We've taken all three of our vehicles to Mel at Briganti's for a while now. All the work has been done right the first time at a fair price. Had to get my check engine light serviced and my brakes done. The owner said all my brakes were bad and everything (rotors, pads and calipers) needed to be replaced. I decided for him to just do the check engine service because I was skeptic about my brakes especially because I had the front ones done last year. I took the car to les Schwab for my brake inspection and they stated my back brakes all needed to be replaced but that my front ones were all practically BRAND NEW!I give one star for fixing my check engine light but I dont recommend using this place due to the fact that he (Mel) lied to me about my brakes. Btw he was charging me $1600 for full brake service and repair. Les Schwab was $650 for my back brakes (rotors, pads and calipers).Saved $950!

Went in to get my car repaired but unfortunately the employees were all rude. I also witnessed them telling Spanish speaking couple to learn English because they are here in America. Racist for what? I don t recommend this pace, and I don t support racism.

Briganti s was available, professional and competitively priced. I brought in my Heavy Duty E-350 duelly van. Mel called me and filled me in the the problem(s). It was available for pick-up the following morning.I m bringing another truck of mine in soon. I ve found a new mechanic! Thank you Briganti s!Service: Auto maintenance

I didn't use Briganti's services because the repair would cost more than my car was worth, but the explanation and communication from Mel, as well as the kindness he provided my kids and i when my car broke down while on trip to SF was beyond expected. Thanks Mel, very much appreciated!

Trustworthy, Competent and AffordableI just moved to the area and found Briganti's Automotive Services when I was looking for someone to take care of both my vehicles. He seemed to have good ratings so I went over to interview him and he was extremely knowledgeable, very friendly, helpful and accommodating to my needs. I had the first car serviced there and he did a very careful test drive in which he found a problem that the dealership had failed to catch. He made the repairs it was very professionally and expertly done. The price was reasonable and like I said he was very accommodating. He even gave me a ride home when it was time to take one car back. I couldn't ask for more. I had my truck taken in as a follow-up and I had the same positive experience. As far as I'm concerned I will be using him exclusively to repair my cars.

Called in to get a quote on a 1985 Ford F-150 pickup we recently purchased that probably needs about 5k worth of work. I was giving all of the details to a brigantis represented until he rudely cut me off saying Just get to the point . Very unprofessional. Would not recommend.

After calling around for smog prices I decided to go with Briganti, for the simple fact that he gave me the nicest customer service on the phone, answering simple questions. He didn't rush me off the phone like others did giving the quote quickly. Then, when I got there the service was even ten times better than my phone call! As my car got smogged we had a great little chat and the price was very reasonable, cheaper than most. Very very happy with my experience at Briganti and will definitely be back!!

Price was way to high in my opinion for an oil change and fuel system cleaning, 491.37 was the total. Afterwards they gave my car a green light. When I went to pick it up, the car wouldn't start. They said they would take a look. Turns out battery is faulty. They told me it would be around 800 bucks to replace them, again in my opinion that is insanely high! However, when it was exposed as a battery issue, they said after a day of it being idle (24ish hours) to get it towed or they would charge me 120 bucks a day for storage. So I had it towed to the dealership because I wouldn't give these guys another cent. Personally I am going to avoid this place like the plague.

Mel and his staff were very professional, kind, efficient. Transparent and honest with the costs and eta of job with my car. Solved the problem fairly quickly but made sure the job was done correctly and not rushed. 10/10 would recommend. I went in there to get a quote on rear brake pads and rotors. He questioned me every step of the way - "What makes you think you need new brakes and rotors?" "What do you use the vehicle for?"... gimme a break. It took him almost half an hour to give me a quote and I was the only customer there (and the lift was empty). All I wanted was a price, I don't care to know brakes used to be made of asbestos. I felt very talked down to - - I do most of the routine maintenance on my vehicle. If I say I pulled the tire off and looked at the brakes, give me a price and let me go. Don't waste my time and yours with a whole song, dance, and test drive.I'd never take my vehicle here. Too condescending, and if it takes half an hour for a simple brake quote, work must take forever.(By the way, I was quoted $544 for rear brakes and rotors on a 2017 Ford Transit 250.)

