Avoid Costco for tire service at all costs. Listen to the advice of your friends, trusted mechanics, and reviews steer clear of Costco when it comes to tires.Here's why:Mishandled my request: Despite clearly specifying on the work order to dispose of my worn tires, the staff mistakenly discarded my perfectly good tires with thousands of miles of tread left. I am further concerned by the knowledge of the kids working here-- if they cannot tell a bare tire from a good one, how can they do quality work?Lack of accountability: Rather than owning up to their mistake, the staff refused to apologize or acknowledge the error, leaving me feeling dismissed and frustrated.Poor execution: Not only did they mishandle the work order, they also failed to complete the job on time. My appointment, scheduled for completion at 12:15 PM, wasn't finished until 1:00 PM, and the work was done incorrectly.Time wasted: Despite arriving early for my appointment, I was still forced to wait in line for 30 minutes before because there is no way to check in. Even with an appointment, expect significant delays.When you invest in a membership, you expect a certain level of service and accountability. Costco failed to meet these expectations, leaving me disappointed and with no resolution to the issues. Regrettably, I've had to cancel my Costco membership due to this subpar service experience. It's disheartening to miss out on the benefits of Costco, but I refuse to compromise on quality when it comes to paid services like this.

I called before I visit. I told them my Tesla has a tire with low pressure. They told me come and they ll take a look. Upon arrival, the front desk told me they cannot fix Tesla tires cause will damage the tool?! They still inspected my car and found a screw without a picture... Of course they didn t fix it. 3 hours later they called me to pickup. I stand in front of their shop for like 15min nobody come and hand over my key what a chaotic place and management sucks. Stay away from this place!!!

Tuesday 8:55am 8/2/21, I am the 1st customer walked in. No greeting for the service person. I had apt for upcoming Friday and wanted to get it done today. After letting the serviceman know the background, he then tells me, I can not change my appointment and walk-in anytime, due to my Sprinter van requirement, only specific bay can handle the size and weight of the vehicle. And put on on 1st wait list. Well it s 9:50am now, There are 3 cars on 5 bays. No car came out in 50 minutes. Finally witnessed the first car (Siena) in at 9:05am, out by 10:16am. Over 71 minutes.It s clear to me these crews were taking their time to work. I am taking my van back and heading to Americastire instead.

Dec 23, 2022. First time ever getting my car tires changed at Costco. The WORST experience ever. The ordering tires and setting up appointment was HORRIBLE and RIDICULOUS but thought might be because of the holiday season travel and staffing issues. But, the actual installation was HORRENDOUS, they actually scratched the $3000 rims, left grease all over the RIMS and actually MESSED up the bolt of a wheel that couldn't be installed. UNBELIEVABLE! Never have I ever experienced anything like this, I wasn't even there to save the $150 as my new tires already cost me $1250 even after the discount. If I had a way to know this horrible experience through any other member reviews, I would have never gone to Costco Tire Center for changing the tires. Looks like there is no way for me to prove that they actually messed up or for anyone to write reviews about the tire center on Costco website. Now, I have to spend over $1000 now to fix the mess up Costco tire center employee has left on my BMW X6 wheels. So ridiculous! Please STAY away if you have expensive wheels and go to the dealer!Update 01/20:Just found that the staggered wheels for my X6 (Wider on the back than the front) have been mixed up by Costco after installing the tires. FH ! Going to the dealer to get them removed and reinstalled correctly.

It s negative 1000000 starts rating - Very very important message for your safety DO NOT BUY TIREs in COSTCO .. COSTCO sell tires that will be discontinued and if they need to replace the tire that are on warranty.. it takes a while and you may be in trouble tire center do not update the notes properly which creates a total mess STAY AWAY buying tires from COSTCO . My humble advise

Bought three set of tires for three cars at different time in past years at Costco Tire Center in Fremont. Good prices, quality products, good services sometimes. I noticed one common issue that tire pressure was not set correctly for the three cars I have. Car#1: factory, 35psi; Costco 32psi. Car#2: factory, 32psi; Costco, 55psi. Car#3, factory, 32psi; Costco, 37psi. Lesson learned: always check and adjust tire pressure after replacing your tires at Costco Tire Center in Fremont.

