Got stranded on the grapevine and had my vehicle towed to Fas. It was towed Sunday evening and although Monday was a holiday they took a look at it and fixed it that day. Family owned business so everyone was amazing! Highly recommend this place. I wish we lived closer so they could be our regular mechanic.

They are super nice there. I went to register my car and the the guy who helped me was very professional and had me out of there in no time. I will definitely be using them in the future.

Top notch service. Had issues with registration and smog and these guys work through it either me. Good solid place to get your vehicle's registration done and also smogged. They even found a coolant leak that I didn't know about.

First of all they were fast and got the job (chaning fuel pump and filter) done on the same day what was really nice. What grinded my gear was that he ordered the parts befor I knew how much it will be and befor I said yes to the repair. And its overpricey. For the General Check for wich they told us they will have a look at everything, they charged us 130$, but they just looked at the engine it self and nothing else. Furthermore the repair itself didn't took more than 25mins for 2 guys but on the Bill they wrote down way more hours. All in all they get the job done but its expensive. Unluckily there are not many other options. So they can charge a lot to stranded people.

We got stranded on the Grapevine with our truck and trailer when we blew a wheel bearing and it caught on fire! We ended up at Fas auto and thank God we did! Sam was so professional and kind. He was honest about the amount of time he thought it would take to get it repaired. Instead, he got it done two days early so we could still enjoy our trip to Oregon. I shed tears of gratitude that we are still on our way to an awesome vacation. Thank you Sam and your beautiful fianc for not only fixing our trailer but giving us peace of mind for the rest of our trip.Service: General repairs & maintenance

We were stranded for 21.5hrs in Lebec. All the repair shops were closed at 6:30pm on a Sunday. We did not have any brakes and could not go to where we needed to be. We spent the night in our van. The only place that was open was the gas stations they are 24hrs. It was patrolled by police so we did feel safe. Fas automotive opened at 9am Monday morning and was able to get our parts and install them. They do have reasonable rates. I recomend them. Thanks Andew!

If you drop by, you may need to wait before getting anything major done. They may tell you to come back in a few days due to having too many cars and a back up to fix. It is family owned so that is good. They are very reasonable and competitive or they nay give you a referral to another mechanic or vehicle repair if someone does it at a better price. Considering only a handful of places, they can get you back on the road if you are having an immediate need or suggest someone else, if you are traveling.

We had an unexpected breakdown on the Grapevine and were referred to Fas Automotive, after being towed to their shop I'm thankful for their quick Diagnosing of our problem and after finding the parts house not able to deliver until the next day they drove to Valencia and picked up the part for us and reinstalled the new part and had us on our way! I can not say enough good things about this great shop.Thank you so much!Services: Electrical repair, General repairs & maintenance, Electrical, Engine repair

So I had something stuck in the spark plug hole, had the van towed to mags auto across the street from Fas, he quoted me 5200 to redo the heads called around and everyone suggested I bring it to Fas, he fixed it for a fraction of the price.

They were able to bring my my vehicle in without an appointment in the late part of the morning. We got our vehicle back at the end of the next day and the new clutch shifts so much more easily than the one that went out on us. The staff was also very friendly even after our constant questions. Thank you!

When my van broke down on the Grapevine, the tow driver recommended this place so I had him take my vehicle here. Sam (the mechanic) was not able to get the part until the next day, but let me leave my vehicle with him while I got a rental to finish my family vacation with. I picked up my vehicle three days later on our way back home. It worked great, no problems, and his prices were quite reasonable.

The best man on the I-5.My family's van broke down right before the grapevine due to a blown transmission at 1am. My family is dropping me off for my second year of college all the way in Riverside and we're from SF. I looked all over Google for a repair place and with all the reviews, we decided to get it towed there. Our AAA tow man even recommended them too! Other than that, we spent the night there, next morning he took a look at it and told us it needed a new transmission but recommended we rent a car from a shop nearby which we did. Other than that, he got it done in 2 days right before I had to start school and had my family's car back and running for my family's safe trip home. He even stayed 5 hours overtime just to get our family home in time. This is the shop to go. Best service, timing and their dedication is out of this world. Go see Sam and you'll know what everyone on the review page is talking about.