I brought my 2002 Subaru in to get looked at. It ended up needing over $5,000 worth of work. Unfortunately it wasn't in the budget. Mel was extremely helpful, he brought us in, he told us exactly how it was, and what needed to be done. He gave us good advice, he was willing to work on the car if thats what we wanted, and was honest with what either decision might bring. He was not biased at all, his motives seemed to me that he was genuinely concerned about our best interest. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll confidently bring any work needed to Mel. Thanks again, Mel!

I have recently had a most satisfying experience dealing with Mel at Briganti s Automotive repair facility, and I m happy to tell one and all about it. The repairs that I needed were extensive, and involved the removal and complete replacement of the front axle on my 3/4 ton diesel 4X4 pickup. When the unit was removed and disassembled, the shop floor was covered with the remains of what used to be a functioning axle, but I d destroyed so many parts that a complete rebuild was necessary. Since new axles aren t available for a 20 year old truck, a used one had to be located, and built from the ground up. Mel did this in a timely manner, kept me informed as he progressed, and when the repairs were completed, he was happy to describe the entire process in full. My old parts were available for my inspection; even offered should I want to take them home with me. He was kind enough to dispose of them for me instead. During this entire process, I learned to trust Mel and his company which can be difficult to do given the number of times I ve been cheated by former vehicle mechanics. In the end, I ve learned that Mel is trustworthy and he s even become a good friend. Not only would I drive hundreds of miles to have him work on my vehicles, I d do so knowing I d be treated fairly and with dignity. I highly recommend Mel and his repair facility to everyone, and am confident that anyone who does business with him will feel the same when he completes any repair he s authorized to do.

On a trip to Pinnacles National Park in late October, my power steering went out just as I got my camping trailer backed into our campsite.There was no cell service, but they had wi-fi at the camp store, so I was able to get an email out to Briganti's, Mel replied to me (on Sunday) and told me to have the truck towed to his shop. I was able to get the truck there after hours so they could get to work on it the next morning. Mel suggested I make a couple of extra repairs to make things better and I took his advice. I was out the door and back on the road before closing the same day.Thanks Mel. Will keep you in mind for any regular service when passing through again..Service: Steering & suspension repair

I called around for the price of an oil and air filter change and felt fully I gpt the best phone customer service from the owner, Mel. The oil change price was fair, but after calling around I found that my air filter was $20 more. I would have gone here if that charge to put in my air filter wasn't so steep.

Was in Hollister and had come across issues with my car. Went in and was diagnosed with needing the line drive fixed, despite being told it was a u bolt from our regular mechanic from out of state. I told him I had $300. Left it there for two days, On the third day was told my option was to get a new one. I told him it was out of my price range. So I came back to pick it up and he charged me 370. Just found the old service receipt and even the way things are written up are on there misleading. I m sure he treats friends and family great. But he was disrespectful to me, my sister, my partner and my mechanic from another state. What a dishonorable company.

Went to an oil change place and they left my car leaking oil. After being told we needed a new oil pan at a cost of $500+ we went to Brigantis. They informed me that the leak was due to a stripped screw and fixed it for 1/3 of the originally quoted price. These guys are great and would recommend them highly.