Buying tires at Fremont Costco? Save your frustration and buy them somewhere else.When the business is so good, some of these Costco tire department employees start to have bad attitude toward customer services. They do not need your business. I wish I could deduct part of my premium membership charges, not to include tires. Wake up and learn how to treat customers better.

My experience at costco tire center was the worst service i ever had.realy unprofessional.i showed up to my appointment on time and waited for hours , i asked them whats taking so long and they said we have two more tires to put on , but i went around to take a peak and my car hadnt been touched it was all lies and realy disappointing wont be coming back again

Just got four Bridgestone tires installed. Totally painless and installed within the 1 to 1.5 hrs promised. I haven't a clue what the other reviewers are whining about. My only guess is they're expecting these guys to drop everything to give these freeloaders a free rotation or the complaint is they have to wait a few days for an appointment. Ordered tires online, received $150 off, made online appointment, tires were received by my tire center within a week so I called to see if I could get an earlier appointment. Ok I was put on hold for 10mins but ended up with my tires installed after ordering in about a week. I think most of the complainers are from silicon valley and aren't familiar with a busy schedule and people that actually work hard. Thanks to everyone that helped me today.

They are good but liason or all steps are not aware about their activities ..to get a schedule is tough ..walk in suggested to go by 7 am by a manager but they open at 9 am so much waiting out side in cool too hard . Suggested to stand in queues in one door but they were operating in another door ..so became 2nd man ..wondering a manager do not know when his associates come ! Associates comes @ 7am but vehicles side receives queues customers at 9am ..walk in and schedules are directly receives at vehicles service door .

We bought the tires from that store and one tire has low pressure. Since warranty included, we tried to get the appointment but only walk in allowed. Everyday only 5 first walk in can get the service. I need to line up very early 7 AM Feb 10 at 45F. Waiting outside for 2 hrs. I asked one staff if I can use restroom but that guy said no.Very frustrated and will not use its service next time.The worst is waiting time for repair. It will be the whole day and I cannot use my car.I understand now how they manipulated not to give service for leaking tire.

Would like to give my special thanks to Andy H of Fremont Costco tire center for his dedication and diligence on his tire rotation work for 2012 Toyota Highlander. The tire pressure sensor light has been on for almost two years. The local Toyota dealer told me the sensor has to be replaced ( > $300). In the past two years I have sent this car to the same Costco tire center for tire rotation for three times. However, nobody found and fixed this issue until today when Andy worked on my car. The light is on because the tire pressure of my spare tire is low!

The guys at the check in desk are rude, unfriendly and SLOW!! Reason for 3 stars and not 1 star is the actual tire service is very good. Solution to the front desk problem is easy, make a separate line for people who already have an appointment!!!!

I went to buy a battery for my Mazda 2012 which carries an Interstate 96R battery. The associate said that they have 2 on stock in the system but was lazy to find and recommended me to go the another store in Hayward. looks like COSTCO is not committed for costumer but for staffs's satisfaction.

I will never again purchase tires from Costco Fremont. Just like the reviews below they treat you as if your lucky to be allowed to purchase from them. I seen the way they treated multiple individuals that were in the line in front of me as if they were second class people. I would liken my experience as if I was part of a Cattle call. They let you know they can only service 10 people if you re not lucky enough to get in then that s your problem. That is what The Man stated working the front desk.The timeframe to get your tires put on was 9 AM to 8:30 PM worse than any other company I ve ever heard of. Even Comcast could tell you a two hour window.Please in the future go to a local shop and give them business. This store does not care about you nor do they care about service.

Want to give special thanks to Dennis at the Tire Center for his excellent work installing new tires for my parent's car yesterday (Oct 24). We made the appointment a week before, and everything went smoothly. Would recommend!