They did great work and they're really nice people, they even give you a ride home/to the shop if you live in the area. Took a day longer than expected and they had to do my oil change last minute but only because they had been super busy. I'd recommend going here instead of Magz auto repair (couldn't get in touch with them again) for sure.

Fantastic service, prices, and people. My car broke down on the side of the freeway after hours and 60+miles from home and they let me leave it over night and fixed it the next day. They were even super kind about making sure someone would be there whenever I could pick it up. I wish I could give them more stars.

My heater hose sprung a leak while coming up the grapevine and I lost all my water and the engine overheated. I'll pulled off the Lebec Road offramp and the auto repair shop was right there. It was 6 o'clock and all the repair shops around there were closing up but this auto repair shop stayed open and fixed the hose, and didn't even want to charge me. I had to force them to take a $100 bill. It was a pleasure to meet the owner and his son. They did me a solid and saved my butt that day.

I wish you could put a zero star review. Where to begin. DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE HERE. My truck broke down on the grapevine, I had it towed to this shop for a turbo replacement, I was excited to hear that sam could fix it same day! I even had them do an oil change while I was there, during the proce of repairing my truck Sam decided that rather than flushing my intercooler properly he would just drill a hole in it and rev my truck until all the oil was out and plug the hole with a screw, then 300 miles later as I m just about to get home I lost all oil pressure, I pulled over and checked my oil, nothing on the dipstick. It lost almost 3 gallons of oil in 300 miles. After investigating to find where the oil went I found the turbo return line was improperly installed in the engine block and the oil was POURING out, after contacting Sam I was told at first he was on vacation but to send pictures, I went days without hearing anything back and only did once I informed him I was contacting the BAR and filing a complaint, I was told by Sam he would look into it, after the two weeks he said he would be on vacation I contacted him once again with the estimate for replacing my engine which his repair effectively destroyed to the response nothing I did . I am now working with the BAR and a lawyer to fight this inept mechanic and get my truck repaired.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Oil change

The Grapevine helped fry the throttle cable on my motorhome. Sam diagnosed and gave us 2 options for repair. It was quite an ordeal but thank God for skinny Samantha and Andrew so they could wiggle in there to fish the cable from back to front. Sam made sure we were put back together and we made it safely on our way. Thank you guys, great work.

They were excellent, great family run business. We broke down and needed an alternator and they were able to get ahold of one same day and fix it for us to get back on the road. Great work, in and out once the part arrived.

We own a 40 motorhome and was driving north on I-5 on the Grapevine when our motorhome engine light came on. My husband found a place on the side of the interstate. We sat there 11 hours before a tow truck large enough to tow our motorhome arrived Fortunately my husband found FAS AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR and called spoke to Sam the owner and he told us to come in as soon as we could get there. If it was after hours he said we could sleep in our RV on his property. We finally arrived at 4:30 am feeling wiped out. When we woke at 9:30 Sam greeted us and went right to work. My father was admitted to the hospital the day before and we were trying to get to Oregon. Sam wasted no time. He had us back on the road the same day. Some of the best service and professionalism I have ever received and I am in the automotive industry!! We fully recommend Sam @ FAS AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR. If it an RV, Truck, or auto they can take care of you THANK YOU SAM

Sam the mechanic was very helpful when I had my car brake down on the i5.My family and I were miles away from home. He listened to my problems and helped me get back on the road with out charging me both and arm and a leg. I would go back to his shop and do when I am in town. Great guy even when we just to stop in to say hi. He evens remembers us.

Had a huge scare with our 2012 Dodge Durango pulling a trailer. Heard really bad squeaking in the front drivers side wheel. They took us in super fast, listened to what was going on, and let us know it was just dirty break pads. I love how honest and true he is. He wouldn t even accept a tip for his service. Our family appreciates everything about this company! Good ol fashion American service done with honesty and integrity. GINORMOUS THANKS!

