They have just a terrible attitude there. I would avoid at all costs. They are not about the customer experience. Plenty of other options in Grass Valley. Do yourself a favor and explore them versus this place. The owner Sim is very abusive and argumentative loves to pick fights so the other reviews here are totally on point.

I decided to delete my positive review and update because of my most recent experience here. Sim, the owner felt it necessary to verbally abuse me and waste my time over a simple and easily correctable mistake on my part. My apologies didn't matter, and he continued harassing me as I got into my vehicle to leave.I'll gladly stop going to Ray's and give my business to Certified for repairs and J&S for smog inspections.Good luck, Sim.

Best smog price in town. Often in and out in under 10 minutes. Sometimes they have complimentary donuts! Are you kidding me? Why go anywhere else.

I used to go to this place for all my smog needs, but this last time he treated my daughter very disrespectful and when I went back for a retest the owner treated me like I was an idiot child. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone ever again.

WOW! Just got my car smogged . Nicest guys, super friendly and highly recommend! Fastest time ever! I don t think it even took 5 minutes . Totally 5 STARS!!!

Wow! I cannot say enough about this smog shop! I pulled in, was greeted pleasantly and was in and out in less than 10 minutes! Their prices are better than anyone in town plus their attitude is 10x better than competitors I've used in thr past.I will forever take my vehicles here!Thank you guys for making a smog so pleasant!

My wife and I take all my vehicles to get smog checked at Ray's. I also gpt my Father in law going too.The mechanics are friendly. The smog checks are so fast and I haven't found a better price.

I have been patronizing this local family owned business for many years and they never cease to amaze my experience and exceed my expectations!! Time after Time! I have had them do simple smog test certifications to major mechanical services! They are not just a Radiator Shop! They are a One Stop Complete Fully Major Mechanical Service Shop Garage from Tires to Electrical! Don't take your vehicle anywhere else!! Fair, Honest and Economical! Integrity and Honesty with awesome Customer Service!! Sim, Josh and the whole entire staff are very friendly and they love to WOW their customers!!

I go every two years. Been three times now. Smog check. Easy in and out. They make it so convenient and they are reasonable. I won't go anywhere else. These guys are professional and polite.

I have had my 2018 Toyota Tacoma serviced at Ray's twice. Once for the smog test and the other for oil change/tire rotation. Each time the technicians were knowledgeable and courteous. They gave me an estimate of what it would cost. I appreciate that they patiently answered all my questions before and after the service. I recommend going to Ray's! Great job!!!

Ray's Radiator is a family-owned business that has been serving Grass Valley for over 20 years. They are Star Certified and provide quick, efficient, and friendly service. I highly recommend them.

I ve only ever gone here for smog, but they are super fast and very cheap. You drive up and instantly someone comes up and gives you paperwork to fill while they test your car. In and out in 5-10 min even when super busy.

They were great! Super fast service, lots of socially distant seating and hand sanitizer available, as well as local paper. They even pulled my car around to face the road for easy exit when I was done. And the price was probably the lowest around. We will definitely be using them from now on!

I love this place. The day before my registration was due, I realized that I needed a smog certificate. I went to Ray's last year and had a good experience and so I went back this year. I like how they don't require an appointment for a smog check. I just drove up, told them what I needed, and my car was ready to go about 15-20 minutes later. Fast and friendly service.

Dishonest. Avoid at all costs.If you own a vehicle older than 1996 you will most likely fail. Then have to repay for a retest. They do not honor free re test if you fail for 1996 and older cars. They are good at finding something that they can interpret as a reason to fail you so that they can get paid twice. I was failed for having an aftermarket air cleaner filter. Which I have had smog check done elsewhere with no issues. I had to pay them and then go to another smog shop and pay them again. Guess what it passed! That smog shop said the code book says 96 and older cannot be failed for having aftermarket air filter.As I tell people about my experiences I keep hearing the same type of review about rays radiator and smog shop. I have a good friend who took his son's truck they were working on in to get pretested to see what they had to do They specifically asked not to run the smog but to do a pretest. Ray's proceeded to run the test anyway and give them a gross polluter status which gave them a time frame they had to get everything fixed. He was furious. Wish I had talked to him before I went here.

WOW! so fast for a smog! wasn t even 10 minutes i spent there and thats including paying! the price was a little over $45 which was also the cheapest in town. dont waste time and money elsewhere!

Only STAR certified smog check near me. They took in my car as soon as I arrived and I was done in probably about 10 minutes. The mechanic also pointed out two hoses that were deteriorating so I could replace them myself. Really appreciate the honesty. I will be going there next time.

Went here to document a smog failure. $40 and ten minutes later they were done. I had to sit through a gratuitous monologue regarding what might be wrong, but that only took a couple of minutes. I waited in a lawn chair under a shade tree during my test with 2 other customers and a dog. This is not a Lexus dealer.

Unprofessional, I would never suggest this place to anyone. Ray has quite a reputation around town for being a horrible person.
