Great job Enrique and Robert At the time of the repair. I drove away with vehicle running with what I thought was a $6,200 brand new transmission. The transmission gave out and left me and family stranded in the desert. It took AAmco Transmissions in Cathedral City to repair the reconstructed transmission (not new as we agreed). It s everyone s nightmare to make a arrangement for repairs and later on discover that you ve been scammed to believe you purchased a new product & they betray you with a used product . Shame on this AAMCO Shop. I spent $1,200 extra in Uber, expensive food, hotel, car rental & $300 tow service that wasn t reimbursed because tow truck driver wanted cash money. Thankfully I was reimbursed a portion of my expenses. I had to use my vacation money for this AAMCO scam See pictures of reconstructed transmission VS what was supposed to be installed for $6,200. They even put old screws back. Today my vehicle with its new transmission has been driven from Los Angeles to Guadalajara Mexico on round trips 5 times already and still running strong. Thanks to Cathedral City AAMCO Shop

I called three different AAMCOs for a quote on a transmission oil change. Glendale quoted me at $385/$400, Pasadena $285, and Burbank $275. A $10 difference is understandable, but a $100+ difference raises a few eyebrows. Glendale estimated 1.5 hours, while Pasadena and Burbank quoted 3 hours+. The service itself is 1.5 hours but the latter two were firm on test driving the car to make sure the transmission ran well after service. Moral of the story, shop around, ask questions, and quickest isn t always best.

I had my 2004 Volv Xc90 2.9T towed by AAA to this location for diagnoses of Vehicle issues. They estimated the work to cost around $4500 dollars for a simple CV Axle replacement, absolute highway robbery and down right thievery. I was told it's not worth it to replace part and that they would buy the SUV from me for a 1000 dollars. Scam artists.During the Towing process the AAA driver hooked the vehicle on the metal transmission cooler line breaking the metal oil cooler line. The AAA road site assistance driver took fault and agreed to repair my vehicle. AAMCO agreed to repair vehicle with said damage. When I picked the car up I was told the repair had been made on the transmission oil line. The car had to be towed again from AAMCO to my home. When the car arrived to my house I inspected the repair, AAMCO had not repaired the damage, but had attached a regular extension hose, (not recommended and dangerous) to fix the issue. When I called to confront them about the fake repair, I was told the car is not worth the repair and that I'm not being fair to the AAA road site assistance driver. The arrogance and hypocrisy of these people is deafening. Charging me 4500 for a 500 dollar job and telling me to get rid of my car, while on the same token telling me it's ok for others to destroy my items and not pay.STAY AWAY!Unbelievable.

If you are reading this, I recommend you go somewhere else. To start, they seemed friendly enough. We took out car there, knowing that it was a transmission issue we had dealt with years earlier. It started with a free diagnostic, that turned into 360.00 and when i asked about what was included in that price the manager Sadu, began to argue with me telling how had hard working mechanics who needed to be paid and I told him that wasn't in question i just wanted to know that the 360 would cover he finally understood what i was asking calmed down and told me it was for a in-depth diagnostic. Two days later, that price turned into 1400.00 for them to take the transmission out (again still not actually knowing what needed to be fixed or what the final total would be). After that was done another day later. I called in the morning, and he said he'd call back and didn't, I called again in the afternoon, and then he told me it would be 6450.00 to fix the transmission. (The car is a 2013 Nissan versa sv it is not even worth half that total anymore) when asked why it was so much and why it was triple what it had cost a couple years earlier to fix he said it the pandemic problem and that's just what it cost. We told him no on the final price that it was outrageous that we were better off just getting a whole new car and cutting our losses. That was a Friday, and he said he would have the car ready for pick up by Monday evening. I asked it I could be any sooner, and he said we'll try. I didn't here from him again until Tuesday saying the car was ready and that the bill was 1495.00 I told him we'd be there as soon as we were able because we didn't have the money just yet (because we had to buy a whole new car) he said fine. Then Thursday he called me leaving a message full of attitude saying how we needed to come get our car that we where wasting his space and if we were just planning on abandoning it because people do that all the time when they can't pay his prices he owed him the pink slip so he could sell it properly. I texted him back that he is offensive to even dare to think that we now would just be giving him our car, and I had told him that we would be in to get the car friday. Reminded him he said the car would be ready on monday and i didn't hear from him until mid day tuesday. He responded by saying that if we didn't get the car after Friday, he would charge 50 dollars a day until we came and got it. And like i told him, were there Friday morning at 845am, and I paid our bill in full (which, frankly, I don't think he even deserved).I think this place is a scam, and from what I've read from other reviews, we should have never gone there in the first place. That was my mistake. I find the owner nice until you ask a question, and then he gets defensive and argumentative and rude. Go anywhere else.