I prepaid not in stock tires days before and was told if I show up early when those tires come in I can get them installed as a walk-in. My appointment is 3 and I showed up early at 8am trying to be the 1st walk-in. Soon after 30 min of wait, Costco soft opened at 8:30 and puts a #1 cap on top of my car. I stood next to my car for another 20min but no one came even all their 5 mechanics were chatting on floor with no car inside the shop. I returned inside to the tire desk and asked the stuff again about the walk-in possibility, the name JR on his name tag answered without any patient, pointed his finger at my face and told me to get back behind the plexiglass. I nicely asked if he can hear me out what walk-in possibility was and he said are U done talking? We need to help the appointments and yours is at 3! Please step aside and We ll call U At that moment from 8:30 to 8:55am, not any 9am appointment showed up and no helpful information were given. I don t know either should wait or leave but just looking at the empty shop with workers joking around.Costco has been a very important shopping source in our life and carries varieties with great prices, but they shouldn t allowed their employees having this privilege and treated low to customers. For the 1st time from Costco, this personal experience I had today was very disappointing, I was afraid to ask for help! This JR tire shop repairman treated customer withbad personal attitude. I will rethink again if I ll return for their tires!

Wanna say thank you to a stuff that helped me inflate my tire on a morning. They do have self service but I was concerned that my tire may have some other issues and I asked a stuff to help me check. He was pretty patient, answering all my questions. He inflated my tire first but also checked it really quick. I was in a hurry and without him helping me, I might be late for my morning meeting. Thank you so much! updated:I was highly satisfied before but I realize the experience could be different depends on when you visit. Last time, it was the early morning when it is not too busy.This time, I have an appointment at 6pm but I have to wait for check in as there was a customer buying tires before me and it took so long. I don t understand why I still need to check in and give the person the information I already gave when I signed for the appt online. Then, I also need to wait to get the tire checked. ( I could understand this waiting time but not waiting for checkin)The service is great, nothing to complain. When they get to work on my car, it didn t take that long.With all these being said, I feel walk-in in an early morning might even better than an appointment in the afternoon.

One star is not my choice at this time!!!! I would give no star at all. After spent almost $1000/4 tires in Fremont tire center for my 2017 Ram 1500, i wished I never been there.When I picked up the car, the associate REX came over and pointed that one tire sensor could not be installed due to the broken stem. My question was that who broke that stem then, i can't drive the car away after I paid$1000 with the tire pressure alerts light on, what the worst from REX was that he said I brought in a broken stem originally! HE determined that I brought in the car with leakage problem in the first place!!! He made me very upset when he forced me to take his judgment. In fact I never had leakage at all, all 4 sensors were installed a year ago by American Tire!!!never had issues. This time Costco people touched and removed the stem then broken, REX demanded me go back to American Tire to replace the stem, and also was rudely to ask me to file a claim to Costco for the stem broken issue, then walked away saying bring me a claim form.Fortunately the manager James came to meet me and told me the stem is bad and they just did not have stock and only cost about $2.5 each, that message comforted me but also frustrated me how the associate REX sending me away to American Tire and Filing a claim to against Costco for a $2.5 unit part? Especially I spent over $1000 for tires but left me troubled tire sensor lights on after the job is done? There is no basic service and responsibility but getting rid of the customer even with incomplete job.Worse of all, the entire tire center service in Fremont is horrible, they are worsen than DMV, please go there and try!!!! And please prove me wrong. The people come to tire center is not for social support but looking for quality goods, respect and services. Costco brand should be not treating customer without basic service concepts.I definitely look forward to their improvement.

I had flat tire; my tires were from Costco. It was already 7pm; generally the Costco tire centers don t take cars after 7pm. I talked to Jack, he was very sympathetic to my situation, he asked to me if I could reach there by 7:30pm then he could help. I did manage to take my car to Costco tire center fremont by 7:30pm. No one was ready to checkin; then Jack came and checked in my car. He fixed the tire in 30min.I was in hassle for more than 2 hours due to flat tire and Jack made my day. I had awesome experience with Costco tire center Fremont.Thanks a ton Jack!

