Some of the absolute best service I have ever encountered reguarding car work!! They are so very helpful and gave me regular updates when my transmission went into a safe mode and I couldn't shift out of park. Then electrical issues popped up but they were more than willing to help resolve the issues and get it all fixed up! The prices were amazing and I just couldn't be happier! The whole team is wonderful! They are very respectful and easy to talk to. Thank you guys so much to the team in Lawndale!!

I was looking for a new place for vehicle maintenance, since my Hyundai dealership needs 4 weeks for me to make an appointment. This AAMCO was highly recommended by by son-in-law. Met with Vince and Dave and their team took care of my problems quickly and I have great confidence in their work.

Great service, great prices, great staff, and the best 36 month or 36,000 mile warranty. Vince and staff really did a great job. Even the office coffee was great. In the future they will be my first choice for service.

My car died due to a transmission failure, so I had it towed to this location after hours. The guys there were totally cool about it - provided me a quote within hours. They gave me two options for repair, and since both exceeded the value of my car I opted to donate it to a charity instead. They let me continue to keep my car in the lot until the tow came to haul it away. Even though I didn t end up using their services I had an exceptionally good experience working with the people there.

Take my 2016 ram promaster city to do the transmission oil service got charge 390 for a drain ad fill and they add the wrong fluid owner doesent want to take responsability or replace it with the correct one. He even said trus me ammco has 75 years on the transmission bussines but aparently they do not know what they are doing. Dont take your car there.

Man oh man where do I start, this place, the owner and workers has been nothing but good and honest with me, they communicated the entire time efficiently, they broke down everything that needed to be done. They were always very professional. Before coming to Aamco I took my Infiniti to the dealership, because I wanted to make sure my car was treated delicately. Unfortunately the Infiniti service department couldn t get it together, and I ended up having the worse experience EVER!!! so I towed my baby (car)from that dealership to aamco in Lawndale, and it was the best decision ever!!! They fixed my transmission valve body, which was a pretty penny, (aamco still was the best price and I mean about $600 cheaper ) and after it was fixed it ran smoothly. Days later I was so happy with their service, so I wanted them to fix a fluid leak (cracked radiator) that had pervious from an accident I had a couple months ago, and Aamco ordered my parts late in the evening and fix my baby up right up and was able to get back on the road the next day. again . Aamco still had the best prices I am beyond happy, grateful and satisfied with the service I received, They definitely have a loyal customer for life!!!Thank you to the entire team, and big shoutout to the Owner!!!!Services: Transmission, Air & cabin filter replacement

My clutch went out on my manual vehicle and I took it in to the store and they diagnosed my vehicle. The store was really nice and professional and they helped me along the way with my repairs and my financial options. I brought my car in a few months ago because my check engine light was on. They have a deal going that they will check that light for free. They then drove me to work while they tested my car. They did have to run a diagnostic test but did not charge me for it (would have been $150). In the end, they did the repair quickly and the total cost was around $200 for fixing a leak in my gas line and a new gas cap. I have definitely seen a difference in the way my car functions. Before, the sensor on the gas pump would always shut off as if the tank was full if I wasn't pushing it into the car. Now, however, I do not need to do that, I am guessing it has to do with the leak that they fixed. My only issue with them was communication the day the car was being fixed. I was at work and I had to call them on the few 10 minute breaks I got because they had not called me with any information. I had to find out if I could pick the car up on my lunch break. It all worked out in the end but communication could definitely be improved.They also offered me a free oil change and just brought it in again this past month to have that done. I made an appointment and actually missed it. I came in the next day after calling to ask if it was ok, and they got me in and out in about 20 minutes. Staff is very nice.

They were unprofessional . They overcharged me costing me 5,000 . Frank is a crook he stated he put a rebuild transmission in which was a lie . I change my own transmission fluid so I can tell by the color of the silicone that I used on the transmission oil pan it was still the same when I got it back from my anthem so they never gave me a new transmission or it would build one I would not recommend this place to anybody

Brought my 2015 Kia optima, they did a thorough engine diagnostic and turned out I needed to get a complete engine replacement. My car is driving better than ever. These guys are great and are very professional with communicating and giving updates on everything going on. First time using this garage, Cindy was very welcoming! My transmission for my Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 V10 was serviced, a filter and oil change, plus the oil changed for the motor and a throttle cable adjustment, it was done by end of work day after I left it in the morning. My truck runs great! There had been a shift issue that the Dodge dealer in Torrance created long ago and now that problem is gone! Won't have a problem bringing my vehicles back to this location for future problems.Services: Transmission, Oil change

These guys are not on the same page, the one who took my phone call said it wouldn't be an issue to work on my truck the next day after explaining the issue with my transmission. Once I showed up at opening the person who was there refuse to work on my transmission because I had an upgraded torque converter All I wanted was to solenoids swapped out it's a simple one-hour job, I'm l down here working and don't have the time or placed to do it and he refused to take my vehicle. He said simply put they will not work on any transmission unless it is 100% stock even though the one I spoke to on the phone said it would not be a problem.

