Staff was polite enough but I'm not sure these guys know what they're doing. When I dropped my truck off they attempted to give me a loaner, however it wouldn't start at first and then it was completely out of gas. I respectfully declined. A few days later they said my truck was ready but shortly after leaving the problem I brought it in for was still there (hard shifts/over speed, 2016 Silverado). After paying 6k and bringing my truck back once, it still has the same problem. I just don't have the time to keep going back and not having a vehicle. I don't recommend this place.

I visited AAMCO Transmissions & Total Car Care located at 7201 Garfield Ave, Huntington Beach, CA, for a complimentary inspection of my car and talked to Eric.I have a dash cam installed in my car and automatically sends videos to my email when the car is turned off. To my shock, I received a video showing an AAMCO employee using my car for personal and AAMCO business errands. He drove my car to a liquor store, then to his home, parking it in an alley. Afterward, he took my car on a lengthy drive through various cities picking up and dropping off car parts for AAMCO. The cities included Westminster, Fountain Valley, Costa Mesa, Irvine, Tustin, Anaheim, and Stanton. The video had timestamps and locations for each place visited, indicating that he covered a lot of miles and used a significant amount of gas during this unauthorized trip.Unfortunately, the employee's actions had negative consequences for my car. The bumper has road rash now and the alignment is off, so now my car pulls to the right. Obviously, he hit a curb or something hard. I now also have a slow leak in my back tire.Additionally, I discovered that the driver had smoked inside my car, which he denied despite having a pack of cigarettes in his hand during our conversation.After confronting the staff at AAMCO, I was informed that my transmission needed replacement which I already knew, but they couldn't work on my particular car model and declined to give me an estimate. Why did they waste my time and not tell me that upfront?Throughout the process, I encountered multiple lies and inconsistencies. They even parked my car and left it running for over 5 hours, which I could verify through my dash cam footage. When my car is turned off, the dashcam shuts down.I was informed that Vijay T. Deshmukh, was away for the next 2-3 weeks after I requested the owner, but I believe I saw him on the premises when I dropped off my car the day before.Given my experience, I strongly advise others to avoid this establishment. It seems they might misuse customers' vehicles without permission for personal and business tasks, and their overall business practices were deeply unsatisfactory.In addition to the numerous issues I encountered at AAMCO Transmissions & Total Car Care, it's essential to note that they never provided me with any paperwork to fill out when I dropped off my car on August 2, 2023, nor when I picked it up late in the afternoon on Thursday, August 3, 2023. The lack of documentation made it even more challenging to address the situation formally or keep track of the services they claimed to have provided.This further adds to my dissatisfaction with their professionalism and raises concerns about their transparency and accountability in handling customer interactions. Overall, it is clear that this AAMCO on Garfield in Huntington Beach failed to meet even the most basic standards of customer service and responsibility.If I could leave negative stars I would. I sent the owner an email with no response. If you leave your car here, it could be used without your authorization and used for employee personal use or as parts pick-up and delivery car. You have been warned.NOTE: It's interesting that you cannot respond to the owner's response to my post below. I had sent an email to the owner with my phone number, and I have not heard back. It's also interesting that he did not dispute anything I wrote. I have posted 3 videos on my Facebook page. One is the employee at the liquor store walking out with his purchase. Another one of employee driving to another parking lot to consume his purchase and a third video putting a Catalytic Converter in my car to be dropped off in Anaheim.