I walked in at 630pm. Headed straight to the tire center. I told an employee I had a screw in my tire. He acknowledged with "that isn't good", followed by "we are way too busy to fix it today" I asked if I needed an appointment for something like that. He answered by saying "swing by in the morning, we will attend the first 10 people that show up". So with that said I quickly realized that this definitely isn't like any costco I've been to before. Usually costco employees are way more comprehensive. Apparently not here. This is officially the worst tire center I've been too. Costco is a great store and they're tire center is awesome, but I guess this one here is the bad apple for sure. I will slap on my spare and head over to another costco for now.

Worst experience ever! Walk in to get tire change on the waiting list, they promised to call but never call. Already in line to cancel the order, they send me to the other longest line to wait one more time. Highly not recommended for Fremont Costco tire center.

FOR MANUAL CAR OWNERSWent in for a tire rotation and two of them got into the car to pull it into the shop. I had a feeling the guy in the passenger seat was trying to train the guy in the driver's seat how to drive manual with my car. The driver proceeded to stall my car about five times getting it inside. I made sure they knew I was watching after they finished so they would put a competent driver behind the wheel when pulling it back out.I'll definitely make sure they know I'm watching them move my car from here on out.Advice to Costco - DON'T USE CUSTOMER CARS TO TRAIN YOUR EMPLOYEES HOW TO DRIVE MANUAL TRANSMISSION

5 stars for the man who helped me this morning, I believe his name was Luie. I was REALLY hesitant to have tires installed here at Costco Fremont because of 1. The customer service from another guy via phone who was completely rude. Blows my mind how he s even working there, I d fire him on spot if I knew he spoke to customers with such disrespect. And 2. The ratings are so low online that I was going to cancel my order and go to America s Tires (where I always have gone.) so for all those who are not sure how to feel about costco tire center, ask for Luie or the girl that works there (she said she just got back to work after having time off). They re great.

Tire department is too busy, they treat you like a dog. Waited in line for my appointment for 15 minutes to be told my wait would be 60 to 90 minutes since I had this appointment. If no appointment it would be 3.5 to 4 hours wait. I had new tires put on and when I got the tires my tire sensor went out.....now I had to buy a $54. Sensor and wait 60 to 90 minutes. FORGET IT, I will go when they can handle my business. Saving 20 bucks on tires is not worth the headache. Go elsewhere!

Service sucks. I purchased tires from Costco. When I go for rotation, they told me they can not do it because hey can not take down the tires and asked me to dealer shop replacing the nuts. I went to another tire service shop and they made the rotation for me without any problem.

Very rude and impatient reception at Costco tire. I was going to place the order and make an appointment online. Gave the reception my credit card and was told to come back at 8:30 am the next day and wait outside until open. The reception should have provided the information that online appointment requires a purchase, but instead just turned away the customer.

There was a nail in the tire. Though the air was not leaking as a precautionary i thought i would get it fixed at costco tire center pacific commons fremont. They accepted the car to repair flat tire. In the evening got a call saying that those type of tires they dont repair at costco. They removed the nail so the air is completely off from the tire. Its a waste of time and money. you cant leave the work in the middle saying you cant repair. The staff should be aware of what tires they repair and what not. They would have not accepted it in first place.

These guys think they some Michelin star tire center or smthg. If you want to get new tires here in a walkin appointment you got somebody s grandparents waiting for the drop in at 6:30 am when they are supposed to open at 9. This my second time trying to come in for a walk-in and I still can t get appointment after coming in half an hour early. Please take your money elsewhere, it s not worth it.

TIRE ROTATION. If you have installed tires here at Costco , tire rotation and balancing is done for free. Make sure to bring your membership card.No appointments taken (3/2019) for tire rotation, walk in basis. Store opens at 8AM. Be here around 7.50AM to get the work done in under an hour, if not it might take around 1.5h to 3+h depending on number of people ahead of you. Time taken to work on each car is ~30 minutes. They have 5 tracks to work on , ~3-4 cars at a time :) I was number 3 in the queue, and got the car out at 9.30AM.
