Found out that a tree fell on my condo rental six days before the start of my vacation. Thankfully, there was still availability at Huntington Lake Resort Cabins. I booked it immediately without doing a lot of research. Then, when my family started reading reviews, I pretty much had a mutiny on my hands. I'll admit that there were quite a few exceptional reviews. So I told my family they could do whatever they wanted, but I was going to Huntington Lake. Eventually, they warmed up to my plan and we are all here now and having a great time.And, the bad reviews proved to be exaggerated. We are in a two-bedroom cabin. It is clean. All the windows are fine and all have screens. The bathroom and kitchen have been recently renovated: new sink, new shower, and new toilet (which works fine). Toilet paper, hand soap, shampoo, etc., are provided. All four burners on the stove work. We haven't tried the oven. It's not like we're planning to bake. There's a microwave, coffee maker, and a regular refrigerator/freezer (not a mini-fridge). The place has plenty of sleeping space: three queens and a twin. Even my finicky family members say the beds are comfortable and the sheets are clean.The rental is obviously meant for sleeping and light cooking, as it is otherwise sparsely furnished. That said, there aren't utensils, plates, etc., or bath towels. No wifi at the cabin either. However, there also aren't any critters of any kind, not even the mouse that other reviews mentioned (not that I'd mind - it's a cabin in the woods after all).Rooms: Plenty of comfy beds and clean sheets.Food & drinks: The restaurant is a five minute walk from the cabin. The service is good. So far, I have only gotten a milkshake, ice cream and cheese fries. All were good.The wifi at the restaurant is good too. I was able to attend a zoom meeting inside my car parked near the restaurant. Also, the restaurant patio doesn't get very crowded, has comfy chairs, and a great view of the lake.

We pretty much live at Huntington Lake in the summer and watched the different flexes over the years. Despite the changes, the things we love still hold true: it's the best patio and view in the lake. The food is always great to fantastic. The ice cream. And did i say ice cream? Someone always gets the stellar burger. The photos represent the Huntington Cobb and the Seared Salmon with grilled veggies and chimichurri. So delicious. Enjoy!

2022 is our second year to rent a slip for our boat in this marina. My family loves the new staff at the restaurant! The food is good quality and delicious. The prices are not cheap but the food is worth it! Sure, you can find better food for the price in a big city but considering that the location is 7000+ feet in elevation, the food is wonderful. The staff is so friendly! Frank and his rescue dog Buddy(terrier and corgi mix) work for the marina and they are amazing, very helpful and friendly. We just love seeing Buddy working to help Frank get the boats ready for rental. On Saturday, you will hear live music while enjoying cocktails, food, and beautiful scenery!

We went here for lunch, and everything was really good. The hamburgers were really fresh and tasted delicious. The fries and onion rings were really good too. The food was definately worth the short wait, which passed quickly as we enjoyed sitting in the deck with a beautiful lake view.Overall... great job!!

Love this little spot. The workers are all very kind and the food is absolutely amazing. It's the best food on the mountain to me.Food & drinks: Milkshakes are delicious and the food is phenomenal. Tastes fresh and filled with flavor

The deck seating is relaxing and beautiful. Food service is slow, but that is OK....it's mountain time and supposed to be a less frenetic pace. We always have enjoyed some leisurely time spent there. Another plus, it is pet friendly, too.

I have visited this facility many, many times over the years. It seems like there are new folks staffing the place every year. The food is usually decent and a bit pricey for regular burger shack fare. These folks do a good job with ice-cream cones. The fries are wonderful. The drink selection is average. The patio seating is nice and the view is refreshing. The bathrooms and parking are ok and there is wheelchair access. I'd give it a 3.5 out of 5.