Brought my car in for new brakes. The overall price was significant less than what I d been quoted elsewhere. Since I d expected to pay more, I splurged to add air conditioning service. Now I m in love with my car again.Eric, who set me up with the appointment, was both professional and personable. He was patient and knowledgeable when answering my questions. Thank you for the positive experience, I will return when my car needs any future service.Services: Brakes, Air conditioning

Took the car in for transmission oil change two days later leaking happened, and I was towed back to the shop late Friday evening. I was told I would have an answer next day on Saturday by 12 noon. I received no call when I went to the garage it was closed. I missed work Monday due to no vehicle when I went in a kind man who walked with a cane and tried to assist me in finding out what was going on with my car. He couldn't find out because no one had looked at it all weekend. I am the sole provider for my family, and one day of lost work really puts hardship on my family. No one apologized. In I'm could hear them discussing how my car was in the way of serving other vehicles and it needed to go. Also, I noticed new deep scratches on my car door. As well as muffin crumbs in my seat and center council. I do not recommend this location. I will be writing corporate.

My 2017 Chevy Silverado was having issues with shifting, so I brought it into Aamco Huntington Beach. They diagnosed my car and did an adjustment at no cost, and now my car is running great! I am very happy with the service I received and highly recommend this location.

I have a 2016 Hyundai Sonata that started making noise. I took my car to this location and found an issue with the brakes. They fixed it at a really great price and had great costumer service!

Dropped by without appt for Tran-service, no wait due to CovidVirus. In business for decades with yearly Customer Sat plaques displayed in lobby. Old setup and not pleasant inside. Old Mismatched furniture, broken fan, cobwebs, dirty filth, and not sanitary for Covid conditions. Tran service was good. I had to sanitize car afterwards at home. AAMCO should have upped game.

Ruben was very honest about everything. The whole team was able to get my car running again, since my transmission had stopped working. I was able to have my car back within 3 days. After two weeks my car is still running perfectly well, with no issues at all. I would definitely recommend this place.Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

Ruben and the team here was GREAT! We broke down at the side of the road and found them on google. EVERY step of the way we were told what exactly was happening with our car and how much it cost.When we were unsure we could afford the repairs- transmission am I right?!- he recommend some credit sources. Honestly, it made the difference for such a LARGE repair.Truly great. Also, we have a warranty on the work done which is fantastic.Not to mention the fact the owner of the pizza & pub by our hotel told us the team here is great. Honest, fair, etc. So, its good to know they have a good reputation. As they said this right after we dropped off our car there.Services: Transmission, General repairs & maintenance

I brought a 1992 4runner into this shop for a reseal due to it leaking after every use. I got a price over the phone that seemed to be in the ballpark of the other quotes I had received, and they were much closer to home than some of the other shops. Since Ive heard their name on the radio for years now, I figured they should be able to complete the job without issue. I drove over and met with Ruben, and we quickly went over the plan to fix the leaks. He said give them a couple days, and that unfortunately the price was going to be a little higher because the transmission and transfer case are all one part, making it heavier and harder to remove, which I was aware of. We agreed and I signed the paperwork. He did ask me to pay up front, which I though was a little weird, but figured it was all the same at the end. A couple days later he called and said there was a little issue and I needed to come down and see it for myself, so I drove down and met with Ruben to go over the issues. Now Ill keep the details of what went wrong, and the deal that was made to myself, but ill just say that Ruben was able to make me a deal that had me feeling like I could trust him 100%, so I took it. 3 days later the car was ready to go, no leaks, and I was happy with the experience. I honestly feel like Ruben had my interests at heart, and he took a giant leap to show me that was true. Ill for sure be back with any other cars, and I cannot recommend them enough.TLDR: Great shop, had a couple small issues, but Ruben handled it perfectly, and I left happy as can be.Services: Transmission, Steering & suspension repair

Our wheelchair van had the transmission go out recently and we needed it repaired quickly and for a reasonable price. After shopping around and feeling frustrated, we met Ruben at Aamco in Huntington Beach. He took his time to explain all of the options and prices available to us. He and the other employees were very nice and did a great job for us. We really appreciated them going above and beyond for our family as we cannot be without our van for very long as it is for our daughter that's in a wheelchair. I would strongly recommend doing business with them. We will definitely be using them for all of our transmission needs for our other vehicles as well!