Mel is way over priced and will rip you off any chance he gets. I brought my Mercedes CLS63 AMG in to replace the coolant overflow box. He took 5 days to remove and replace 4 screws and a small hose. He said, I m replacing the Cap as well because I want to do it right. When I arrived he charged me $660 for a $47 coolant box and a cap. Not long after leaving his shop, the coolant started to overflow out of the cap. When I returned the vehicle to him he tried again to charge me money to fix what he had already replaced. I asked him not to do the work on the car and when I car to pick it up he told me that he ran the car to overheat 3 times with an excuse about the fuse and that my head gasket was blown. I started to record a video of him as he explained it. In the video it is clear that he disconnected the fan and ran the car to failure to damage the vehicle in an attempt to get more money out of me. When I returned home and told my Fianc� and her sister what he had done, my sister in law told me that he also blew their motor and tried to get them to pay him to fix it. Mel is not an honest or kind person and I would avoid them at all costs unless you like to get ripped off and have your car purposely damaged.

We were leaving for Texas in a week and my wifes mini van was leaking fluid from several places and we needed it repaired fast. Briganti did a great job and we made it half way across the country and still no leaks. Mel was friendly, professional and honest.

I was at a point where it was inconvenient to do my own oil change, so I had it done here.The owner was nice and it didn't take that long to do, however whoever did the oil change did not clear my oil light. And they said that I only had 3000 miles until my next oil change. They didn't even ask what kind of driving I am doing. I can understand 3000 if it was only in town driving but I was never asked.I also can aay that it could be an honest mistake not clearing the oil light, but the quote saying I need to change my oil was a bit deliberate.All in all, they could be a good shop, but my experience was not that great.

We have been going to Briganti s shop for quite some time now. He s honest and follows through on his word. Goes the extra step to make sure your satisfied. Great guy and shop!!! Highly recommend using him!!!

Mel fit me in with his busy schedule when I wanted a complete oil change. He even replaced some bulbs that I didn't know were out. Far and beyond just good service. I recommend his shop for all car care.

Very thorough! I was driving this weekend during a rainstorm, the next morning my engine light came on. I was baffled by the code my scanner gave me. There was just too many possibilities of things that could have been wrong, so I went to Briganti's , They got to the bottom of my problem and fixed it correctly, I highly recommend Briganti's Automotive to everyone. I finally found a good mechanic!!

Mel was helpful, informative, and communicated everything in advance. He fixed our BMW timely and under budget. He runs a first class shop. Couldn t have asked for better experience.

I first met Mel ( the owner) when my jetta started running very bad. Best way to describe it. I was able to get the car there even though it didnt want to shift or just about move. Turned out to be a coil. It was easily diagnosed and fixed. While i was there they pointed out a know issue of a leaking valve cover gasket. I baught the car used and that was the major issue pointed out during the cars inspection from my normal mechanic. So thats a positive for Brigantis. I decided to take a chance and have Brigantis replace the valve cover gasket. Had some minor delays but the wait was worth it. I no longer have a leak at the valve cover gasket. The price was fair and i feel confident that the leak will not retun in the near future. I say near future because i have a turbo and i do kick in the turbo often on the communte. I also had the oil changed, plugs and remaining coils done at my decision. I recommend Brigantis for their knowlede, honesty and workmanship. I am sure there are places that cost less but i feel better on my commute of 3 hours each day.

I am a current CalPoly SLO student that decided to take short cuts and cut costs by replacing only the brake pads and not resurfacing. Well, time has come that I needed to replace a lot of damage I have done to the brakes by cutting costs.Mel and Denise are very great people and great parents getting their kids through college. Just as I work to support my family, I am aware that they do too.They went above and beyond and did more than I expected.I am very thankful that here in my town I know a mechanic that can relate to my college life.Highly recommended!

Excellent shop, and experienced staff. Took time to actually look my car before s busy holiday weekend, gave me a fair estimate, and had it done the morning after. Definitly going to be back in the future. Hats off to Mel in particular for his frank and friendly business practices.

Passing thru town I was in need of a oil change. They got me in/out quickly with a full 45 point inspection. Great price and satisfactory customer service. Highly recommend.

Recently had my car in for an intermittent problem. They drove the car numerous times and checked a number of items but could not recreate the problem. Despite the time they put into it, there was no charge. Work I've had done in the past on other cars was always well done.
