Owner was very unprofessional when entering to get my oil change. Very rude and aggressive, seemed to not care about customers business. Tried to up charge me as well by saying my car took more oil than listed online. Be cautious when doing business here!

I went in for an oil change today, drove home and noticed a stream of fluid coming out from under my hood when I got home and parked the car in the driveway. I immediately drove back to have Speedee take a look and repair whatever was wrong but the owner immediately said it was an existing problem -- he didn't offer to take a look to see if possibly a hose was disconnected during the oil change, didn't offer any sort of resolution; just a straight up "not our problem" attitude. As he stood there, unable to offer a solution, I appreciate an employee (Henry, I believe) got under the car to try and take a look at what happened. After a while of not getting anywhere with the owner, he again suggests it was an existing problem and I should check back with the manufacturer. At that point, it was obvious they weren't going to fix their mistake. My car is new, it doesn't have mechanical issues or any other issues underneath the hood. I know that when I drove in for the oil change there was no leak, let alone a steady stream coming out from under my car. What I DO know is that after my oil change there was a substantial amount of fluid coming out from under my car so I can only conclude that there was some sort of mishandling of the car parts during the oil change. I was a regular customer of Speedee in Hollister up until today but their inability to perform their job carefully and the owner's inability to own up to their mistakes, in addition to his blatant dishonesty and their failure to repair the damage done to my car is incredibly disappointing and is something I don't care to deal with moving forward.Service: Oil change

I m a mobile dog groomer and my grooming van is was in an accident and I have been through a lot of stress with it Mechanic after Mechanic getting the runaround I was very hesitant to go to speedy lube in Hollister because I have had bad past experiences a few years back but I found my van overheating on Saturday afternoon and pulled in Eric and his team were quick to help me I was a nervous wreck and Eric was awesome I just about passed out when he said I would have to leave it overnight. He said he would try to get it done by Monday. I was fully booked Sunday and Monday and he really helped me not panic help me with my two boys that were running around the shop and listen to what I was saying with no other Mechanic when I came back Monday, expecting the van to be still sitting in the same spot but it was done They are a great team you can tell that Erik knows what he s doing and knows how to run a really good business. He has changed my opinion on mechanics in general, but definitely impressed me. The price was actually less than what he quoted me. I couldn t believe it and went above and beyond multiple times I am so glad I found a gem here in hollister. I m forever grateful

Horrible customer service. Car hadn t been pulled in and I wanted to confirm the type of oil I was getting, if it was full synthetic or blend. The person I spoke to, I believe he was the owner or manager, explained the options and I confirmed the type I wanted. When I went to check out they charged me for a different oil type. The same guy I talked to was extremely flippant and told me he never went and confirmed with the people who completed the oil change. He was not apologetic for the mix up. Horrible customer service. Won t be going back.Service: Oil change

Good honest mechanics. Went in for an oil change and tire rotation and the tech found the previous person who worked on my truck did something wrong. They stopped and called before any damages occurred

Horrible. I took my truck there and in the beginning they said will cost around 95.00 plus the extra quarts if necessary. I end up paying 224.00 for a oil change. I was ripped off . They charged an extra 54.00 for service and never mentioned service wasn t included. I never had been in a place that charges service for Oil ChangeI paid and left, but will never recommend this place. Be Careful.Service: Oil change

Update 1/24/23 DON T GO HERE!!!! back to 1 star and want to go negative stars. The Car started to leak oil after about a month of the lies I was told. I figured the threads on the pan would be damaged and I would repair it when time for the oil to be changed. That day has arrived and I m convinced no mechanics work here. The old drain plug had Teflon tape wrapped around it in an attempt to seal the leak, and the crush washer/gasket is hard and dry. So I was lied to that a new drain plug was installed and they also neglected to change the washer/gasket as should be done with every oil change, and it costs less then 25 cents. I m certain this will fix my issue as the oil pan and drain plug will hold torque and I have never had oil leaking in the past 10 oil changes I performed when replacing the washer/gasket. Save your money and don t take your car here or the Big O next door as they have the same management.Update* The Manager Eric called me a day after this review and asked me to bring the car in Monday so he could look at. He had found no issues with the car itself and only a worn drain plug. The oil plug was replaced and the car is back to being leak free. I am happy with the service and prompt action taken by Eric to correct the situation. They didn t put my drain plug in correctly and covered it in silicone to prevent it from leaking and that didn t work. Still leaking oil all over my driveway. I will never take another vehicle to this location.Service: Oil change

There's a reason this business has 3 stars with over 100 reviews on Google: mediocrity. My story -- I went in for an oil change, asked if there were promos, and the intake kid said no, despite a quick Google search showing otherwise. I also asked for the coolant to be topped off with the coolant bottle I had in the car, was told it would be done for free, but when I went to pay, no one knew if it had been done or not and then one of the employees asked and found out it hadn't been done. I was charged full price for the oil change despite there being a number of available promos even after asking for promos, and I saw the receipt showing services performed that weren't actually done. The business thrives off of quick service, but customer service is seriously lacking.Service: Oil change