I normally come to AAMCO for oil changes but my this time my car was in desperate need for new brakes, front and back. Ruben understood my financial situation and said he and his team could work on my front brakes first and when I could afford it, come back and get the back ones done. He even told me he could work it out financially so I would pay less than what I paid for the front. I came back a month later and Ruben stuck to his word. He remembered me and my husband and was just happy he could provide the service. If you can make a Saturday appointment first thing, your service won t take long. Due to COVID, we can t wait in their waiting area, but fortunately there s a shopping center within walking distance or one of the guys at the shop can give you a lift. Ruben and his team are great. Vijay and Jay are also super knowledgeable and friendly. I ve never once felt intimidated coming here, and will continue coming back to AAMCO and recommending this shop to others.Service: Brakes

Boought a axle here. 2 days later the car was shaking. I was able to get it to a mechanic before the axle fell and destroyed the car and me. Called this AAMCO the next day. They refused to honor their warranty. Be careful before you waste your money here

Having your car break down is never good. However, Ruben and his team were really great. Explained everything and kept me informed while they had my car. They made me feel like I was their #1 customer . I appreciate you all. Thanks again for the wonderful and extremely professional job!! I took my car (2008 hummer) in because I ve been having transmission issues and malfunctions. They diagnosed my car and provided excellent and quality service at a great price! I came in with a 1950 Ford Crown Victoria because I was having problems with my transmission. They fixed it right up for a reasonable price and I haven't had any problems with my transmission since then. My 2001 Honda Accord V6 transmission died and needed a complete rebuild because most of the parts were burnt. The car was brought in on Wednesday and repairs were completed the following Tuesday. The car drives like the day I bought it new from the dealer. I was quoted a range of $2295 to $2799 for the complete rebuild before the transmission was disassembled. After the disassembly, the cost to repair was more than the high end of the range ($3400), but Ruben kept his promise and repaired it for what he quoted ($2799). After the rebuild, the idle RPM is lower than normal and has nothing to do with the transmission but Ruben and his team have offered to adjust it higher to make sure I am a satisfied customer. Overall smooth and pleasant experience to relieve the stress of a crippled car. I would recommend this AAMCO because your satisfaction is number one.Service: Transmission

I went to Aamco Huntington beach, from a friend recommendation.They checked my vehicle first at no cost like they said, after that Ruben the manager called me for an estimate, which was reasonable (fair) and better than the dealers quote. My Nissan versa was ready in 4 days like they said. I will definitely recommend this place. Good customer service.Thanks Ruben.

I am a recent transplant from the Midwest that happened because of a job offer. I went here and the service was great! It was very affordable, and trust me, that was the first thing on my mind because of the enormous cost of moving my entire life out to California.I felt like they did an outstanding job looking over my car to make sure all was well. He checked my blinker problem for no charge and let me know that my brake pads would need to be replaced soon, but did not pressure me at all to do change them then. I will be going there from this point forward and have nothing but good things to say about the service.

Took my car in and was given a $785.00 price for a valve body to fix my transmission. I was called and told sorry the valve body didn t work . So now it will cost over $3000.00 . We had no choice to pay it. I pick up my car and didn t make it home . The transmission wasn t shifting and the same code came up. I took it back . The new valve body was damaged due to the fact they didn t replace the right part. They pull the transmission again and re- built it again . I Took it home and drove it it smelled like it was burning up when I brought back to them because of the smell they said it s not the transmission. We took the car to my mechanic to find the smell he put it on the rack and you could see the transmission fluid leaking onto my exhaust from the transmission seal between the engine block and seal . I have to take it back to be fixed again this will be the 5th time . It seems like they just say it s under warranty so ever time I bring the car it it cost me at least 2days . I will not recommend this place at all. Hoping for a fix this timeService: Transmission

I have a 2010 Ford F150. I took it in because I was having a problem with my engine. They fixed my truck with a coil. The service was incredible, honest, and efficient. The pricing was very reasonable. I highly recommend them!!

