What a disappointment. I had been having issues with the idling with my car, sometimes completely dying. After filling up with gas on a Saturday, my car wouldn't start at all so I called this auto shop and asked if I could have it towed there to have it looked at and he said I could. When I got there, right off the bat, the guy who was working at the front was so unfriendly and unpleasant. He didn't even really care to hear the issues I was having with the car but since I just wanted my car fixed, I left and waited to hear from them. It wasn't long and this is what the clown told me... he checked the fluids and the oil is low but the car is fine and the fluid levels are fine. The fluids are fine?! What a joke! I told him it sounds like he doesn't want to work on my car. When I went to pick it up, he handed me my keys with no charge because well, the fluids were fine so nothing to worry about. What a shame they keep this idiot employed knowing how he treats customers.

I had been taking my car here for oil changes for about a year now and was happy with the price and service I received as well for additional fixes. So much so that I recommended my friends and family to this shop, but unfortunately after an unexpected (unrelated) repair was needed in my girlfriend s car, she had it taken to her uncle s shop, and they informed us that whoever had done her oil change (Thanh s Auto Services) had likely used recycled oil, AND oil was leaking from her car. Keep in mind, she had gotten that oil change no more than three months prior. So for that reason, we unfortunately will be looking somewhere else for auto repair services.Edit to respond to Stewart:The car was my girlfriend s and I can only describe what was told to us from her uncle s mechanic, and what we in turn had to pay for as a result. I would not assume the quality of oil would have caused a leakage. Thank you for the response nonetheless.

I've been coming here for years, even after I moved 20 minutes further away. They seem to be honest and frequently don't charge for inspections or don't recommend services that aren't needed.

Let me know preface this by saying I've been coming here for roughly 5 years and I was always able to tolerate the attitude coming from the guy working the front desk but I won't be coming back after today. This guy always acts like someone is forcing him to work there and usually his bad attitude is tolerable but today he was in an awful mood and decides to talk down to me like I'm an idiot. Bro it's not my fault you are busy and there's no parking. All I did was ask if he accommodate me and he went off on me like I was a crazy idiot. I would've waited the 90 mins for an oil change but apparently it's a crime to show up here when it's busy. The guys who do the actual work are awesome and they are always super nice and respectful but the guy working the front is the worst.

They re very quick, professional, and let me know if I needed any replacements for any work done on my car. Price is reasonable as well! Definitely recommend and will come again.

Truly an honest mechanic. Finally tumor free and able to drive, I brought in my Lexus ES 350 after it sat for a long, long time. I was afraid of being taken advantage of, as I had experienced with previous mechanics with this exact car, but the report was incredibly honest with my car being in great shape for the time it sat! The only major issue was a dead battery, which they made sure I knew was still under warranty and could be replaced for free by AAA, they even let AAA come to their parking lot. Thank you Thanh auto repair for your honest work!All that said, if you plan on coming, know these guys are popular and busy! The parking lot is full and the waiting room was always busy. The only complaint of service is that they did not put air in the tires of my car, which I know is standard at other mechanics, but I'm getting nit-picky, as otherwise service was great!

Thanh Auto is honest and so hardworking. They rendered two services for me - 1) Transmission replacement; and 2) Helped me when my car was lagging while driving slowly when the engine check light was illuminated.As it pertains to the transmission replacement, I was processing a claim form for refund from my the car dealer. They were so nice (Shoutout to Stewart!) in not only adding the diagnostic code to my invoice when it was requested by the dealer, but also emailing me a copy of the invoice.They are super honest workers and NICE.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair

Be there early as there is a line when they open, that l havent seen the likes of elsewhere. They draw a crowd for a reason, good prices and honest, excellent service. They replaced my brake pads, giving me an honest percentage of wear and time remaining.

Thanh's used to be my go-to for auto repairs and I highly recommended them to family and friends, until recently. I came in for some issues with my power steering system, three years after I got it replaced by them, and bumping noises near on the front driver side. Got there at 11am and they didn't look at my car until 4pm. I explicitly asked the front desk guy to check the struts, even asked him if I needed to write a note to have it checked and he said no, and when I got a call back they said they hadn't checked it because it wasn't requested...what the heck! So I had to wait another hour or so and they concluded that I would have to replace my entire power steering system again, both struts, and control arm for $2000. Since it was the end of the day they told me to call them back the week after the holidays and let them know when I'm coming in for repairs. Fast forward to the week after holidays, I called them two different days, right when they opened, and they said they were too busy to take my car in. At that point, I don't think they wanted to deal with my car so I went elsewhere to get a second opinion. H & J Auto checked my car and said I only needed to replace o-ring in the power steering system since the system was brand new and both struts, totaling $680. $680 vs $2000!!!! H & J was very friendly, professional, and affordable. I won't be returning to Thanh's and would not recommend it.

They were supposed to fix my front left and front right lower ball joint and ended up making a painfully squeaking sound and I can only hope its fixed but they said its "normal". Now my camry sounds terrible.

Brought my car in for what I thought was low fuel pressure ended up being a bad aftermarket fuel gauge lol they gave me a valve adjustment and corrected my timing she runs great now totally recommended these are awesome people will be coming back for any future problems

Trustworthy shop, fair prices. They won't scam you to buy unnecessary service that your car doesn't need like other places. You can entrust them with all the services they offer.Honesty is an extremely rare characteristic in this field. I'm happy to find a place like this.

