Bought a used car with a 1 year old catalytic converter and a theft-deterring cage over it. The CC worked fine, but the state of CA required a different one to be installed before SMOG could be passed. Bought an approved one and had these guys install it. Took 3 days, which was inconvenient and we are very disappointed that they never gave us back the cat converter that they removed and even put the cage in the trunk instead of re-installing it! How was doing that going to protect it from or help deter theft? We are not going back to a place that keeps our expensive car parts and doesn t even complete the job!

I cannot think of any other places that can provide such a high-quality service. I arrived at 9:10 and I left at 9:28. I finished the smog test and all the paperwork in 18 minutes. I also managed to download a coupon from their website so I got additional $15 off. There is no other additional fee. I would highly recommend this place. It is right in front of the trash light so it can be a little bit easy to miss.

I had my Yukon Denali in a Ranch for a 2 years without moving.. I took my Denali here and they did a great job on replacing the all of the Radiator parts, brakes, battery and repaired my electrical issues. Great Service and Price.

Excellent service!I pulled up at 4:45pm with no appointment and was in and out with my 2012 Chevy Volt in 10 min. $65 for the service cause I didn't use a coupon, but for the convenience of it was Worth it.

Vinh has been keeping my workhorse 04 Suburban running for over 6 years.He is honest, does a terrific job and always works with me to keep costs down. He s offered me options for used parts for major repairs, and is always totally up front on what different options will cost. This week he told me I could fix one of the issues myself by watching a 2 minute YouTube video.I enthusiastically recommend Vinh and Hayward Smog to anyone !

The service was quick and easy. I m usually super skeptical about going to auto repair places because they try to upsell you. But I couldn t be happier with the efficient service and transparent explanation when it came to my vehicle. I d definitely recommend having them check out your car.

Vingh was super professional and experienced! He replaced my headlight within just 20 mins, and it wasn't an easy task as my car's front right side of the bumper was seriously indented.

looking for star smog check shouldn't be this difficult. it took me a few days to look for the right shop that doesn't over charge or put too many hidden fees. to the point I'm almost giving up, I tried this shop. its like, man should've gone to this place in the first place.price up front, on the wall.get you checked in. honored the online coupon.get my car certification done in no time.Awesome, thank you. Honest work at a really great price! Take my toyota rav4 here every ~5,000 miles and know my car is being taken care of. Making an appointment is easy, always very responsive! I have been going here over a year now and haven't had one problem!

Highly recommended for smog and car repairs. My brakes were going bad so I talked to several of the shops in the area and Vinh worked with me on price options and was able to fit me in same day. Prices are reasonable and options were transparent. I will be back.

Don't believe all other fake reviews! I wish there was a 0 star rating because that s what they deserve! They are crooks and thieves. They charge 3 or 4 times real cost for each labor. If you are not an expert on the cost of the car repair they are going to take advantage of that.

Called around 10am to ask for a 12:30pm appt for a smog. He was able to accommodate. When I showed up he was able to get my smog done quickly. It is always a smooth transition with Vinh. He also has a coupon on his website for smog checks, so check it out!

Good smog service and negotiable price thank you.After calling to many smog shops and asking for the price most of them said $70 the only one said $45 was this shopAbsolutely they have the best price in Hayward for smog test also they have a mechanic shop.

I've brought 4 different cars here at least 10 times total for over 5 years and every time Vinh was honest, quick and reasonably priced. I strongly suspect the person giving the main bad review is a competitor or has some sort of ax to grind. I've seen nothing from this business that seems even slightly shady to me. The shop could be a little nicer, but I'm paying for good service not for the world's prettiest shop.

They are very nice. There's a very good coupon online to print out. It cost me $45 out the door with the coupon and they even checked my air pressure for free.

Been taking my car here to get smog checked since 2008 when Vinh first opened. Since then he's added auto repairs as well. Every time I go his prices have always been fair and has given me outstanding customer service! Definitely will be taking my car here in the future if I need repairs. Helped me out with my CRV with an oil change and it failed smog due to me installing a new battery. I was explained what I had to do in order for the monitors to be ready. Came back after an hr and it worked out fine. Good people n a good shop.

Don't usually post ASAP. Reasonable and fair pricing. Upfront and quick turnaround when possible. I was lucky the truck didn't need major fix for smog. Professionalism like this found in few and far in between.

Got a smog check on a Friday lunch time/afternoon. Called ahead and confirmed availability for drive in today. Arrived, was told 10 minutes, barely sat down on the spacious waiting area with plush leather sofas and bottled water dispenser and it was done. Tested, passed, submitted to DMV electronically within 10 minutes and Vinh said we just needed to pay DMV and our new registration would come in two weeks. Fast and efficient. Awesome service. We re going to bring our other car when it s time. Definite recommend.

Had a terrible noise coming from my engine bay. Saw they had a lot of good reviews so I thought I'd give em a shot. They diagnosed the problem within an hour or two and had it fixed up for me by the next day. Didn't try to upsell anything and they gave me a pretty decent price for the work they did. Would definitely recommend.

Vin and his team did a great job putting a transmission in my Colorado and fixing a number of other issues to get it smogged. The work was professional and pricing was excellent and the truck runs great! Thanks Vin!

ABSOLUTELY ROCKS !!!Great service on smog, but i also love this place for oil changes, as well as car service ... they're replaced a leaking valve cover gaster for me, as well as a leaking transmission pan, i KNEW the leaks were there but didn't mention them, but they advised me and asked if i'd like to have it fixed.I shopped around about 2 seconds, then stopped, because the quote offered was by far better than anything else i got over the phone, and i dind't feel like driving down to another shop to grind on someone for a lower price.Quality work, great pricing, solid service ... winning, and that is not always easy to get when it comes to car service, gets 5 stars from me for doing everything right !

Always get my smogs here.I had one of my cars fail in the last 10 years and they told me the issue , how to fix it and as soon as I did what they said it passed. I only paid for the 1 time. They get you in and out quickly with friendly affordable service.