Robert and the whole staff are the most trustworthy and accommodating mechanics I know of. I trust them when it comes to pretty much everything with my car. Highly recommend.

Robert and Enrique were both very honest and knowledgable. I went in feeling like I was going to be pressured, but instead I was welcomed with great information and free diagnostic.Robert very kindly showed me a display transmission to show me how it works and what could've gone wrong with mine. It was very cool to see the insides of a transmission. Unfortunately, I did end up using another mechanic, but only because I found a rare deal on a pre-owned transmission from a family member, otherwise I would've definitely used them.I highly recommend this location and talking with Robert and/or Enrique about your transmission needs. The location is in a very convenient location, literally right next to the 2 freeway on-ramp. The location was clean and organized. Parking was easy.

I recently had a rather unfortunate experience when my brand new car's battery unexpectedly died on the freeway. As someone who doesn't have enough knowledge about cars, I often worry about being taken advantage of by specialists who may try to charge more by fabricating nonexistent car issues. However, my visit to AAMCO completely shattered that misconception.Located just a mere four minutes away from where I was stranded, AAMCO proved to be an absolute godsend. From the moment I walked through their doors, the staff went above and beyond to assist me.I cannot express enough gratitude to the entire team at AAMCO for their exceptional service. They turned what could have been a stressful and aggravating ordeal into a positive and uplifting experience. Their dedication, knowledge, and genuine care for their customers have earned my utmost respect.Thank you, AAMCO, for turning a potentially disastrous day into one filled with gratitude and relief. You have gained a loyal customer, and I will be sure to spread the word about your exceptional service to everyone I know.

Robert has gone out of his way more than once to help me with my vehicle issues. He was honest and helpful and was able to give me some insight on a diagnosis, and took time to explain everything. If I have any future mechanical problems I will go to Robert because honest and trustworthy mechanics/repair shops are hard to find.

Avoid this company if possible. The company kept my car for weeks without a resolution. Robert was looking for the part and it took so long that I even began looking for the part. After he received the part, it didn t work and now they want to charge me for diagnosing it, shipping for the parts to and from and also they let the battery drain out. My car at least started before I took it there and after they said they can t fix it, they wanted to charge me $300 and I would have to get it towed from there. I should have never been charged $300 for them doing nothing to the car. The dispute is still unresolved. I even called the corporate office. I want a resolution.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Grateful for Robert and his technicians. This is my third time here and they're always honest, knowledgeable, and provide frequent and thorough updates on the status of my vehicle. Robert is super transparent on pricing and doesn't make any moves until explaining everything clearly. They do great work and I appreciate having this spot in my neighborhood. No matter how busy Aamco is, Robert and Enrique are always professional, helpful and honest. My 1999 Lexus needed a timing belt replaced and Robert explained the repair process, parts costs and labor time - very straight forward; no hidden costs or surprises. My daughters and I only take our vehicles to this shop because we trust them. Thank you Robert and Enrique for servicing our cars these past three years!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair

Robert is the best!!! I live in Seattle but my daughter lives near Aamco. Robert was so helpful, and compassionate to helping my daughter with her car needs...water pump and radiator failed. His price was very fair, and his service is over the top. And they cleaned the engine, washed the car and cleaned inside. Thank you Robert for saving my daughter's car!!! I recommend him for anyone in the area, 10 stars!!!

I had a wonderful experience with this shop. They determined that the service I thought I needed wasn t needed. They didn t charge me for their time assessing the car but did notice another issue that the dealership had not noticed. They ended up completing this critical service and their price was a lot more reasonable than what the dealership would have charged. I will bring my car back if I need other work done.Services: Transmission, Auto engine diagnostic

The dealer couldn't find the problem they wanted to sell me something for $3500, thanks to my parents, I always want a second opinion. Went to this AAMCO in Glendale, and they found the problem. Ended up paying only $500. They are the real deal.

