I had a good experience there.. What I thought was a thermostat problem turns out to be a big crack in my radiator... I think that any other auto shop would of fix the thermostat problem and charged me only to tell me later about the crack radiator ,, that has happened to me in the past with other problems I have had in the past.. They seem to be a honest auto shop... I will go back to them for my Radiator to be fix.. Thank you Gold Country Auto

Was in and out within a few hours.We had a situation that tested their integrity (they could ve easily billed me an extra $100 for something I didn t need) and they really passed the test in flying colors which makes me feel like they care!Thanks!

Went there to check my engine, they said it would take two hours. It took over seven. They were consistently rude, dismissive, and disrespectful. I had a kid to take care of and feed. I couldn't afford to wait that long, but they were completely nonchalant about it even when it came close to their closing time. I can say with 100% certainty that I will never go back there.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Tom and his team were very kind, down to earth and very honest and helpful! Saved me alot of money actually and went thee extra mile TO SAVE me money. I was honest about not being very knowledgeable about cars and he just laughed and said "don't worry we'll make sure everything is safe and easy to maintain and keep it in good shape for you and your daughtes safety". and he didn't hesitate to fix the little things here and there, like there were a couple cables falling off or not attached properl, he replaced and or fixed them, a bolt was missing etc. He didn't even charge me for half of the work he did! He didn't take advantage of a "dumb" female, he did honest work for honest return and THAT'S worth more than money these days!! Great people with the integrity you don't see or expect from folks these days. I'm not taking my car anywhere else!! I have been using Gold Country Auto for at least 6 years. They have taken care of 3 of my vehicles and keep me up to date with all my maintenance on my newest car. This is so important because I do not naturally remember to maintain my vehicles. The staff treats me with a professional attitude and I really like to personal customer service I receive. The prices are totally reasonable and there work is excellent, I have never had a problem with anything they have done. I work with an crew of guys and they always have to add their two cents about pricing and what parts would use, when I need something fixed, Gold Country has been spot on every time with price and quality. I have total trust in Kevin and his staff at Gold Country Auto. I have recommended many friends and they are always happy with the service and thankful they have an honest mechanic they can count on.

I cannot say enough good things about this place! I called them after being jumped by AAA when my Prius starter battery died. They agreed to replace my battery (which they had in stock) and help me out 15 minutes before closing. They also gave me a AAA discount . The service was friendly and courteous. The next time I need my Prius serviced I am going to take it there.Service: Battery

I had a terrible experience with Gold Country Automotive. I received a discount coupon for an oil change and general sevice. I took my car in and did not get my car back for over a week. I was out of town, so it wasn't a big deal, but I had to call them to inquire if the car was done. The lady that answered the phone treated me like I should have magically known the car was finished. I don't know why they wouldn't call me to let me know the car was ready. I asked them to look at an oil leak, but they chose not to look because they said I had an internal engine problem, but I made it clear that I wanted them to identify the leak. They simply would not do it. When I went to pick up my car, they tried to charge me 4 times the amount the advertisement said I should pay. I haggled with them over the price, but had to pay twice as much as I should have just to leave. In addition to all of this, when I dropped off the car, there was a pit bull in the office that growled at me when I came in. Overall, a terrible experience and I recommend finding a different spot for your automotive care.

I've been taking my vehicles to Grass Valley Gold Country�Automotive for the past nine years; I completely�trust, rely on and recommend these guys. I always leave having peace of mind knowing my car is safe to drive. I find assurance�off- roading that if I bust something, these mechanics will fix it right. In my experience they have been honest and more than fair. I appreciate them taking the time to explain things to me. As a female I HAVE had auto shops lie and try to scare me, that is not what you will find here. Awesome mechanics. I took my new car in cause the water pump was leaking. Found out that there was more problems with my car than the dealership told me about. Gold country found the problems and repaired it for me. My car is running great now. Very nice and professional mechanics. Would recommend them to anyone who needs repairs on their vehicle.

No trustworthy at all. I went 2 times to Gold Country Automative, I was happy with the service even if they are pricey and two person I know told me to not go there because they tried to charge them crazy amounts of money. I went for a third time because of a loss of power on my 88 Toyota RV, thinking it might be something simple with the gasoline distribution. They called me while they had my vehicule in their shop, telling me they had found the issue (in a kind of positive way). I'm thinking I was right and it's no big deal. I quote Kevin � you will need a new engine, we found one with a 3 years warranty bla bla bla it's gonna be 7.6k $ and you'll be ready to go next week!�. I couldn't believe what he said (also that my engine was sounding just right and it's was rebuilt about 30k miles ago). He changed the sparks splug and I told them I can't afford to change the engine for now. Apparently the sparks plugs melted/broken would have damaged the cylinders. As soon as I went to get my vehicule, I paid them 150$ for sparks splugs, I drove to an other mechanic in Grass Valley that was recommended to me. They checked with a camera the cylinders and the compression in the cylinders. NOT ONLY THERE WAS NO DAMAGED IN THE CYLINDERS, the tips of the sparks plugs where not even well installed. The issue was actually the catalictic converter that was clogged. We had it changed for 750$ and the car is working amazing again. We all know how much we put our trust in mechanics because a lot of us are very ignorant of cars. And I really felt I was took advantage of at this garage. It's not everybody that has the money to put almost 8 k in a vehicule. The worse it's that I am thinking they would have change the motor and realize after that the problem isn't solved and that the CC was clogged and charge us an other grand on top of it. I think this story speek to itself and if I could put 0 stars I would.

They are over priced. And seem to be dishonest..I brought my truck in to get breaks looked at told me the hydrolics and master cylinder, rotors an pads need to be changed for $2200! Did not have the money at the time so got towed home brought to a different shop when I did have the money "top tech automotive" turns out hydrolics are fine master cylinder is fine an all the other Bs they told me was wrong top tech didn't even mention an got priced at $895! That's over $1000 difference.

Had been going to these guys for awhile and recently when my truck started acting up I took it in a few times and was basically told the truck is toast and to drive it till it dies or get a new vehicle. I don t think they even tried to diagnose the issue because when I took it to plaza for a second opinion they replaced the distributor and one of the fuel injectors and it runs fine now.

I ve taken several vehicles to Gold Country over the years. They are fast, effective and always honest. They were great at dealing with my insurance company as well! Highly recommended!

After living in two states and road tripping extensively (Canada to mexico, Colorado, Utah, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, etc) and dealing with breakdowns everywhere under the sun, I can t begin to articulate how AWESOME gold country auto is. Impeccable, no BS service. Fair prices for the best help! Five stars ain t enough. Thanks Gold country! Also: Tom is the man.

I took my Subaru Outback for a major tune up, when I took the car the guy at the front scribble a confusing estimate hard to understand, stupid me I did no request a detail one with a clear price; when I pick up on the same date, they charged me about $1300, if I had done this at the Subaru dealership it would had cost me $950. AVOID this place, it is a rip of!Service: Oil change
