10/10/2023I had an appointment at 949 Auto Repair in Laguna Hills this morning and just can't day enough about the amazing people, service, and value. Gary, Mike, Scott, and all of the certified, knowledgeable, and skilled technicians are stellar at what they do. If you are looking for total transparency, honesty, credibility, and knowledge, look no further as 949 Auto Repair us simply the best. In my 47 years of driving autos and trucks, these guys are simply the best. 949 Auto Repair is my go-to for all automotive repair and maintenance needs, and if you are looking for the best, give Gary, Mike, or Scott a call.Highly recommended.5/5/2023Simply the best! If you are looking for skilled technicians, amazing customer service and fair pricing on all of your automotive repair and maintenance needs, look no further as 949 automotive is the answer. Gary, Michael and Scott are top shelf professionals, honest and caring as they treat their customers like family. I took my truck in for an electrical issue, brakes and a window issue and Michael was truly amazing in his overall assessment, timeline estimate and most importantly his communication throughout the repair process. I have used many automotive shops in the past and clearly 949 gets the gold medal and 5 stars. I highly recommend 949 automotive and will continue to see then for all of my automotive needs.Latest visit 8/19/2022I reached out to Gary and made an appointment for some intake work on my Ford f150 for today. Gary is always so gracious and scheduled my vehicle for today at 9 a.m. I spoke with Scott and Mike T. was the technician who did the work. I have been to so many shops in my 46 years of driving and I just can't say enough positives about 949 Automotive as they are at a level that most shops don't ever reach. Honesty, transparency, cleanliness, top notch technicians and stellar management. This is probably the best automotive service shop in the OC. Gary the owner and his professional team are nothing short of stellar. If you want an automotive shop that is transparent, kind, knowledge, competitive and most of all honest and trustworthy, this is the place.Their pricing is fair and they will check out your entire vehicle and give you a check-up on the overall mechanical condition and any recommendations always accompanied by an estimate that is fair and competitive. These guys are great! Trustworthy and reasonable prices. I waited until last minute to get my car looked at before a big trip. I was freaking out and they were able to squeeze me in same day and get my repairs done. Best part is the price was lower than expected. It s nice to leave a mechanic shop and not feel like you ve been hustled. Thanks guys!

Thanks Mike for taking care of my Tesla! He s an experienced mechanic who loves to challenge himself, which is why he took on my case to fix some control arms on my Tesla. I contacted several shops before here and they all turned me down the instant I mentioned the word Tesla. I provided the parts for Mike and he got it done for me same day! He and the team at 949 auto repair are extremely cooperative and we re great communicating with. Please consider coming here if you ever need your Tesla worked on. Cheaper, faster, and way more friendly than teslas service center.

I did a prepurchase purchase inspection for a used car yesterday and they were very helpful and kind. The price for the inspection was very reasonable, it took little less than one hour and a half. They gave the list of items that needs to be replaced/fixed and provided the estimate cost which was very helpful

I just moved to South County after an unfortunate separation with my fiance during the COVID crises. This was not in any way an ideal time to be shopping for an automobile with no wheels of my own at the time to shop. I got really lucky to find the shop was selling there loaner SUV Ford Escape. I dealt with the owner Gary directly and was very impressed by his personality of integrity, honesty, and what seemed of genuine concern for my situation. Not only did I get a great SUV but I found my mechanic and service shop at the same time. I would refer these guys to anyone. I have since taken the car back for minor service where I was again taken care of very nicely!

Mike was very helpful! He was upfront about the price, clearly communicated what was being fixed, and finished within a day. I would definitely recommend these guys if you need your car fixed. Hands down best mechanic I've ever been to in this state and everywhere else Ive lived.These guys are an extremely rare breed! They will give you HONEST feedback and will even tell you if it's not time to replace something yet, instead of just taking your money.I had two major repairs done here..both were over $2000. However, I shopped several mechanics for both repairs. Auto 949 was CHEAPER by about $500 than the next cheapest mechanic. Their prices are actually VERY FAIR.Think of these guys like a small town mechanic that everyone knows & trusts, except they're located centrally in Orange County!

I recently brought my Mercedes C400 in for a 30k service. Gary the owner and Mike were outstanding providing prompt and professional service in a clean and friendly customer oriented environment.Mike took the time to explain each charge for parts and service and the money I had saved by bringing my vehicle here versus the dealer.I highly recommend the business for all your service needs!Steve J.

Gary showed up about an hour before opening and took my car in for me without any hesitation. Mike Tran oversees and/or does all the repair work on my car. He is always honest and up front about any service my car has needed. I have a car with over 302,000 miles and Mike Tran is amazing and keeps that car going! They are the absolute BEST! I highly recommend this place for any and all repairs and maintenance.

Scott answered the phone, was totally backed up, and yet took the time to make sure that I knew (as a first time customer) all about a fully synthetic oil change for my wife s 2008 Corvette, and he got it done in less than half the time he estimated. He let me know about another small problem, but wasn t in the least pushy. They even honored a coupon I found online. The price was less than any of the other places I could have gone to, and I would recommend Scott to anyone. He s got my business AND it s even within walking distance! I hope this helps anyone in need of good professional service. I have 4 other cars that will be going in his direction. Ask for Scott!

Scott was one of the kindest, most helpful customer service employees I've had the pleasure of giving my money to. Gave me an estimate before the job, and answered my questions on why the price was what it was. All around felt satisfied with my service from this shop and the employees representing it. Sorry it took so long for me to drop a review for ya'll like I promised, Scott! ;)

These guys are amazing! The owner personally took care of me for an oil change on my bmw, pointed out that my license plate light was out and replaced it on the spot! The owner also did a diagnosis on my brakes and gave me a very affordable rate to change out my rotors and wear sensors. On top of everything they already did, they let me know how my belts, hoses and fluids looked at no additional charge. Very friendly service and now that I know they also do other service to bmw I will definitely be coming back here for all my service needs.

They are fair, not the cheapest, but work hard and honest for their money. In my opinion they don't have a upsell policy for-not-unnecessarily-at that-time-needed repairs on your car like other local tire stores "recommendations" and it shows.They charge for estimates.

Took about an hour for my car to have an oil change, inspection and full wash with hand detailing. Not bad. Good prices. I recommend

Price gouging. Used to pay 30 bucks for an oil change. Now same model car 73 dollars. Constant attempts to upsell unnecessary tune ups. Went here for 10 years. Today was last time. This place has gone down the tubes

I went to get a tune up on my honda hybrid. The tune up consists in changing the air filter,�spark plugs. Tune-ups may also include replacement of the fuel filter, oxygen sensor, PCV valve, and spark plug wires. My car since it's a hybrid it has 8 spark plugs. I had to leave my car overnight and to think I went to all the trouble so they can ripe me off they didnt change nothing except 4 spark plugs,but my car has 8. My car started to shake on the freeway so I took it somewhere else and that mecanic showed me what they didnt do. I'm so frustrated because I paid two hundred for the tune up and they just change 4 sparkplug that's not a tune up. Well for that I honestly won't be coming back.

Alex, the manager, said my car had a crack in the heater core. They could do a temporary repair for $50. However, there was a new law that a by-pass hose could not be used to pass a smog check. It would take a $600 repair to pass a smog check.I talked to another mechanic. He said no.
