Eric was very helpful and thoroughly explained the problem I was having and the process on how it gets fixed. Upon noticing the severity of the condition of my car, he was able to squeeze me in the same day and I was able to pick up my fixed car the very next day! It runs great now and I have peace of mind driving and can enjoy using it this weekend. Thanks Eric!Service: Engine repair

Best autoshop i ve ever been to. Honest. Kind. Quick. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would. I recently got a vw on my move up for college to santa barbara. My battery recently died and needed replacing and i went to autozone, o reilys, and four different autoshops with no luck. Many different businesses tried to scam me, had long wait times, or made the process very difficult. Whoever here they took me in and fit me into there schedule. I was in and out very quickly. The customer service was beyond wonderful. I will from now on only be coming here for my car troubles. On top of the impecable service, at the end of the service I asked if they accepted apple pay because in the craziness and hassle of the day i had lost my credit card. I offfered to walk and get cash back or come back and drop off cash but the owner refused and told me the service was on him and to have a nice day. I will be going back and leaving a tip. This is the place to go 10/10!Service: Battery

The guys at Fairview Motors are friendly and professional . They made it convenient for me to drop off my truck. They gave me a ride home. They quickly and thoroughly evaluated my trucks suspension made some adjustments and fixed the problem. The cost was very reasonable. It was overall a great experience and I ll definitely be going back to them again.

I come down to Goleta about every other month to see my 92 year old mom and this time, my 2011 Subaru Forester, had a little shimmy on the HWY. I brought it in first to get my wheels balanced but that didn't help. I took the advice and recommendation to call Eric at Fairview Motors. Eric was very helpful and knowledgeable and figured out that it was my front axle. He was able to get the part the next day and went out of his way to complete the job that same day!! After a very smooth ride back home to Santa Rosa (7 hours) I can't say enough about how grateful I am to have brought my car to Eric at Fairview motors. Excellent job! And great customer service. Erik makes sure that you're comfortable while waiting for your car, and they go the extra mile to asure that they do everything they can to do a good job so you won't have to come back. I went for alignment and they even took my car for balance to a close by shop because they don't do balance. Excellent work!

I am a student and I have had my second hand car for a year now and it made some problems for me. I have been talking to Erik at this store and I find him very professional, fair and knowledgable about car issues. They are very punctual and accurate about their appointments and the time they finish their services. I like this place a lot. It is definitely my to go place when my car is broke.

I never leave reviews but these guys were so great I'm doing my first one. I brought my 2011 ford fusion hybrid to Ford to replace a wheel bearing, they estimated the job would cost at least $800 up to $2000 to fix. I told them I wanted to shop around a bit, went to a couple of places and they said they were too booked to help me. I was stranded in Santa Barbara and was afraid my car wouldn't make it back to LA. The owner Eric told me it was no problem and they'd have me taken care of in a few hours. His estimate was only $350 for the job! They dropped me off at my hotel AND picked me back up and when I got there the total cost was even cheaper at $315. I've never been so happy about a mechanic in my life. 100% recommended if you're in the area and need some work done on your vehicle.

I cannot say enough good things about Eric and Darryl. My wife and I have brought our cars (a 1999 Corolla and a 2000 Concorde) to them for years for maintenance as well as repairs. We keep returning because they consistently do great work for a great price. I first learned that I could trust them years ago when I brought my car in for maintenance that I thought I needed and for which I expected to pay at least $300. After taking a look at my car, they said it was well-maintained and that it only needed an oil change. In the end, I only paid a tenth of the cost that I had expected to pay - they easily could have taken me for so much more! And they have spent several hours researching and diagnosing various problems my car has without charging me more than the basic 1-hour diagnosis fee on more than one occasion, and occasionally have not charged me a diagnosis fee at all.Yesterday, we dropped off my wife's car because we could smell oil burning. By the end of the day, they had figured out the problem, ordered the needed part, and confirmed the issue was fixed. The total cost for diagnosis, cleaning up the oil, and installing and testing the part? $9.72! Apparently they replaced the part in question (valve cover gaskets) back on October 21, 2013 (about 13.5 months ago) and they volunteered on their own to honor the expired 12-month warranty.If you want an extremely honest, knowledgeable, and reputable mechanic that will charge highly reasonable rates, this is the place to go. I also agree with what others have said - these guys are also courteous, able to explain what is going on, and very easy to talk to.April 17, 2019 update: the above, original review was posted four years ago. My wife and I still return to Eric and Darryl for all our car maintenance needs. Absolutely phenomenal service, a great price, and consistent honesty. I got my car smogged a few weeks ago (had to go elsewhere - service not offered here) and they said I needed a power steering flush for over $120. I immediately brought the car over and within four minutes Darryl told me that yes, the fluid is a little dirty but it's nothing that can't wait until the next oil change, and off the top of his head, the fee would be 80-90 bucks ("certainly under $100"). I hadn't yet shared what the smog check place's price, and when I did, Darryl suggested three places to go to in the future. I'll be headed to one of them next time!