The meals at the bar and grill are amazing. We went several times, all were cooked to perfection- shrimp po-boy, cheese burgers & fries, rack of ribs w/ roasted corn, and the steak frites- amazing ribeye! Ice cream is premium Open Thursday- Sunday and had local guitarist on Saturday evening. Nice selection of beer and wines. You don t have to be staying at the little cabins. We just walked down from lower Billy Creek camp

During our recent stay at Huntington Lake (camping trip), we visited the Lake Resort Marina a few times. The staff is very hard-working with a drive to ensure each guest is satisfied.We enjoyed beers, snacks, meals, and desserts out on the wood deck overlooking Huntington Lake. The menu had something for everyone and tasted delicious. The selection of beers and treats was wide.There is a small parking lot with room for about 10 vehicles. The bathrooms are clean and well-stocked. We even were able to purchase ice for our cooler whole camping. The store at the resort had a wide selection of souvenirs and clothing representing the local attractions. The price matched the value for everything been purchased.

Wonderful! Cabins are rustic. Very clean. Nestled among trees at the edge of the forest. No bugs whatsoever. Nice kitchenette & outdoor grill. Pleasant short walk to nearby marina & restaurants with great lake access and places to sit and relax at marina, both on raised deck & at picnic tables at water s edge. Has a boat launch. Can also rent canoes, kayaks, small row/motor boats for pleasure/fishing. Restaurants include a short order restaurant, open every day & serves breakfast, lunch, dinner. Menu has good variety & includes vegetarian options, adult beverages. Garden burger was best I ve had. Enjoyed veggie omelette. Also has a fine dining restaurant, open Friday & Saturday 5-8 with excellent food, live music, inside or outdoor seating around fire pits.

I came here as a kid, and it was just as beautiful as I remembered. Last year's Creek fire wreaked havoc on the surrounding area, but do not let that deter you from going- it is pristine and lovely. The water is cool this time of year (July) but not too cold; great for tubing, kayaking and paddle boarding. Since my last visit, they have now allowed motor boats on the lake- used to only be sail boats- so now various water sports can be enjoyed. There is a restaurant at the marina which has a surprising array of food choices; I had a watermelon salad with feta and mint, most of my group had the trout and they even had some middle eastern fare! The shakes were good, too. Hours are limited.The marina utself is pretty small, but they have various boating vehicles for rent; kayaks, canoes, paddle boards and a few pontoons. Decently priced for half and full days.No grocery store that I could see, so if you need something you probably would have to head down the mountain a bit to Shaver- it is more touristy and accommodating.The only down side I would say, is that you cannot dock on the little islands, scattered throughout the lake. We paddle boarded out there, and it was so fun exploring them- like Tom Sawyer Island at Disney! Hopefully they will change that.Also lots of wildlife! There were many deer, and I even saw a bear!There are condos and cabins that surround the lake, and some decent camping spots that are right on the water! But those fill up really fast.

Didn't know that the season was over and everything closed. Wish the website had said that. No cell service, a tiny bit of sporadic wifi. Lake had been almost drained. I'm sure it's beautiful when full and in season. Must have just caught it. Late.

We come here every time we are camping at lower Billy Creek. We always enjoy the ice cream. But today the service was not great. We ordered ice cream and knew we had to wait a little bit. But the only person serving ended up taking at least two more orders before fulfilling ours.

Older female was rude, it took 40 minutes to get a bacon cheeseburger and fries. As I checked every 15 min on my order. Older female was not very nice and started giving me an attitude. Then when I had to go back to work and asked for my meal to be put in to go boxes she basically threw the bag on the counter and didn't say a word...No apology...Nothing. Not going back!!!

Really disappointed as soon as you walk in the horrible smell cleanliness very bad I had rented other cabins nothing like this beds were not changed and pillow cases were stained mattresses were very dirty. In the kitchen the oven did not worked or microwaved the walls seem like they are falling apart there was a lot of dirt underneath the beds and mattresses seems like they had not cleaned in months walls and roof were falling apart the place really needs an upgrade and to top it off there is rats inside the house could not sleep due to the noise they made. Feeling really disgusted and not worth the money that I paid.

This place was terrible! So dirty! Bugs and hair in our bed, hair in shower, dirty mirror in the bathroom, gas off in the stove (gas leak? Nobody could say why). No coffee maker or BBQ as stated online. We opted not to stay the 2nd night because we were so grossed out! The manager on the phone said she couldn't refund us for the second night because we agreed to stay there!Awful customer service. Terrible terrible. Awful filthy place! And they charged us for cleaning the place after we left. Is that a laugh or what!