I was referred to AAMCO Transmission by a couple of co-workers. They get all major car repairs done here and have always been satisfied from what I hear talking around the proverbial office water cooler. I went here the first time to get an oil change which was done quickly and was affordable, but I still wasn t sure about big repair jobs.The second time I came here was for a major repair. After a different mechanic failed to diagnose the problem, I brought my car to AAMCO. Triple A towed my car here on a Saturday morning and AAMCO was able to get a new starter and battery put in my car within a few hours. I didn't have an appointment or anything - just showed up. It has been several weeks and I've had no problems. My co-workers assured me I'd be treated right by these guys and I'd have to agree. Nobody likes car troubles, but you re better off taking advice from word of mouth then ending up in a rut with someone else.

I was in California on vacation and had a terrible grinding noise coming from the rear of my vehicle. Steve was fantastic: he quickly determined the problem in the over-sized tires my own dealership had sold me and had the new tires on my car within a few hours so I could get on the road. He even went so far as to call the dealership at fault and arrange for my compensation for the bad tires. I cannot say enough about the efficiency and level of customer service I received here, and all for a reasonable price (something I was really concerned about, being in the precarious circumstance that I was).

Phillip was the guy who helped me, he was very professional and went above and beyond my expectations. He was able to give me a good deal. I knew my transmission for my 1999 ford f150 needed work done on it, it had been giving me problems for over a week and sure enough they said it needed to be rebuilt. Phillip did me than just diagnose my transmission, he gave me a complete run down on the usual wear and tear on a vehicle and what needed to be taken care of now and what can wait. My differential had never been serviced so they did that for me. He took pictures of certain parts that had a lot of wear in the transmission and texted them to me. Phillip did a great job of keeping me up to date on what they were doing. He made me feel like their most important customer. A few days later and I got my truck back. The transmission shifted smooth as butter. I won't hesitate to recommend aamco to my friends and family.

Initially I took my car in to another shop and they said I needed a new transmission. Wanting a second opinion before investing a ton of money, I decided to take it into AAMCO and that was the decision that saved me hundreds!! They said I didn't need a new transmission and the guys should have known that buy using a diagnostic check. Their honest and up front service has made me a loyal customer and I can't thank them enough!

My son finished his fall semester at Golden West College, and we had plans to move him back home to Portland, OR. His clutch went out 3 days before our planned 1000 mile drive. I reached out in desperation to several HB shops, only AAMCO was able to get it done. Called them on Friday, started working Saturday. Done Monday afternoon as promised. I flew in Monday night, we drove back together Tuesday. Thank you Russ and Team for helping us in a crunch, and getting us home for Christmas

Went in for a free diagnosis on a check engine light was told they would need it for a couple hours. Called me an hour and a half later told me they were going to have to keep it for another 2 hours and charge me $180. I asked the gentleman that help me if he could tell me any further information he told me no. I asked him if this was a ploy to get people in here so they could charge them and not tell them what's wrong and he put his head down and said yeah and he didn't want to tell me anything else. Wasn't very nice very rude wasn't honest would not recommend aamco to anybody at this franchise not a good place of business. If they do that to me they're doing it to all their customers and I don't think the place would be very honest and probably way overpriced. Also I had to mention several times to write down my mileage on the form that I had to fill out in the very beginning he reluctantly wrote down my mileage. Not sure what that was all about but I learned nothing and it was a waste of my time. I wouldn't even give it a one-star! But it doesn't have a zero!

I went here to get my transmission fluid change d. I was quoted $160.00 but the man at the desk wanted to charge me $260.00 admittedly he reduced the price once I mentioned the owners quote. The worst part of the service came when the car was done for some reason this loser mechanic thought it was okay to take my car while I was not there and drive to get his breakfast calling the use of my car as a test drive. This was the most unprofessional way to treat customers and I should have called the owner at once. I don't reccomend this place to anyone unless the owner fires this mechanic.RC
