If your looking for great, reliable, and honest mechanics, A-1 Auto in Hayward is the place to go! Ernesto, Luis and the team are great. My truck was shaking at every stop light and they were able run a diagnostics, explain what was going on with it (in an easy to understand way) and gave me options on what could be done to fix it. A new set of fuel injectors later I was back on the road. I even referred my Mom and Step Dad and they are now my go to family's mechanic.

I cannot say enough about what a great business this is. For years I have been bringing all of my autos to Ernesto at A1 auto repair when service or attention was needed and every single time I received excellent service, professional and thorough!Five stars all around for affordability and reputable work! The Transmission on my 07 Ranger went down. I got a couple estimates from different places. A-1 was the most reasonable, to my have transmission rebuilt. I set up a day with Ernesto to bring my truck in. He told me it would take about a week. Gave him a deposit and was on my way. After a week and a couple days ( due to a certain parts delayed delivery). I got my truck back. Ernesto & I took a little test drive and everything seemed good. Even felt like I gained a few HP'S.The final payment was exactly what Ernesto quoted. Which is important. Some guys always try to flip some excuse to jack up the final balance a little more. But Ernesto kept his word.Overall the experience was swift & painless. Fair price for reasonable good work. Other than my truck having to be left in a open lot, in front of the shop every night. It was a little worrisome. I have to say though, nothing did happen to my truck and was left untouched.I recommend A-1. Definitely helped me in my situation, and got me back on the road .

The shop owner or manager was cool to work with he gave me a great price to replace my engine and the repairs were done thoroughly and correct and within a timely manner so I would highly recommend this auto shop to local and Bay Area resident's. let him know that Walter sent you... So I was calling around to have my transmission repair..Damn the prices was higher than the clouds.. shop a few quotes me 6k, 5.3k and finally came across Ernesto the Owner his was reasonably competitive for 3.5 to rebuild mine.. I am highly Satisfy with 12000 or 12 months warranty..so look no further guys!Happy Hunting!2007 Lexus RX350 transmission rebuild!

I just want to thank Ernesto and the whole A1 Auto Repair and transmission for all the hard work and love they showed fixing my 1987 Cadillac Eldorado they put a a lot of passion in hard work into fixing my transmission even going out of their way to give me a brand new transmission in Texas cuz the car is a old school car I appreciate them and I highly recommend them anybody having transmission issues they quoted me a good price that was a fordable and I'm thankful for them.Service: Transmission

Thus is the worst auto shop in Hayward, he messed up sister's car, and he admitted to it, but he will not make her whole! I would never recommend this shop to anyone DON'T TAKE YOUR CAR THERE YOU EILL REGRET IT!!