The only thing they have going for them is the view of the lake. Food was mediocre. I've seen homeless pull better burgers out the trash. 4.00 for a can of soda. Really?!!! And it was just a regular can not some foriegn import. Just soda. Personalities are dry. Like a cheap wine. I spent 96.00 for a meal I could have gotten at burger king for 25.00 and chocked it down easier than trying to sample slimy mussles. No thanks will not be back to this place.

Rented a boat from the marina on a busy day, the staff was friendly even though they were swamped and still made check in and getting to the boat a quick and easy process. Upon return of our 4 hr boat rental they were still friendly and asked if we had a good time. Love they were still interested in our day and experience.

We rented the pontoon boat for a 4 hour duration. After 1.5 hours The boat died and would not start. The cook had to come get us with another boat. We talked to the manager of the resort and he said he would request 1/2 of our money be refunded for the rental and would call me. I waited a week for something to happen and there was no call and no refund. So I called and left a message with someone to have the manager call me. It s been 3 days now and still no call.Additionally, the boat was disgusting and unsafe. The seats were ripped and there was dirt from worm containers in the cup holders and the doors wouldn t stay closed while we were driving. Small children could fall out anytime.

They have a restaurant here. However don't get in a hurry. Place your order and wait about 30 or 45 minutes to receive it. While you're waiting enjoy the views of the lake. It's extremely relaxing in the food is decent.

The cabin had mouse droppings everywhere.They were in with the the plates and forks etc....Dishes were put in cupboard dirty. The cupboards were filthy.The toilet only flushed when we filled tank with water.Pipes leaking from sinks in bathroom and kitchen.We would have left if not for Covid19 and no other lodgings. Our family vacation was a disaster due to the cabins condition.The lake was beautiful.The best part of our time at Huntington Lake.We do not recommend staying at this "resort". LOL!

First Family vacation and wow what a depressing place to stay. We checked in at the restaurant and then headed up to cabin and let me tell you how scary it was. The smell when you walk in was musty and weird. The tiny kitchen didn t have a working oven and one burner worked on top with the help of a match. The drawers and cub boards were loaded with mouse poop and dirt oh and water leaking to floor from under scary sink. Then the bathroom. Water on floor from leaking sink and toilet. You couldn t put TP in toilet because it wouldn t flush if you did. The only good thing about this cabin was the bedding. Extremely unsatisfied!!!!!

Customer had their dog standing on a table that people eat off of. I said something to the customer and the cook staff interrupted and said he works there and he lets people have their dogs on the tables all the time. I suspect the cook does not have the correct training to legally work in a restaurant. Anyone who has a dog and knows what they do with their feet know that's unhygienic. It grossed me out enough that I changed my mind about eating lunch there.

Great spot for lunch, to take a swim, rent a boat, or just talk with de-stressed folks. George, Frank, Jose and the staff are there to help with anything. Even after hours! I had the chicken fingers, (great fries btw), but everyone was raving about the burgers. Oh and free WiFi!

I don't know what some people are talking about. Theres no bar, so there's no mixed drinks. The food is terrible because they hire people who don't know how to cook. The boats are all in terrible condition. The cabins are in terrible shape except the new ones (the view, #3 & #4).I wouldn't pay to stay here.If you don't know who I am , I was the boat guy from the summer of 2016. I'll never work there again.

We reserved a boat and paid for it through their online service. When we arrived to go fishing they did not have our boat and instead had rented it to someone else! The nice gentleman who was working said that ALL of their boats were double booked, and DOUBLE PAID FOR!!!! DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE UNLESS YOU CAN SEE THE BOAT YOU WILL GET!!!! Or you can just go elsewhere!

This place is awesome! Camped right next door and came for ice, they have I've cold beer fir sale and an awesome deck to sit and enjoy the view of the lake! Hidden treasure!!