Took my truck to get an oil change and brake inspection before a road trip recently. I was told that there was a broken spring in the rear drum brakes and that it was terribly unsafe to be on the road. They didn t have the parts on hand so I ended up purchasing the parts from the auto parts store next door, and replaced the brakes myself as I was short on time. I found zero broken parts so I was out $250 based on false information from someone who should have been trustworthy definitely won t be going back EVER!Service: Brakes

Got the 17 point oil service change today not a bad service. Spoke with George who seems to be quite knowledgeable. The receptionists were friendly and welcoming. The conventional was about 50 bucks and the blend is 70 bucks which is not a bad price for a quick inspection and fluid top offs combined with the front and rear window cleaning and front and rear floorboard vacuuming definitely helps to keep your vehicle clean too. All in all good service thank you.

Not bringing my car here EVER again !I dropped off my car because the engine light was on. They called me after they kept my car for a day telling me that theres a small leak on the ecap and it will cost me $1600 . Good thing I asked my friend to look at it , and he told me that the part I needed to replace it only cost $55 at Autozone . I should have listened to the REVIEWS posted about this place. Speedee really over charge people. I am not taking my car here ever AGAIN .

Said they topped off washer fluid... It's empty.Said they washed windows... They didn't.Said brake fluid was full... It's half full.Said they checked tire pressure.. They didn't because I watched them NOT do it...10 minutes for 75.00 which would be fine if they adhered to their 17 point service guarantee

Went in for a 12,000/m oil change and air filter replacement was pretty expensive. On my way to work i nearly collide with a big rig because my engine lost power, come to find out that the Air intake hose was disconnected. I called my Mechanic (who had to come out in the middle of the night) and had to charge me $100 just to reconnect it. When I went to tell them they denied touching the intake to change the filter. They are the only ones who worked on it recently! They were unprofessional about the whole thing and just lost this location 3 frequent clients as my mother and step-father both used this location as well!

Do not go here if you don't want your car messed up. They put way too much transmission fluid in my vehicle and my transmission blew. We got stranded on a mountain with no service and my car is now stuck in Chico. The owner has not even tried to contact me after I told them what the workers did. We are now without a vehicle and in debt because we had to get a rental car and hotel room. Absolutely horrible place for anyone to take their car. I'm extremely disappointed and absolutely disgusted.Services: Transmission, Oil change

The mechanics at this place are horrible and the owner, Raj, makes every excuse in the book not to correct their mistakes. I won't bore you all with the details but just like many other reviewers here I paid a lot of money for repairs, they ended up not reconnecting some wires and my engine cover was missing the bolts holding it on. I took a day off from work thinking he'd at least look into the issue and bolt my cover back on, he had no desire to do either but said he would order the missing bolts, he never called back. I wish it was easier to find good mechanics, my search continues. I will never bring my business back here again.Services: Exhaust, Engine repair

From the front office staff to the man who serviced my car all were friendly & knowledgeable. Everything was explained from cost to time. Suggestions for future repairs (oil leak & gasket replacement) and maintenance were given along with it's cost and time needed. I will absolutely continue to use their services.

***Update - The day after getting my oil changed and tires rotated I started hearing a noise. I thought that maybe I had low air in a tire but the car wasn't pulling to the side so I thought I could drive it back home. Suddenly the noise got drastically louder. I pulled over and checked the pressure in all four tires but they were fine. Then I looked under the car :(The undercarriage shield was dragging on the ground. They hadn't screwed it in all the way! I went back and they fixed it free of charge but I won't be going again. I don't want people working on my car that won't be paying attention to detail or caring about the quality of work they put out.***Went in for an oil change. They vacuumed the front of my car which was nice. It was WAY more expensive than I thought it would be but I don't know anything about cars. They said I needed filters and a tire rotation. Considering that I was about 5,000 miles past when I needed an oil change I assumed they were telling the truth. I felt like the customer service was good from the guy who helped me but it definitely wasn't 5 star service. All in all I'll be going back there for my next oil change.

The manager Raj here is a scammer! I m warning you not to come here.I dropped my car off for an oil change and an Indian lady calls me back 20 mins later saying that my oil pan was leaking and that it was going to cost me $600! I park my car in my drive way and there are no oil stains!! (I also just had my routine maintenance check up at a different place just a couple months prior).I then showed a coupon that WAS ON THE ACTUAL WEBSITE for an oil change and Raj says that I needed to have made an appointment for it to work, which just a few hours before I came in I had spoke to him right when they opened and asked if I needed to make an appointment or if I can just walk in and he advised me to just walk in . I then showed the coupon to the Indian mechanic and he says that it doesn t work at that location .The family that runs this location are definitely out to get every penny they can out of there customers. Very disappointing.. I m warning you all though to go to a different shop.