Vince and he team are experts at what they do. They went through hell with my extended warranty company, Olive, and still remained positive, helpful, and still got the job done. A couple weeks later my car began leaking, due to a separate problem, and they took care of me in no time. This is my fourth time visiting this AAMCO and I've been consistently impressed with the quality of service, speed, and professionalism. This time I was just in for another oil change and they saw that one of the CV boots was torn pretty bad. I'm bad with cars and had a bad experience with a mechanic a couple years ago that made me have a hard time trusting other mechanics. I appreciate how the staff here shows me the problem. They walked me under the car, pointed out the tear in the boot, and I could clearly see how it contrasted with the good boot on the other side. They didn't try to scare me into getting a new one. I read some forums online while they were doing the work and confirmed that the work really was necessary (especially for the road trip I'm doing leaving for on Wednesday!). They were able to go pick up the parts and do the work quickly. I'm very satisfied with their service once again!!

These guys are top notch. Vince was fair and honest. He took care of my transmission that was built at another Aamco with no hassle and it had less than a week left on the warranty. I can't stand getting the usual shake down from auto mechanics and thankfully, I was spared the song and dance. These are solid folks. My car is running smoothly and I am happy. I highly recommend.

I went pep boys they we going to charge me $1200 just for labor alone. Aamco gave me a really great deal and they're now my go to guys. Great job. I had the Best experience with the team at Aamco on Melrose in Los Angeles.I took my 1994 Honda Accord with over 230,000 miles on it to Aamco on Melrose. I had a problem that most other mechanics I talked to had never heard of: The horn would go off when I pressed on the brake.This was not the only issue I had with my car, The shifter wouldn't move out of park and the brake lights were also not working.The manager quickly put my mind at ease when he said their specialty was fixing cars on their last leg; like mine.They called me the next day and said they fixed the car and replaced the part, and not only that but they also did a free diagnostics check and told me there were some other issues I should be aware of and gave me their quote.I thanked them and took my car.I have never had such a great feeling leaving a mechanic before. Once I have enough to do the repairs they suggested I will definitely take my car back to Aamco Transmissions.Big Thanks to the the Aamco on Melrose team!!!

These guys are AMAZING! They recently had to move from their Western location which was close to my house. I had to have some work done on my car and they were extremely helpful in orchestrating a tow to get my care there, AND BACK!!! Vince and Jamie are very approachable, knowledgeable, and friendly! These guys deserve your business! What a great addition to the city of Lawndale!

I used AAMCO for the first time several months ago. I was getting ready to leave on a trip and my clutch ate itself at the worst possible time. Since moving to LA two years ago I had not had luck finding a reliable shop, and I just scrambled to find anything with any sort of brand name recognition, and cause I was in a tight spot I would of been content with pretty much anything.But these guys went WAY above my expectations. It was after hours (and on a Saturday) when I broke down, so all of this was handled over the phone. In fact, I didn't even meet anyone in the shop until I went to pick my car up. But they fixed everything I needed and nothing I didn't, they had it done by that Monday, they did it with a friendly tone, they did it for a very reasonable price, and they did it without me checking in or breathing down their back. I have in the past- and notably in LA- worked with shops that need you constantly calling for them to keep your car a priority, but even with a steady stream of cars in their lot that is not the case at AAMCO. They helped me out of a really stressful situation instead of exploiting the fact that I was relying on them. It's a huge stress relief to know that while I'm living here I have a shop I can trust and feel confidant sending others to.

Stay clear of this place, especially Women. The Manager, Vincent, is a real jerk. Took my car in for check engine light and they totally ripped me off. They took pictures while they were supposedly repairing my car, but it was not my car. Drove my car less than 5 miles after picking it up from again supposedly being repaired, and the check engine light came back on. I took it back and the manager refused to fix it or give me my money back. LADIES Beware!!!! Go somewhere else. This place deserves a zero rating.

Had my Check Engine light on for a while and finally decided to check it out. Took my 96 Corolla here and was helped by Jaime and Vince, very friendly and professional. Took less than 10 minutes and they told me there wasn't any problems with it, even showing me the steps they took to confirm what they just told me.Would highly recommend coming here.
