Please don't bring your car here. I took mine in for a coolant leak ($900 fix somehow for a "water pump housing") and left with a clanking engine and a check engine light reading for four codes. I brought it in to see what they had done wrong and they said it was a system error. They turned the light off manually and lied to my face about the issues they caused. Save your time and money and do not come here. After talking to others, it turns out they are well known for this. Took my car elsewhere and was assured my coolant leak was not fixed, the water pump housing was not the issue, and all the codes popping up and sounds coming from my engine were indeed caused by these guys. Unfortunately now I have to take action to escalate this only causing more stress and time.

Trustworthy, professional, and friendly. Couldn't ask for a better mechanic. I use them whenever I cannot make the aervice or repairs myself. They are the best.

We have used this shop for many years, apparently it is now under new management. Brought one of the cars in for smog certification., but day before appt check engine light came on, we were told to bring it in anyway. We were charged $65 just to plug in the code reader, Auto Zone does for free we found out later. Were never charged this before in similar situations. Were then told 2 parts needed replacement to pass smog and were verbally quoted a cost of $300 parts and labor. Jay said he was going to order the parts.Drove the car for a few days. Check engine light never came back on. Called Jay and he told me that parts were going to be over $500, who knows what the labor was going to be at their shop rates. Decided to take it to Auto Zone to do the FREE test and all monitors were just fine. Took it over to a different Smog Shop and it passed with flying colors. Moral of the story, this shop is not what it used to be when Scott was there (he's at Plaza now in NC), gut feeling was not a good one and we were right.Service: Auto maintenance

I want to start by saying this shop admitted they didn't have the time to do the work I needed done and I do respect that honesty. What I don't respect is getting my car back in a worse shape than what I gave to them. After picking up my car I went home and could not get it into park. Suddenly reverse was park. Called the shop and they had me drive back up to check it out. The tech looked inside the car at my gear shift for 10 seconds and just told me it was worn out and I'd have to replace the whole thing even though my gear shift was solid when I brought the vehicle in. It's taken me a week, and renting a car to get to and from work, to have the time to figure out what the actual problem is but they broke the top of the bolt that connects my gear shift to the transmission off and it can't go into park because it's not properly attached. It's perfectly acceptable to not have the man power to do a job but to return a car broken, not have the technician properly diagnose the problem, and have the customer find the problem and find some else to fix it is disappointing to say the least. I shouldn't be punished for having my car looked at. They're clearly under staffed and have no care for new clients so unless you're established with this family don't bring your car here. I have better video of the break but unfortunately Google review won't let me upload.Service: Electrical

Went to get my truck smog checked and was amazed that, even though I was 15 minutes early, they got my truck right in. It is probably the shortest wait I have had in all the years I have had to get my vehicle smog checked. The only suggestion I have is that better arrangements be made for people waiting for their vehicle, especially for senior citizens. I saw only 1 chair inside though there were 2 chairs outside under an umbrella but sitting in the heat is hard on older people. Either a bigger umbrella and/or a circulating fan would improve the situation.

Great service! Came in with a bad AC compressor on my 2006 Mustang. I was on a bit of a time crunch and they were able to fit me in the next day and repaired the AC in one day. Fair prices and very knowledgeable. I would recommend.

I needed to get all 4 of my Struts replaced on a 2006 Lexus GS300 with 260k+ miles on it.I heard many Great things about Certified Automotive so I decided to bring my car there.Ed and Scott were there to assist and went over all of the expectations.I was assuming it would be a 2 day job and planned for it, however they were able to complete the entire job in one day.I highly recommend Certified Automotive for any of your car repairs and will definitely be going back to them as needed.

Went and had a power steering pump replaced. The labor was more then the parts. I was charged with a hey your power steering is leaking inspection....yeah, thank you it was the reason I brought it in.Lastly they kept the vehicle for an extra day and didn't decide to call me to let me know what was going on.Now we will see if the work was good.

I've had nothing but positive experiences here. When I moved here I had a pretty rusted out trailblazer and they were always quick, courteous, and the bill is less than what they quoted. I have only gone back to certified auto since I found them.I had visited 5 other mechanics before finding Scott and ed. All of the others were rude and condescending, and wanted to upcharge for maintenance due to the rust. (I'm from Michigan, rust is inevitable with the long harsh winters there) example: charge $15 for every rusted bolt removed in addition to labor fees.

Mechanics are good, never had a problem with a repair. But the thing is, these days there are lots of good mechanics around, and in the Age of the Impersonal Internet, it's all about customer service.So, my husband and I thought this was a great shop until they put Scott on the front desk; since then, our customer experience has gotten worse and worse. He seems to have no people skills and is unable to speak to me as an intelligent human being. I can't say it's about women because today he talked down to my husband to such a degree that my husband blew up and I almost never see him pushed to that point by anyone, for any reason.As of now, I'm looking for a new shop.

I always can count on Certified Automotive. When other shops want to put me off for a couple of weeks, Ed and his crew have always been accommodating to my needs, sometimes at the last minute. Took my truck in to get a window motor replaced. Several days later, I get a call that it didn't need replaced and to come pick it up. $260 bill for a switch on my center console to get replaced. I had $40 stolen from my truck, got into an argument with the shop owner about it, after which he handed me $40. I know he didn't take it, but I know for a fact it was taken, because there was an ATM receipt with the money that I had just withdrawn and left in my vehicle on accident when I dropped it off. I was going to keep my mouth shut about this, but then..And then the kicker: about a month later, my window motor goes out completely with the window stuck down, in the middle of the rain season. Between paychecks, and having already spent a few hundred dollars on the problem, there's no way I can afford to have this issue fixed (AGAIN). So I came here to vent over the mold I now have building up in my truck.Don't take your vehicles here.

We were a new military family to the area when I met Ed Mortara at a couple NU soccer games. Ed's commitment to his sons and their interest impressed me. Then my truck had unexpected troubles; I went to the closest repair shop and was instantly relieved when Ed walked up to the counter. I knew that a man with such high family values must apply a high standards to his business. For three years now I have taken our families vehicles, vehicles driven by my teenage sons, to Ed Mortara with confidence.

I have a hot rod with a new after market a/c. Ed and his crew did a great job of charging it,explaining what they did, and what I need to watch-out for with a new system in an older car. Fast and courteous.

Looked at my issue in a timely manner however I am giving two stars because my radiator cap was not put on again when they were done- three days later I looked under the hood and found it tucked in under the hood, extremely careless mistake on their part that could have been very bad.