My husband and I blew a tire going up the grapevine in our RV at 5pm. I called FAS Automotive and after I explained our situation the woman said to head on over. This father and daughter team are awesome, they worked together and the best part is they have the same name!! Sam and Samantha were our heroes! They made the experience fun and, in our time of desperation, made us feel important. Even though Samantha told me she had just hurt her knee she did so much to lend a helping hand and her father was right by her side. They've owned this shop for 16 years and I can see why, they're such a humbled and witty family you almost have to love them! We were out of there by 6pm and will definitely go here again. Thank you both for proving that American small business is still worth shopping at!!

Our family feels so fortunate to have a trusted mechanic shop in Lebec to keep our vehicles running smoothly. We've been relying on FAS Auto Repair for many years now for all our vehicle maintenance and repairs. FAS Auto is a major reason that I feel confident keeping my 16-year-old hard working truck to pull my horse trailer instead of trading it in for new truck payments.

Sam and the crew at FAS are a top notch shop. We broke down going up the grapevine and was towed to his yard with 30 minutes left on the hours of operation. We were going to a Celebrate Recovery Summit @ Saddleback Church and couldn't stay overnight. Sam: 1. Repaired the vehicle (Radiator) 2. Did the job correctly. 3. Stayed 3 hours over his normal hours. 4. And even though he would have been justified to have charged us more knowing that we were in a bind and him staying late, did NOT! 5. He had us on the road in less than 3 hours and we made the conference. Sam is a man of integrity, and an honest mechanic. If you are a local resident or a stranded traveler (like in our case) it would be in your best interest to have Sam be your mechanic. May God bless him and FAS Automotive!

Truly appreciated the father/son operation in the middle of almost-nowhere. They accomplished a major engine repair on a 2001 Durango which ran great as it returned to Colorado. Hard-working and honest people you can trust!

Avoid this shop like the plague or you will be sorry, they wanted almost two thousands bucks an estimate to fix my car without asking me first they go ahead and tried to get it done what seems in a hurry to push it, (Sam the owner) I told them NO and then tried to get like $65 for diagnostic which by the way they not even put the car inside the garage ,they just plug a cheap scanner to the obd2 port in the parking lot and try to get $65? It s a scam, I can scan my car too like that. All the car needed to get it fixed was a less than 100 dls part, and boom problem fixed, I see how people get scammed in these places because they are desperate when their car brakes down sadly there s NO shop in the area HONEST , people take care of your car maintenance so you don t become scammed for this low class wanna be mechanics , even as simple as a tire fix they don t do it right ,they fix with a plug , which you could do for 5 bucks, just keep one in your car.

After long grade leading to the Grapevine, began steep ascent. About two miles up heard beep and a red "Check Engine" light was on. Looked at temp gauge and it was pegged on hot end. Pulled off immediately, and shut down engine as copious steam was coming from under the hood. It cooled off in ten minutes and I added 2 quarts water. Then decided to call AAA instead of driving it. Edmond's towing showed up and I left it in their locked yard and I checked into Motel 6. Yelp and Google rated the shop next to them (MAGZ) ok so I thought I'd have their shop look at it in AM. At the motel I looked closer at the Google ratings and noticed that two of their ratings on Google were from the front desk girl and the owner. In the morning I decided to drive it to FAS Automotive which was right around the corner. Andrew (son of the owner and soon to take over the shop) and TJ (their front man and semi accountant) took good care of me. Andrew's knowledge of auto mechanics borders on savant. Got his mud together.Andrew had TJ pull the computer codes before he got there. Then he checked to see if the auxiliary fan was working (it was) then he ran a a pressure test. He noticed the test cap leaked and found the flange on the fill tube was crimped and wouldn't allow the cap to seal. He bent it back in place and it worked fine. He also noticed a depression on the uppermost rim of the radiator fill tube that would not maintain pressure in the radiator if things got hot enough to push fluid into the overflow.Andrew told me that because the wind comes up the canyon from north to south there isn't much air flow for the radiator.Since I had added a lot of water to the coolant they drained the radiator and filled with fresh antifreeze. So they spent a little over an hour working on it, filled it with fresh antifreeze and charged me less that the hourly rate at the first place I went. I continue to be a happy guy. Of course I'd be even happier if none of it would have happened.
