression so they got a different one that had even less miles on it. They use high end parts and are very communicative during the whole process. Later, the serpentine belt was making noise on startup and they were happy to take the car overnight and fix it at no extra charge. Now my car starts up and runs quieter than ever before. Overall, I felt that they truly cared for the health and safety of both me and my car. These are good people that do good work.

A few months ago I had my engine replaced at Island Auto. AK was a good man to work with and his mechanic, Yogi, seemed to take pride in his work. If you need a low mile replacement engine I recommend you call and see if AK can get you going.

Honest fast work at a decent price. The owner AK is very nice and will work with you to make sure you're taken care of.Even though they only do engines and transmissions, I told him about a power steering leak in my other car and he offered to lift it up and look for the problem at no charge.

I had an engine swap done on my 2006 Honda civic. Everything went well with no problems at all. The work is done by appointment so they dont over schedule and they work on your car when you drop it off. The prices are great also.

I order a g35 engine and installed it at my shop. The shop I work at has been open for over 30 years. I have over 13 year as a service manager. we are certified AAA repair shop for over 22 years. My tech install this engine and it had rod knock from the start. I called and talk to AK his first word were " you didn't put oil or overheated it not my fault". AK is will not honor his warranty and is a liar. I filed with my discover card and he sent some one else paper work lol how many open charge back do you have.

I would highly recommend this shop. AK is the owner and not only is he a great guy, but the work they did on my car was excellent. Put a low milage engine in my 93 prelude and it has been running beautifully. I will defiantly recommend Island Auto Parts to friends and family and I will also be returning, that is for sure.

This is the shop to come too. If you want a honest , cheapest, fastest place to replace your cars motor this is the place. Ak the shop owner has been here for 35 years , and I can see why, he is good!!!Well my trans went out now on my 2014 kia soul, so back to AK at Island Auto he found me a nearly new one cheaper than anywhere.

I had the engine on my honda accord replaced at Island, and I am very happy with my decision. This shop is honest, professional with competitive prices. Highly Recommended! (edit) I wanted to add that since this was a Major repair, I researched no less than 4 shops before coming here. The warranty here is much better, and the amount of time your car is in the shop is minimal compared to competitors (only 2 days). It's never good news when you learn you have to spend a big amount of money to make your car whole again, but discovering this shop made it ALOT easier. Needless to say, Very pleased with the results!

Mr. AK repaired my Hyundai over the summer and at first he seemed great. But it was not until a month later my car experienced oil leaking. He refused to look at my car and violate our warranty agreement said 'I don't do oil leaks'. I took it to another mechanic to find out things were not properly put back on my car and my oil pan was not installed correctly. THEY CUT CORNERS!! Mr. AK is a thief.

I was really hoping to be writing an awesome review about how I got an engine from them but they aren't even running their business well enough to answer the phones. If I could give 0 stars I would! I got a quote 2 weeks ago and have been calling everyday since. Why even have a business if you aren't going to run it.

I recently purchased a low mileage engine from Island Auto Parts, and am very happy with my purchase. It has only been 6 months that I have been using the low mileage motor, but so far so good. Since we installed the new motor we went to Los Angeles and back to Coachella twice and it seems to run in excellent condition. Very happy with their service and their products. I plan on repairing my other car at Island as well.

AK's seemed extremely transparent and helpful at first. I was so relieved that I found a trusting and hardworking mechanic. Initially the Nissan Altima ran great (given he had to install a lot of new parts). About 3 1/2 weeks later my car begins to sputter. I take it back he said it needed a new fuel filter without even looking at it; 2004 Nissan Altima's have no external fuel filter though. He then said if it that does not fix it he will have his mechanic look at the electrical. Well a day later the car does not start and my fuel pump is not getting any fuel. My fuse and relays worked but the electrical plug had no voltage. I put a new fuel pump just out of some last home. Car still does not start, he refused to honor the warranty and yelled at me over the phone. He said the fuel pump electrical is only in the back and he does not do electrical work, contradicting what he originally said and displaying some poor knowledge of the interworking's of a car. After giving him $2500 plus $500 for my own parts he has basically scammed me and I am reporting him to the CA BAR for mal-service. AK is not a mechanic or as good as cars has I originally thought, he is a con artist and a businessman...

I visited Island Auto Parts recently and found that their service and hospitality towards their customers was excellent. I walked in and was greeted immediately. I sat only for a couple mins until they asked what I had needed. Their CEO A.K. explained that Island Auto Parts sold and did rebuilts on Japanese engines and transmissions. Besides they will also do other services such as oil changes and brakes. Their employees were very honest and had plenty of experience. One of their employees Nick offered many ways to help me get my car fixed. Another employee there had worked there for twenty three years. I was pleased of Island Auto Parts' service towards their community and recommend anyone reading this to go there if to have any problems with their cars.

My friend Russ and I planned to visit a friend in San Fernando but a fuse in the charging system caused the car to stall and eventually stop. Thanks to Island we were on the road and headed home to the greater Phoenix area. We didn't get to go to the beach or meet up with our friend because we were out of time . Shout out to Island Auto Parts for the quick service, reasonable prices and the hard work.

My Engine on my Honda Ridgeline Seized w/o any sensors ever alerting me. After several tows & Many Calls I wound up at Island Auto Parts w A.K. I went to a Honda specialist before A.K. Both gave me the Verbal Agreement of the Same price. A&H Honda guy spent alot of time talking about his faith, politics, etc. to my friend that gave me a ride there but then Broke his Verbal Word/Contract! So I went to A.K. He is Very Busy, Diligent, & Goes Out of His Way to make sure You get his Best Service. He was in the Hospital when he called to order my Engine. Now that's DEDICATION! And when a couple parts were more than he quoted He stood by His WORD. OUTSTANDING! Took awhile to get another part that my truck neeeded so w All Our talks etc. He is now a Dear Friend. I Highly Recommend Him. I am Truly Blessed by His Service & Friendship. ThankYou So Much A.K. I am a customer/friend for lifeBTW~ saw that someone posted they were taken advantage of because they were Female. I know the feeling but Not True w A.K. in fact He went Out of His Way to Help Me at Christmas

This place is great, Mr. A. K. Helped me find a really clean engine in no time at all and was able to pick it up quick. They even helped me load it up in my truck. If you are looking for quality used engines for a great price this is the place to go!!!

Bought a 2000 chevy silverado 1500 from them back in February was told the pink slip would get sent to them and they would call me to pick it up have not received a call saying its there and every time I call I get no answer

Okey,I'm so happy because this Guy Mr. Ak is very respectful and thankful, so.i buy a use trans whit warranty and he explained what I need to do to make the work perfect . I will come in back for more engines an trans.when I needed. Look only Japanese cars.

My uncle goes in and gets a quote $900 for a rebuilt transmission and that they have one right there.When I call the only option given to me $1400 installed. Call back and they want $900 to fiddle with my transmission. Maybe it's because I'm a female that I get special offers right?!

Friendly and helpful staff. Won't sell engine parts separate of the engine (crank, heads, block, etc.) or transmission (TC, valve body, tail shaft, etc.). They want you to buy a whole engine or transmission.