I brought my car in to have the check engine light looked at. Got there right when they opened at 8:00am on a Tuesday. After signing the initial paperwork and handing over my keys, the rep asked me if I would wait there or leave, to which I told him I would be waiting. Six hours later, while my wife and I were sitting in there waiting area the entire time save for running over to McDonald's to eat something, I receive a call from the technician saying that they need to order parts and that the work would be done Thursday morning. The entire time I was watching mechanics working on other people's cars, including some that arrived hours after I did. Considering that I got there right when they opened and was obviously waiting for an excessive period of time, I would have thought that someone would at least check in and see why I had been there so long. Had anyone given me some indication of how long it would take or how busy they we're I would have left immediately.Thursday rolls around and at about 2:30pm I give them a call to check what is going on since I was told it would be finished that morning. The guy who answered the phone tells me "they are putting everything back together right now" and that they will call me when they finish. Then at 4:30pm, half an hour before they close, I get a call saying that they accidentally ordered the wrong parts and that it would take until Friday now. Not only did they completely ignore me while I was sitting in their lobby for the majority of a day, but I was blatantly lied to when I called for an update, and they managed to screw up ordering parts! Even if this were in any way acceptable, I was only in town for a few days before I would fly back to NYC, and I was trying to handle the maintenance on my car so that my family wouldn't need to. Ultimately they called on Friday at 11:30am, while I was already on my way to the airport, to tell me that my car was ready.Dealing with auto repairs is never enjoyable but this has to be one of the worse and least professional experiences I have ever had.

Recently my partner took our truck in to have the brakes checked, was quoted over $1000 and a whole days work to fix the issue. It's an older truck but well cared for so this seemed strange. He also noted the change in attitude once he presented a coupon for the inspection.Took it elsewhere and paid under $200 and waited less than 3 hours to get it fixed. SpeeDee came up with a list of issues, said it was "falling apart" and unfit to drive which even the other mechanic agreed, was simply not true.Certainly won't be doing business here ever again. And if you're looking to avoid wasting your money on lies, I would suggest that you don't either.

Oil change on my Mini Cooper resulted in having to replace my oil pan, 2 sensors and a Check Engine light that they couldn t clear. The only thing good out of this is that the owner did take care of it all. Had the guy working on my car walking away talking smack in Spanish.... I speak Spanish, not cool at all

I'd give them 0 stars but Google wouldn't let me. I took my car here to have a smog check. It clearly pass the smog test (emissions part), however, the technicians failed it for visual inspection. According to their findings, I have vacuum hoses that are crack and needs replacement. When they showed me where they're at, the technician literally bent The Living Daylights out of the hose until it really has a noticeable crack. I was told this will cause vacuum leaks. News flash! If there's a vacuum leak in my vehicle, it would never have passed the emissions test in the first place. That same afternoon I took the same vehicle to a different smog testing facility. Long and behold, it passed everything that it needs to get my vehicle registered.A few days later I ended up replacing the damaged hose to prevent any future incidents.

My mother went there to get just to get an oil change, nothing was wrong with her car it was in good condition. They gave it back to her, water was leaking like crazy and told her that it was leaking and they need to fix it and that it ll cost about 300 dollars. It was weird how insistent they were about it and when my mom said she had warranty they stopped and left her with a leaking car. Luckily and old guy working there told her to leave since they ll come back to persist her for money, gave her the info of the peice that needed to be replaced to fix the leakage, and worryingly told her to leave. We heard stories of this establishment sabotaging cars to get more money but didn t realize it was actually true. This shouldn t happen to anyone and I m extremely upset. DONT GO HERE!

STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE.I took my car to them to have it smogged. They caused the fuel pump to fail. I was forced to have them replace the fuel pump. I was told I would be given a discount for a total of about $240 dollars, including at-cost price for the new fuel pump. Instead it cost me $475 and they more than doubled their cost of the $72 fuel pump they purchased at the Kragen's next door. While they were at it, they broke the side mirror and evap system, did not repair them and hid the damage from me. I had them change my coolant prior to this and they put the wrong coolant in and refused to correct it. The mechanic has the worst attitude ever and thinks he is never wrong. He told me he never checks specs for any vehicle he works on and doesn't care what the factory says about service. During an oil change they broke a very expensive, top-of-the-line air filter I had installed and incorrectly diagnosed an oil leak, making it worse in the process. Their their training is abysmal and incompetent. I stopped letting them install air filters because their filters are too small and dirt and debris was getting around their filters and into the engine. They don't deserve the rating they're getting. Stay away if you care about your car.
