As a mom looking for a clean, enjoyable place to take kids to the snow, I could not recommend this place more! Clean and so much room to spread out. Great kitchen that is stocked so well to cook easy meals for the family. Great service and general manager was so kind and welcoming. Amazing place for a great price. Looking forward to bringing extended family for a longer snow trip.

This place is the real deal. Very cozy room, everything we needed for family fun and relaxation. Staff was friendly and there was always something for the kids to look forward to, movie nights, ice cream social, ping pong, pool table. Walk across the street to all the charming shops, brewery and eateries downtown June offers. Loved our stay!

We stopped off here for one night before heading to Yosemite. June Lake was a lovely town and the Inn is right next to shops and some restaurants. The staff were really friendly and the rooms were big and clean, with a full kitchen which was great. The jacuzzi area was great too. The night we were there they also had free ice cream for guests which was a lovely touch and added to the family run feel of the place.Rooms: Big rooms which have a full kitchen, tv, bathroom with a bath/shower. Bedroom with double bedWalkability: Right beside the town, could walk everywhereFood & drinks: Shops, restaurants and a local brewery nearby

Absolutely don't know how this place is rated so well. I do love the aesthetic, and the staff were nice. I do have to give it to them for having an actual kitchen, fridge, and a dishwasher (what!?) However, the rooms are dated, doors can be hard to open, and we had absolutely no sleep with the loud creaking windows. They also had to put the head of the bed right by them. If we got to sleep even a little, the review would perhaps be different.Rooms: Rooms come with kitchens (stove, microwave, sink, freezer and fridge, dishwasher). Sofa bed is uncomfortable. Headboard of the bed is right next to a very, very creaky window on windy nights.Walkability: June lake is a small town. Heidelberg Inn is in the heart of it, where you're right next to restaurants (i.e. Tiger Bar and pizza) and the June Lake Brewery. Relatively close to the neighborhood grocery store.

The Heidelberg Inn was a great place to stay. It was clean and roomy. Kitchenette was a bonus to store drinks and food. The bed was comfortable with a TV and cable to enjoy falling asleep too.It was close walking distant to restaurant, bar and convenience store. The staff was friendly, cheerful and helpful. Sitting out side at the patio was a treat with a beautiful view to enjoy while sunning yourself.

Coming here for summers the last 37 years to Heidelberg Inn located in beautiful June Lake CA surrounded by breathtaking views. Quaint, quiet and comfortable with a kitchen unit in the room. There's also a jacuzzi, game room and a huge fireplace on the property. Across the street are small town stores, a couple restaurants and three lakes. Many things to do like drive to Mammoth or Yosemite. Visit craters, hot springs, fish, horseback ride or ski nearby. Or do nothing but take in the view. Home away from home.

We had a great stay at The Heidelberg Inn.The location is idilliac, just a few minutes away from some (few) shops and from June lake. The hotel has a very nice spa and sauna, all free of charge. Having a hot bath watching the mountains and the sunset was priceless. Also, there was a leisure room which was aweome. We played table tennis, snooker, mini basketball. We had so much fun.The room was big and clean. The furniture is a bit old but we loved it and wit fits perfectly the ambience. The room also had a nice kitchenette that was just perfect since the hotel didn't offer breakfast. The only negative for us was the sofa bed which wasn't very comfortable to sleep on.But overall, a great stay. Plus the city (June lake) is really pretty. We would love to go back one day

We really enjoyed our stay here while visiting June lake! We love the entire decor and look of the resort from the lobby to the room. The lobby has a warm feeling to it. There is plenty of lounging around the massive beautiful fireplace in lobby. There is also an area where you can watch TV and socialize with other hotel guests. The entire resort is kept very clean. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They have a onsite laundry room which is complimentary! Huge plus! There is a rec room with table tennis, a pool table and some arcade games which is really nice once the sun sets. Our room had a nice view to the lake. Very close to all surrounding stores, restaurants and activities. This will be our go to resort when visiting the area.

Beautiful June lake. Very clean, hot tub was hot, sauna was dry heat. This would be ideal in the Winter. Big huge open fireplace in the middle of the lobby. If you have difficulty climbing stairs there are about 20 stairs to climb in the lobby to get to the second floor. I have disabilities and the inn accommodated me with a downstairs unit. I did reserve in advance however it usually depends on how busy they are. Have a great time

We booked through Air BnB but the staff at the Inn were very accommodating. We had a very late check in (after midnight) and they had a good system for getting us in. Rooms were large enough for small families, full kitchen, but our dishwasher didn't work. They have a laundry room but you can't use it until after 4pm because room service is using it. The general manager was extremely helpful with local June Lake info, and info about Yosemite. The inn is right next to town where you can get food and hit the general store.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Heidelberg. We loved our room, it was warm and comfy and had everything we needed. The beds were comfy and warm. The highlight was hanging by the amazing fireplace sipping a red and looking up at the huge Californian bear! Great restaurants and shops just down the road. Although we weren't brave enough to get in the hot tub, the view from there was mind blowing. The weather was freezing and snowy and the gorgeous views we awoke to of soaring granite mountains, snow covered rooftops and freshly cleared streets was just amazing. The staff were friendly and helpful, and I hope that one day we can return.

