Outstanding service, dependable and knowledgeable. I recently brought both my wife's and my vehicle to the shop and was highly impressed. One of the best, if not the best auto repair experiences I've ever had. Darrel was fast, friendly, efficient and honest. He saved me a lot of money and headaches by diagnosing my car and professional and accurate manner. I now have a new place to take my vehicle and recommend to others.

Our first service: great communication from start to finish. I was struck by the honest, straightforward nature of the owner.Our second service was more of the same: honest, straightforward, and conscientious. To top it off, they don't seem to be focused mainly on gouging the customer -- the cost, relative to dealer cost, was very reasonable.I have continued to receive only top-notch service from The Small Car Shop in subsequent visits. I was especially impressed, with a recent transmission issue, with their willingness to spend quite a bit of time with me discussing the issue and ensuring I understood clearly what my options were.Update: can't recommend this shop highly enough. Some people make the world a better place -- it will be a loss to Fresno and the surrounding communities if the owner ever decides to retire.Service: Steering & suspension repair

During our last oil change Daryl noticed the bushings were going out on our Jeep. It was going to be a costly repair so we put it off for a few weeks. Upon repair day, Daryl took his time and was thorough in the service he provided. We were so grateful that the repairs came in under the quoted amount. Daryl and his Small Car Shop never fail to disappoint. Word of mouth is the best form of advertisement. After all, how much do we rely on "reviews" these days when deciding to make a purchase or visit a business? I'm so happy with this shop! Darrel is SO nice and helpful. He fixed my car, has super fair prices, and does great work. I really appreciate the honesty. He even arranged for me to get a ride back to work after I dropped my car off, and he took my car to get smogged so I could get the certificate turned in on time. Darryl is awesome. I will not go to any other car shop. He is very honest and will tell you full details of any issues with your car. This shop has definitely been reliable for me, my sister and my dad. We absolutely love him. I highly recommend anyone to go here. You will not be disappointed.

Darrell and his team are AMAZING. I had an issue for literally YEARS with a sound on my car. No other shops could figure out the problem, even the actual honda dealer themselves could not figure out the problem. After researching tons of shops I came across The Small Car Shop and I am so thankful I did! Darrell took everything serious from the very first moment I spoke with him. He treated me with respect, was honest, and his price was absolutely fair and truthful. He literally is an honest man who clearly has values as a person and business owner. The best part is my car is perfect now. I have had it back for months now and it continues to run perfectly. He found the problem and fixed it, the turn around time was about three days and that's only because he had to order a part otherwise it would've been the next day. These guys do it the right way! New services offered include ceramic paint preservation and headlight restoration. Their general vehicle service plan is very thorough and reasonably priced. No fraud at this shop.

My family is quite pleased with this company. We have come to trust and love this shop. The owner is a Christian. He is highly competent, honest, professional, and diligent. His mechanics also are skilled, honest, and respectful. They always do an honest job and are always ready to help even in some small problems, sometimes without even charging a fee. They always deliver a prompt and efficient service. Our family and the people that we know have been their loyal customers for decades. In our case, it is for over 15 years now. The shop is clean and well maintained. God bless them!

Darrell and his team gave us excellent service and was able to find out why the car was not preforming to it's best ability. I have to say every time I take my car in I am met and greeted in a friendly professional manner. Yesterday I got my car fixed there.Darrel was very friendly and helpful. I took my car in later than I was supposed to and he still took my car in late and was very kind about it. They started on my car around 11:30am and by 2:14pm I was already down the street driving in my car. Price was very fair and my car sounded and drove great. Will definitely recommend.

I've been going to Darrel for more than 20 years and he's serviced three of my vehicles during that time (we keep them for many years until it no longer makes financial sense to keep them). A couple things I appreciate about Small Car Shop are: 1) Darrel will let me know what my car needs without pushing me any direction and, 2) he'll let me know when a specific repair can wait. It's important to form a good relationship with your auto mechanic and Darrel is the best one I've had. I now have a new car which doesn't require as many shop visits in this early stage of its life, but I'll be taking it to Small Car Shop when it's time.

I have taken my truck to The Small Car Shop a few times for different repairs and services. Each time I was greeted with a warm smile by the owner who asked how I was then asked about my visit. Most of the time he was able to look at it right away and diagnose the problem and give me an cost and time it would take to complete the repairs. Darrel and his crew have always completed the repairs in a timely manor and they were done right, I never had to take it back and do the job over.

I have used the Small Car Shop for many years. I have always found the service staff to be honest, to do work at a reasonable cost, and help me with any questions about my car. The staff are very courteous and helpfuland make my experience in getting car repairs and service accomplished very efficiently. I am very grateful for their professionalism.

We've been bringing our cars here for years. He's worked on everything -even if it wasn't small. His prices are fair and if he can save you money he will. He will only install what's best for your car- not always the cheapest up front but best in the long run. We've had others offer to do the job for less - but they use cheaper parts that don't last. Why pay twice? Just pay Daryl once- He'll get it done.

My wife and I have been getting our car's serviced at The Small Car Shop in Fresno, Ca. for over 30 yrs,, now. We have learned that Darrel and his wife Cindy are two of the hardest working people you will ever know. They are also so very HONEST about everything they do in servicing your car. The staff at The Small Car Shop follows the same high standards that Darrel and his wife Cindy have set fourth in the business. Darrel is honest and very good at his job i wish I would've gone to him sooner fair price for great work too many people confuse a cheap mechanic with a good one. it is such a relief to know that anytime one of our vehicles needs to be serviced or is taken in for a problem we can trust what Daryl suggest and the work he & his great crew do will be done properly. Two weeks ago we purchased a used vehicle and he checked it out for us. He fixed what needed to be done and now I can rest at ease. Never worried that something will be added on that is not beneficial for us.

Was least helpful over the phone. I just asked how much a specific part and labor was going to be. I expected (from other reviews) that "The Small Car Shop" was going to be fair with their words and prices. This was the most expensive of all other 6 places I called and the most arrogant and rude. I would not trust taking my car here; just another place after your money and potentially gives sneaky charges.
