My go to diesel mechanics. Chevy pickup and x5. Both over ten years old. Maintenance and occasional problems. Lastly a sensor relating to filtration in x5. Back to its efficient, zippy self. Competent, professional and kind services are very appreciated, keeping my vehicles and me going down the road.

For all smaller issues I ve had and for all diagnostics I ve had, the Nelsons have taken care of me smoothly and properly.I was respectful to the heat they deal with as well as the amount of work they usually have.Overall a great team and a great experience for my smaller situations.

Honestly this has to be the best automotive shop in the Valley. They are always busy, so there's a bit of a waiting period. But the mechanics there are very knowledgeable and seem to know what they are talking about. Plus I really like how they are straight forward with what needs to be done to get my car back on the road. I don't get that feeling like I'm getting ripped off either.. I already recommend them to my friends and anyone who asks.

I stopped in because i was overheating. Mechanic said fan clutch had failed, ordered a new one and installed it in less than an hour. Pretty fast I thought. He charged me $163 and gave me a box with old fan clutch, or so he said. I drove away and miles away it overheated again. Only then did I look in the box and it looked brand new, not even dirty let alone oil or any stains Took it to another mechanic who took out the one in the van, which was very oily and used, and installed the boxed one. That fixed the problem. I called Robert Nelson who said he would look into it. He since has not answered any of my calls and its been 3 weeks. I now have to file a complaint with the state.edit: Nelson finally called me many weeks later, said the mechanic cleaned up the old one??. Dont know why he bothered to tell me that tale as noone would believe it. He didnt take responsibility but fid offer to refund me. That took about a month. It cost me much more than that as I put in new water pump, radiator, thermostat, cap unnecessarily as the problem couldve been quickly fixed if the newly bought clutch was installed at the time. He made no mention of reprimanding the mechanic so who can trust the work when the owners not there?

Can't say enough good things about Robert and this place. Wish I could rate him 10 stars. We were stuck out in the desert in our mobile home, in dire need of help and running out of water as it gets hotter and hotter. 2 mobile mechanics flaked on us. Eventually we make the scary decision to get towed to a mechanic we don't know in a town we don't know; with our home being our vehicle it was even more daunting. We had tried calling John Wood who referred us to Rob just in the nick of time. He pushed us to the front of the line, diagnosed our problem and fixed it, along with fixing our front air conditioner which hasn't worked since we got the bus. All for a more than fair price.Couldn't thank you enough, Robert. very grateful

This place was a lifesaver. Everyone was so helpful. Our car kept overheating while on a long road trip. We were worried for our dogs safety (as well as our own), when we happened upon this establishment. It was a miracle. We are so thankful to everyone who stayed late making sure we were safe to be back on the road. Would recommend to anyone!

I can't say enough good things about Robert and the service he provided.I own an RV rental company in Katy,TX. We had a customer in one of our 35' rental motor homes break down in the dessert, about 50 miles west of El Centro, Ca. After many call to find a shop to take it to, we were referred to Robert Nelson Automotive. We had just found a tow company to tow the RV to his shop. He was closing for the day but said he would move some things around so the RV could be plugged into electric for the night to keep the couple and 4 children comfortable.He got on it first thing this morning and had the RV back on the road in less than 2 hours.I wish there were a 10 star rating, because that is what he deserves.Neil-Owner of RV World Of Texas

I was on the verge of being stranded in Holtsville for the night. Autozone recommend Robert, I pulled up at 7:30pm. He was still at the shop even though I noticed they close at 4pm. Robert was nice enough to check out my issue, after a short electronic diagnostic he found a faulty plug wire. Had me back on the road in 20 minutes. Called me at 8:30 just to make sure my SUV was running well. In ten minutes you'll know all you need to know..."he cares about his customers". A true auto professional.

I was on my way to Arizona when I needed to stop here along the way. Rob helped us out right away and fixed the problem within 30 mins of us being there and didn't charge us for his service. I wish he was in San Diego so I could take my car to him!