Very friendly, not cheap compared to others but as Robert says "I work only with the correct and exact part I need; I search for the exact same one and get it delivered. I don t go for second-hand parts or cheap parts which are going to break probably fast"". They always did a great job on our cars though and gave us great tips concerning bodywork.edit 2021: over the years, I have been a faithful customer too. The pandemic situation did not help them, and I have needed their help a couple of times for different reasons. The diagnostic of repair is free and that is a good thing.Their price went up considerably and the time needed to fix a car was really long due to parts ordering and fewer workers on site which forced me to rent a car. My car is my working tool.nevertheless, after paying a good amount for oil change, battery and electrical issues, and having a gas problem, I was forced to go to another dealer because they could not fix my gas issue.I still recommend AAMCO for special issues like the transmission. They did amazing work.Update: the transmission work seems not to be as good as it was supposed. I have a lot of problems with the transmission now. I brought it to a mechanic which confirmed that was the transmission. I went to Robert with my guarantee and told him about my problem. He looked at it and did not find anything wrong with the transmission. He told me to come again to him when it happens again. The problem is that it happens here and there when I am on the freeway or when I am at a stop. I can't predict when it happens and usually, I am far from his place. So, I kind of consider that he does not want to really look at it deeper and hope that the guarantee runs out.It happens again to the point I could not drive faster than 60 on the freeway and the engine light went on showing the transmission is damaged.I brought the car to Robert with the guarantee, and he told me that it ran out. After paying 5000 $ for a refurbished transmission (which was supposed to be new) I kind of lost it a little especially since I could not drive the car as much during the pandemic. He tried hard to see what he could do and finally managed after three weeks to get it fully fixed at no cost. Understanding that I just got the car back on 10/19/22 I will be now waiting a bit before to shout victory and will let you know by updating this review in a few months.First time in my life that one of my cars, in 5 years, gets 3 transmissions.I pulled back up my rating to 4 stars again because mistakes or bad luck can happen, and Robert did try hard to fix it for me.Services: Transmission, Electrical, Auto engine diagnostic, Battery, Oil change

The Mazda dealership informed me that I would need front end tie rod replacement that would cost about $647. I wanted to get a second opinion so I called AAMCO and spoke to a mechanic who gave me a quote & told me to bring it by. When I arrived, Robert said he was going to check my car for free to make sure that the recommended maintenance was still needed. He asked me questions about the driving performance of the car & told me that he would call me back with his findings. About an hour later he called me and informed me that the recommended maintenance was not required for my vehicle at this time. In fact, that the outer tie rods looked good. I really appreciate his honesty and his integrity!! That's really hard to find!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Simply amazing! 10/10 would recommend. I came to LA from Monterey and when we pulled into the city, my brakes started grinding. Luckily, I stayed at a motel just across the street from AAMCO. I walked in without calling at 8am on a Saturday and my car was fixed by noon. Enrique was so helpful and they stayed late on a Saturday to make sure my car was safe and ready for my trip in LA and the trip back home. If you re in the area with car troubles, definitely hit these guys up!Service: Brakes

Coming to AAMCO was one of the best decisions I ve made. Robert, the manager, was honest and fair. He kept me in the loop at all times and was very professional. My car was done in a short time and when I got it back, everything ran great! I am extremely pleased with this place and I will be bringing my car back here, if something happens to it again. I recommend that if you want good service at a fair price, go see Robert!

I live in the neighborhood, and Enrique and his crew have provided great service over the years. Having worked with them, I would continue to bring my vehicles to them if I moved elsewhere. It can be incredibly hard to find trustworthy mechanics, and you can have confidence that these guys will do right by you. They are friendly, knowledgable, and fair. Excellent service!Service: Auto engine diagnostic

With my limited car knowledge, I am always concerned I will be taken advantage of when I go somewhere new. Robert and especially Enrique provided the best experience I have ever had at a car care. The free inspection was quickly completed in a couple hours, Robert called with a good explanation of the issues and explained I would have to go to a muffler shop instead. When I went to pick up my car Enrique sketched out the components and carefully explained everything without being condescending. He had a place he recommended I go and even called them for me. I still need to (& will) go back to AAMCO for other issues, but Enrique wanted me to figure the first out before giving me an unreliable quote for the others. The customer service was like that of a family run business.

