Drove in for a smog inspection. Staff was friendly and efficient. The inspection was quick, and I was finished within 30 min.

My daughter, at school, needed a new alternator and battery for her car. Usually I would replace them but not an option as the car was at school. She called around the UCSB area for quotes. Fast Lane's quote was hundreds less than the others she got so she took it there. Danny in the Goleta location was a damn rock star! He replaced the alternator, at the quoted price, and then suggested that the battery be replaced, not at his shop, but at Costco. He recognized the battery still had warranty life left on it (he was correct - new battery cost $20 at Costco with warranty credit). In this day and age to find a shop and mechanic that does right by a college kid? A shop that you can absolutely trust to handle maintenance on your daughter's car? How much is that worth? Priceless. Danny & Fast Lane...very well done gentlemen. You have my gratitude and future business.

Went for DMV SMOG Inspection. The mechanic on shift today was the best. The garage was, but had everything under control with mastery that by itself was entertaining to watch. I will add that he had a very pleasant presence about him. I am going back!

I used to go to the State St shop before I moved. The SB shop had always been good.This is my first visit to the Fairview shop. I had called to make sure they were open due to COVID-19. The person was nice and helpful. When I got there, a staff member was getting upset that I wasn't pulling up fast enough and when I asked how long it would take then tried to rush an answer out of me if I wanted the oil change or not. They did finish an oil change and smog within the time they said they would and the price was comparable.None of the staff and the majority of the customers were not wearing masks. They did have gloves on.

The efficient mechanic serviced 4 cars in an hour, my vehicle passed smog, and I had a $10 off coupon. So I felt good about the whole experience.

They were very courteous and helpful. I failed smog first time, but they told me exactly why and what part I probably needed to replace. I took their advice, did an easy replacement myself and it worked great. I m sure I saved a lot of money. Passed the second time!

The service is fast and convenient. The prices are on par with other places in Santa Barbara (I've looked all over and the cheapest synthetic oil change I found was $75, and that was Sears which is now closed). I am guessing $50 was not in the Santa Barbara area... I prefer this place because I don't like waiting all day for my oil to be changed at the dealer.

I often take my car to fast lane located on Fairview Avenue in goleta. Most of the times guys are sitting having fun but when they get customers they seem interrupted and make faces. One time the guy wanted to charge me $100 dollars for an oil change when I always pay less than $50 at dealer ship and other time he wanted me to pay him under the table. It s just unbelievable how this business is still open with such lazy people. I honestly take it here because I have no choice, I m in a rush all the time and no other shops are available to me.Service: Oil change

While I appreciate their no reservation service, experience was that it took 45 minutes for a smog check. There is one service person and he can be helping up to three people at a time (doing oil changes, paperwork, smogs, payments, tires, and do on) so be prepared to drop your car and walk around to the nearby grocery store or taco bell. If you don't have high expectations for for customer service they will get the job done for you. I would reccommend for smog if you aren't on a tight timeline and have a straightforward service.

Honest and fast. I've gone here several times for smog tests and I'll certainly return again. Took about 30 minutes. The people there are friendly and professional even when they are obviously very busy.

Great service! First time I've been there. Walked in around 5:20pm and they still made time for me to do a smog check before they closed. I'd recommend them for sure.

I waited here an hour for a synthetic oil change and they wanted to charge me $105 for my car where every other place charges $50. My car has a smaller oil tank which is why it s less expensive. Save yourself from getting ripped off here.