The location is great, but some renovation would be nice. The place has a unique old fashioned atmosphere, but feels dusty for me.The crew was helpful.

(5 Stars if they had AC.) We visited during August 2020. Apparently, it typically doesn't get warm enough to warrant air conditioning. However, the windows can be opened to let in some of that glorious mountain air. We did ok with the portable fan that was provided.Being Covid19 time, our priority was cleanliness - which they excelled at.We had single queen suite with a small closet and dual nightstands. They even provided a bedside flashlight, which I've never experienced. How thoughtful. I'll think of this place everytime I use it.Just kidding! The kitchen was fully equipped with medium sized fridge, stove, blender, coffee maker, cook ware and utensils - along with complete set of dining ware.Dining table for four and small lounging / TV area. View of the hillside southward. (From our town strolling, we saw no lodging that offered much of a lake view. Too bad.)Right in the middle of town and definitely within walking distance of local businesses and restaurants - maybe eight in all.We didn't know about the history of the place - being a celebrity haunt since its beginnings a hundred years ago. B&W photos of movie stars adorn the walls, testmony of its glory days. It has a grand (though not large) central gathering area with a once upon a time "largest four sided fireplace in the world."Yes, the place has been renovated - so you're not staying in hundred year old rooms. That said, the cottage cheese ceilings are dated, but in fine condition and freshly painted.Seb was our host - friendly, gracious and accommodating. We would definitely return. Hopefully someday when we could mingle at the lodge bar and the well appointed seating area around the fireplace.

Very cozy and clean. Nice and quiet but very close to everything. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. All the charm of a100 year old lodge with the modern amenities. Will definitely return to spend more time with family and enjoy this beautiful area.

We love this stay in June lake. We have been coming here for 20 years.Cozy accommodations, kind, accommodating management, beautiful view of the lake and forested mountains. No AC in summer, so their box fans are appreciated!Fun fishing nearby in the lakes along the June lake loop. We usually stick to the local streams, though they were not stocked this year.

We've been going to the Heidelberg every summer since I was a child and I have many wonderful memories of not only this gorgeous region in the Sierras, but of the iconic Heidelberg Inn itself. I love it's grandeur and warmth and "homey" feeling all at once. I've stared at the pictures of Clark Gable and Betty Grable and classic Hollywood stars that hang on the walls and love that they were enjoying the Heidelberg Inn once upon a time just as we always do. My family and I have always enjoyed the rec room and also the very friendly staff who often put on movie nights and special barbecues/snacks. I remember once watching a meteor shower from the jacuzzi on the deck that overlooks the gorgeous mountains and June & Gull Lakes. I've always enjoyed the sauna as well and the comfortable rooms. I love that there is a laundry room and also a utility room where it is easy to clean the daily catch of fish. Everything about this place is well thought out and comfortable and beautiful!

This place was within walking distance of the general store and some small eateries. It was very clean and having a kitchen and full size fridge was very useful! The utensils, dishes, and stainless steel cookware were all in great condition. The staff were friendly!

Do not book through with them using a service such as VRBO. They use multiple third parties to make units available, but those third parties end up over booking the units. Heidelberg Inn doesn't care because they still get booked. I was notified the day before my trip despite booking a month in advance. I called Heidelberg directly and they told me that they frequently get over booked and tell the guests on the day of arrival they have to use the third party to find them a new location. This is definitely an issue with Heidelberg Inn and their communication with their third-party rental companies and Heidelberg not caring to fix their recurring issue.

My wife wants to return for our next annual ski trip. We tried a couple of the motels across the street. Prefer to pay a little more to return here. Lobby has interesting historical photos of the famous guests. It is old and was quiet for us. Reminds me of the hotel in The Shining.

I so enjoyed staying at this quaint place built in the 1920s several years ago for a ski vacation, that I sought out and purchased a timeshare week. And then a few years later, I got a second week. We've enjoyed it in multiple seasons. Gives great access to the mountains and village of June Lake. Short drive to Mammoth or Mono Lake. My son caught his first fish at nearby Gull lake, and the Heidelberg Inn has a fish cleaning room that came in quite useful!