Than auto is the most honest best price you will find in Garden Grove or county.I have been a faithful customer for 25 years and always get in and out satisfied. Than Auto is a very rare find. I feel very lucky to have found technicians who get the job done right and efficiently.They have the best technicians who are very well educated on servicing your needs. If I could give zero stars I would. I went in get my timebelt in my car replaced. They charged me $840 for the timebelt and THEY INSTALLED IT INCORRECTLY. The water hose that goes from radiator to engine was destroyed. Which then DESTROYED my radiator. They denied ruining my car and made me pay to get it fixed. I felt hopeless and paid another $600 for a new radiator, water pump, and water hose. They installed the hoses incorrectly AGAIN and now my ENGINE IS DESTROYED. They are denying fault of destroying my car. They told me now I have to add fluid to my radiator every single morning and not drive a long distance. They told me that if I want it fixed I would have to pay another $2,300 to fix something they RUINED. They were paid $1,400+ TO DESTROY MY CAR!!! These people are LIARS, money hungry, evil, and awful people. They completely destroyed my car and are trying to make me pay even more for it!!!! This place is the bomb! Had to have my SUV towed there, and they put it into the shop immediately. They evaluated it and quoted me $370 for the part and labor. It was repaired the next day and ready by 3:00pm. I also had to pay for an alignment which was $60. They're fast, efficient, honest and friendly. I've found MY mechanic, whom I'll keep bringing my cars to! -An Extremely Satisfied customer!!

Went in for an oil change and fifteen minutes was done! For under 35$ & they found the fuse to my lighter! Not even a Nissan dealership could find the fuse it's been been months, now, I can charge my phone again,they didn't even charge me.greatservice ,hospitable,and very attentive..will be a regular customer..five stars and they give you snacks while you wait, great hospitality, clean bathrooms,which was a shock, but this place is like the roadside hole in the wall that have better food than anyone this place has great service and great people and HONEST..you don't see that anywhere like I e ever!! Go here ,you won't be sorry Trust me,,...,!

I have only reviewed companies a handful of times, but I was so satisfied, I just had to write today. We just moved back to the area, and we have not found the mechanic we wanted to come back to until now. We usually have our repairs/services performed at dealerships, but given their over inflated prices, poor turn around times, and broken promises I just couldn't do it anymore. Thanh Auto Services has fair pricing for quality work. The repairs they recommended were spot on, and I had over $1000 of work completed in 6 hours. This shop is clean too. I am pretty critical of shops given that I have managed multi-million dollar operations and even a repair facility. I read reviews, just like you might be who are reading this. And decided to take my vehicle here. Give these guys a shot, don't be cheep and get your buddy who has a few tools to help you out, these guys will take care of your vehicle. Thanks guys, you did great!

If I could give this place a 0 star I would. Came in with my Mustang with a stripped bolt on the license plate and asked if they could help me remove it. Without even coming to my car to check it out he tells me it's gonna be $40. I say to take the bolts off of my license plate? he says yes correct $40 and I said I'm not paying $40 for you to take a screw off my car??? I went next door to the auto body hot rod shop and the guy was so helpful. He took off the bolt in 30 seconds and didnt even charge me. He couldn't believe that they didn't even come to check out my car. this service is ridiculous do not recommend! They will overcharge you if they think they can get away with it. I then called back and they said "good for you glad he did it, if you dont wana pay for our services have a great day" and ended the call.

Great service, fast and efficient. Didn't try to overcharge me. Went in for MAF issues, they checked all my hoses and charged me 80 for a ECM reset.

I have been here twice, and I have never gotten my car fixed. Which says a lot, because they always told me that I didn't need anything, or I could do it somewhere else (or by myself) for cheaper. That level of honesty (especially to a woman) is rare and always makes me think of them when I'm visiting family in OC.This time I heard a weird rattle in my car, and asked them to check it. They said it was okay, and not to worry. Brakes were at 50%, and could last for a few more months, they told me.I offered to pay for checking my car, and they declined. I am really impressed by their professionalism and what is essentially kindness in the way they deal with customers. Thanks Thanh Auto! I wish I lived closer!

Came here to confirm the codes of why engine light was on. Waited one hour but got up and asked how long it will take. Mechanic came out right away and checked. Came back confirmed with 3 codes. The guy at the front desk didn't get his name told me they could not fix it and to go to the dealership. Didn't charge me . Seemed like a nice friendly individual. Will be back when needed.

Brought my lexus for a grinding noise. They ended up keeping 3 out of 4 of my clips for the vanity cover. I'm adding the extra star bc of the free diagnostic.

These guys are good, HONEST, guys. I used Yelp to get a quote from them. They responded fast, and even gave their input on what the problem was after I wrote out the issues. It was my starter. They had the best price hands down--and got my car going.My family have taken our cars with guesses on big issues. THEY tell us, its nothing serious and do a smaller fix. Honest.

Been bringing my cars to Stewart for over 20 years, always satisfied with the service and level of quality of work, I feel I'm charge very good price for the work I get done in my cars and haven't returned to deal with anything they fixed. Very nice reliable mechanic!!!

Good alternative to dealers. Own Lexus suv vehicle. Had two oil changes, brake fluid exchange, and now a transmission fluid replacement.Price is only 20$ for oil change for labor when I bring my own oem filter and engine oil (Costco). Total price out the door including what I spent on the parts is less than half of what dealer charges. The price point applies to every single service performed so far.Forgot how much brake fluid exchange was, if memory serves was also about 100$. Transmission fluid replacement was only 100$ including OEM fluids (the owner states for transmission replacements the shops uses OEM fluids only I watched and confirmed). Does appear to be significant wait time if does not show up early so would advise going near opening time.Waiting room is no frill and difficult for social distancing during the Covid 19 epidemic. For significant repairs would advise arranging alternative transportation for waiting somewhere else to maximize efficiency and reduce boredom.Thinh appears to be the main person of contact to English speaking customers. After multiple interactions with him appears to be knowledgeable and forthcoming about any needed repairs. Also appears willing to explain repair procedures as I like to understand why things are done a certain way.Overall price largely half of what dealers charge, technically competent would recommend highly.
