Went for a smog check at this place because the other place where I usually get my smog done was closed early in the morning. He failed my car when it passes at other places no problem. He said he noticed the throttle body on my car was supposedly missing a cap and that it had been adjusted or tampered with. He was whispering with another supposed to be mechanic who was sitting in his truck next to his smog shop and saying it s been tampered with. I ve never touched the throttle body. Went to dealership right after to get advice and they told me it s supposed to be like that. Be careful with this guy. Seemed to me like he wants to find anything possible to make a vehicle fail so he can get more money after for a retest. It s hard to argue about this and regret coming here.

Charging $70 for a smog is ridiculous and straight up highway robbery. I recommend you get it smogged somewhere else. The quality isn t going to go down because you paid $30 less. $70 for 15 minutes of work is diabolical.

recently just moved to the fremont area and had to get a smog for my car, but they failed me for a visual inspection. i checked my i/m readiness beforehand so i know i m not failing for that. took my car somewhere else to get smogged and it passed the same day. a shady experience.edit: my car is normal and their reply is meaningless. i ve had this car smogged many times before as is with no issues

Failed me for no reason, wasted my time and took way to long, I was late to work because of him, he was also very disrespectful, I have done smog before, it usually takes 15-30 minutes, this guy took an 1 hour and half, I had work at 12, I went to him at 10:30, and he wasted my time, FAILED ME, EVEN THOUGH MY CAR PASSED everything besides "VISUAL". Think about it, if my car wasn't going to pass VISUAL, WHY WOULD HE EVEN PROCEED TO TEST MY CAR, I know why because he is money hungry, he was quick to fail me and take my money, so many other better smog places, this is the first and last time I go to this palce

Called him for a smog quote, told me one price over the phone but when I got to his shop he charged me more than he quoted.

This place is great! Anyone posting bad reviews is crazy. Pricing is on the wall. Super friendly. Lam was extremely nice and had me in and out smog d in less than 20min. I d give 10 stars if I could!

I called to ask what the cost of getting my car smog here. The person on the phone was rude and would not answer my question. When he finally did he said $70 to smog my car. He didn't ask what kind of car what I needed and talked over me as I was trying to ask questions. Overall I will never go to this shop. and will never refer anyone to this shop. I can't believe how rude he was.

I don t understand why people give this place bad review about pricing when the price is upfront and clearly displayed. I have been taking my vehicles here for years and have always had very good experience. Top notch service, very experienced, and price is fair. I have recommended all my friends and families to City Smog!

This place is a complete rip-off!! They charged me $69 for a smog test while the average price in this area is $30-$40. When I challenged the owner, he had no justification to provide.

Smog inspection $60 about an hour to wait. They can t tell you any info by the phone. Don t waste your time by coming here.

Nice people, came in for a smog check. Smog test price was on the high side though at $60 which includes cert.