I've had an issue with my brake pedal for nearly four years! I've brought the issue up to multiple garages in the past, describing it the best I could and have always been told "they couldn't replicate the problem." But I know I'm not crazy and a few weeks back when I had to stop suddenly my brakes locked up and I skidded partially into an intersection. If I had been on the freeway and had to stop suddenly like that I wouldn't have been able to. Turns out I needed my ABS module replaced. Erik from Fairview Motors did literally everything to figure out what the problem was. He went deeper than any other mechanic was willing to go to solve my issue and because of him I'm driving a much safer vehicle today. I can already tell the difference in my brakes after just driving it for one day. Not only that he had to smooth out my rotors because the problem over time had made them uneven and he didn't even charge me.If you want to know your car is in good hands of someone who cares about your safety rather than just collecting a bill from you take your car to Eric at Fairview Motors.

I can "turn a wrench", so when I talk about repairs I can tell when a person knows his trade and is professional. Eric explained the possibilities, quoted me a fair estimate, and did the job faster than I expected. I've been going to Fairview Motors a couple of times over the years to have them done work on my truck that I don't want to do on my own, either because it's too complicated for my skillset or I don't have the right tools. Erik and the team are great! Super friendly to deal with on the phone and in person. They got the alignment on my Mustang dialed in. They will be my go to place and I'll be sure to recommend to friends and family.

I had a problem with my brake lights and was told it was an electrical problem by another group. Went to Eric and he was able to fix the problem in 2 minutes! Turns out, I just needed new bulbs! Thank you so much Eric for your honesty and for fitting me in today. I will definitely refer your company and will take all of my auto problems to you!

Had been experiencing a vibration in my front axles and it only worsened when I braked. I suspected that my disks were warped so I wanted to get them checked out. I called ahead and was able to get an appointment the next day, explaining my issue and receiving a time to come in and get the problem looked at.I came in the next day in time for my appointment and was greeted immediately, I was escorted to the office to explain my problem and was garenteed that it would be diagnosed within the hour. I was happy to hear that I wouldn't have to pay for the inspection if I ended up not going forward with any further work and was even told I could expect to get all repairs completed same day!After a test drive and a compete diagnosis, I accepted the quote of the consultation and was offered a complimentary ride back to work! Once repairs were complete I received a call letting me know and that I could call back when I was off the clock to get a ride back to the shop to inspect the job and take the car home. Upon reaching the shop I was able to ask more questions about how the job went, other parts of the car not serviced, warranty information if anything should go wrong. I left with a car in the best shape it's been in years, information about any future work I might need to get done, a warranty I know I can trust, a shop I know I can go back to for any work I can't do, and a smile on my face.

These guys really know their alignments. I have a Mercedes metris which is a funny vehicle to align correctly and I have had alignment issues since purchase period after four trips to the dealership and no luck Fair View Motors was able to align and improve my ride quality dramatically thank you.

Had a problem while on vacation and my brother in-law recommended this place . He was very busy but took the time to inspect my truck, advised me I had a serious tire problem that needed to be addressed immediately. He then checked other possibilities, found none and called a tire place nearby and made arrangements for me. And he did not charge me!! I wish we had an auto place where I live that treated their customers this way .
