Love this family-owned Huntington Beach auto repair shop! These guys are the BEST!If you re looking for honest, quality and courteous auto repair, then this is your spot.I refer everyone I know to this place and they always thank me and tell me what a positive experience they had.Staff is so friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and skilled at what they do. I love that they are straightforward with me on any work that needs to be done. No upselling. Just old-school honesty.I always feel good and confident about my vehicle after I ve had anything done here. I highly recommend them.Thanks guys!!

HB Transmission is the ONLY place I will go to for transmission work. They rebuilt my 4R100 in my 2000 Ford F250 7.3L Powerstroke with heavy duty components, Kevlar clutches, HD torque converter at a fair price. I run a Hydra chip on the 65HP tune with it, and I beat the snot out of it. Absolutely zero problems and they rebuilt it 2 years ago. I can honestly say this is the only mechanic shop I ve been to where I didn t notice someone worked on my truck, the install was that seamless. They even reinstalled my trans temperature gauge sender, a lot of shops wouldn t do that in my experience. These guys will take care of you.

I recently had my car repaired at HB Transmissions & Auto Repair, and I couldn't be happier with the service I received. We had a tricky A/C problem in our Expedition, Adrian stuck with it and got it fixed. He also rebuilt the transmission in our sons Mustang and repaired a troublesome Corvette of our sons friend.We always feel like we are being dealt with honestly and reasonably at HB transmission & Auto Repair.When I can't or don't want to fix it myself, they are my go to place.

Major Props and my sincere thanks to HB Tramsmission and Auto Repair. Truth is power! The transmission repairs, especially the labor versus parts expenses, were literally (hiccup, breath catching) daunting, especially for someone who is on a carefully managed fixed income. However, I had previously done my homework and gotten other bids for the potential repairs or transmission replacement. Having done my research, while the expense was significant for me, I felt I was treated fairly.I also very much appreciated that after a breakdown that required a 25-mile tow, Bob at HB Transmission was kind in helping me facilitate that transfer.HB Transmission had the skills to repair my vehicle transmission. That saved me a lot of money, which allowed me to choose to extend the life of my current vehicle at a time when replacement costs are much inflated.

Bob was very friendly when I telephoned to make an appointment. My experience was great when I arrived at the shop. They were welcoming. I trust this business because my dad has been going to them for many years. I also had a great experience and believe that Adrian is trustworthy and honest. We had a transmission issue with my mom s F150 truck, and I had really no idea where to start on where I was taking it to get looked at. I saw HB Transmission on Google, and seemed to be a local business with good reviews. Adrian was very welcoming and got right to investigating the issue with the transmission. He made sure to call me before anything was done to the truck to explain what he d be doing, and the cost. The truck ended up having a full transmission rebuild and was done in less than a week. Everything Adrian quoted on the rebuild was accurate when we picked it up, and paid for the repairs. I would highly recommend this family owned business for any of your car or truck repairs. I really appreciate Adrian and the Team! I have a 2004 Chevy Tahoe that needed a full transmission rebuild, plus other work such as seals and belts. They got me in same day with no appointment needed, called me next day with all of the diagnostics and got to rebuilding and other repairs the same week. I picked the Tahoe up and was all set within 5 days and it felt better than new. I ve gone back since again for other check ups and work done, still no appointment needed and fixed within 24 hours. Super honest Team and explained in great detail all of the repairs and status. Was much cheaper than the other shops nearby by almost 2 thousand dollars for a transmission rebuild. I hate writing reviews, but in this case I thought I d make an exception:- this was the only place that didn t tell me they had a 3-5 week wait list to fix my Transmission- Adrian told me exactly (and up front) what kind of expense I could expect with this type of repair and what my options were- no last minute surprises- they worked with my requested time line without even raising an eyebrow- I ve since driven about 4 hours worth, and my car feels like new!- also, their door alarm kept screaming at me every time I walked in, made me feel like home :) Highly Recommend!Services: Transmission, Transmission replacement, Transmission repair, Oil change

I have been taking all of our family's vehicles to HB Transmissions & Auto Repair for 10+ years no matter how big or small the issue. I have never dealt with more honest people and their work is exceptional. Transmission repair, catalytic converter replacement, brakes, you name it, they've done the work for me and I wouldn't go anywhere else. Adrian has done major work on three cars for us. We have been happy with the result each time. He is professional and treats me with respect even though I have minimal knowledge about cars. Adrian and his team are such great guys. They always get my car in whenever it needs work, they get it done quickly, and they do it at a good price. They explain everything that needs done and don t try to raise the bill with unnecessary work. Guys are polite and were able to get my truck looked at quickly but their prices were double all nearby competitors. Went to J&S Gear Co. up the street and paid nearly the same amount($200) to fix my differential leak as these guys charged($180) me to look at the leak. Oh they also tried to sell a $1600 service that was not needed...

They took my car in when I arrived and did a diagnostics on the transmission and transfer cases and called me back in a three hours. Made recommendations regarding changing fluids and had the car ready for pick up by late afternoon. These guys charged me a $180.00 to diagnose a problem by hooking up my car to a code reader(which I already did with my 50 dollar code reader and told them what the code is) and pressure testing the transmission and telling me that they are not sure what's wrong! that I might need a new transmission but they don't know until they open it up? Please tell the customer upfront what you are going to be doing for 180 bucks that you might not be able to diagnose the problem properly and this might cost an additional x amount of dollar to open up the transmission and check . What a waste of $180 bucks. One star and I need my money back. Thank you.

I have used HB Transmissions for my 2013 Sprinter and 1973 MG Midget. HB Transmissions diagnosed and repaired my Sprinter transmission expertly and quickly.They have performed routine maintenance (brakes, oil change) and the work was done as requested and on time.They replaced the universal joints and balanced the MG Midget driveshaft. The quotes were accurate and there were no surprises. They do what they say they will do expertly!Services: Transmission, Engine repair, Brakes

The posi-differential in my 65 Chevelle was making noises when turning and had a vibration. Technician was very knowledgeable and able to diagnose the issues quickly. I ve been disturbed with engine rattling and vibrations for the past several years. My usual mechanic thought it was the transmission. He said, Go to HB Transmission sion . I did. It was so grateful Adrian told me it wasn t the transmission at all. It was the engine mounts and it was banging metal on metal. Fixed. Now it s so quiet I can t even tell the engine is running. 5 stars.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I accidentally found this HB gem when I needed work done on our 1966 Ford Econoline van. To our surprise, we have met two of the best humans in the business!! I have been burned by other franchise shops. On a recommendation, I drove a hour to this shop. They got me up and running and for less then I'd expected. They also didn't sell me something I thought I might need. I'm so thankful for them and will be going to them from now on and recommending them to everyone, even if they have to drive a ways to get there. I took my GMC Sierra into HB Transmission for a trans rebuild. Before bringing the truck in I went and talked to Adrian twice about the job. I have worked on my own cars for over 30 years and do all my own repairs from basic maintenance to deep into a motor. My cars are never in a shop and I drive them all to 200k miles. However when it comes to the transmission I admittedly have to bow out and take it to someone that specializes in them. I was concerned about 2 things when I first went to visit HB Transmission, 1 that they were competent rebuilders and 2, the removal and re-install of the trans would be done without breaking anything or that something left undone like missing bolts or brackets.The trans was rebuilt in the timeframe I was quoted and the cost of the repair came in where Adrian said it would. The truck is running great now and I expect to get at least another 100k miles out of this trans rebuild. I also crawled underneath the truck after getting it back and everything was perfectly put back together.I d highly recommend HB Transmission for trans work or any car repair for that matter.Service: Transmission