Robert and staff are great. Any time i have any issues with my Chrysler 200 he immediately figures out what's wrong and fixes it. He also works with our extended warranty plan without any issues. Would give more stars if I could because you guys are better than the actual Chrysler dealership mechanics!!!

Robert and Enrique are awesome. I just picked up my second vehicle that AAMCO performed transmission work on. My first vehicle was a 2012 Chevy Silverado in which a new transmission was put in...no issues and performs great. My second vehicle is a 2003 Honda Accord in which they rebuilt the transmission and all seems to be running smoothly....just picked it up today. Price on both were absolutely reasonable and the warranties give me comfort should anything go wrong. I give them 5 stars from the above and beyond customer service to the technicians. Keep rocking guys and thank you so much.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. I called AAMCO on Colorado Blvd. the day that my A/C stopped working (this heat is no joke). I had first called 2 other places that were recommended to me and those calls didn't go well and really I just didn't feel right. I was desperate so I began to google--I then found AAMCO on google and saw it had great reviews, so I gave it a shot. Enrique answered my call and when I asked if they worked on A/C he let me know they did and proceeded to ask me questions about my issue with the A/C--none of the other shops did that. He not only was quick to ask questions to see what my issue was but assured me they would look into it and do anything they could to help me. This was HUGE for me. I felt at ease and confident that they would do all that they said they could. I dropped of my vehicle and sure enough they found the issue and called me to let me know what the issue was. He explained all the information so well so that I would understand (I know know nothing about cars) and let me make the decision as to what I wanted done. Of course I had him do the job. Not only did he do all that, but my car had another issue that they went ahead and took care of for no extra charge (with my approval of course). I was shocked and completely amazed, and truly blessed. I have never experienced this before with any mechanic. Finding a trustworthy mechanic or automotive shop is not easy, but I found the right place with the right people. From now on this is the place I will take my vehicles for all work needed. They are trustworthy, work hard, do great work, and have great customer service. I have also referred people to this location and to Enrique. AAMCO and their team are a true treasure in our city of Glendale. Get your vehicles in!

Waited a long time for the tech to do a quick drive put my vehicle on a scanner no engine report on the scan then on the drive home transmission went out. The place has the same reputation that it did in the late 80's and 90's. Sad but true. I'm never going there again unless its for an oil change

I tried out AAMCO a little over a year ago for an old truck, and they completed a free estimate for me. The problems were more than I could handle at the time, so I sat on them. Yesterday, I took it back and they did a full check again for free (which they didn't need to do, but was much appreciated). I'm taking the time to do this review because I received the call later that day that essentially the same things were needed for roughly the same price, but he then told me he didn't feel comfortable doing it because he noticed the transmission (about a $2800 fix) was soon to come on a 2003 Ford Ranger with 200,000 miles. I was fully ready and committed to doing the work on my car, but his honesty saved me from an already expensive fix and a later more expensive fix on a truck not worth that value. I'm still newer to this area and it took me a long time to find a truly honest mechanic back in Michigan. I know I wasn't able to get my truck resolved in this instance, but I truly appreciate the honesty provided that saved me a tremendous amount of money and hassle. So, short-term they didn't make money; but long-term they have my business which will make them much more and I will be much happier with the outcome. Thank you for the honesty!A quick aside: In my line of work (medical field), I know people get upset if the outcome is not always as they hoped. Understandable. I would just encourage people to read the reviews and determine if those leaving both positive and negative comments are worth the star rating they provide. I read 2 negative reviews before going here, and both did not deter me because their description sounded like the mechanics gave their best possible assessment of the situation, and possibly got it wrong. It happens. But neither sounded like there was malicious intent. I have no association with AAMCO other than living in the same city, but it bothers me when people go the full 1-star for something that was just a mechanics opinion of an assessment (the same as a 5-star that sounds like the owner's mother wrote it). Like in my professional world, I just look for people who seem qualified and are showing good effort. I think the gentleman I worked with here did both in my case.
