I love supporting local small business. My parents were small business owners, so it's near to my heart. I even understand paying a bit more because small businesses don't get volume discounts from suppliers, and because of other reasons like higher costs for providing benefits for their employees, etc. But today I needed two fuse taps and I was having trouble finding them in stock. AutoZone in Irvington was completely out and O'Reilly near the Hub had lots and lots of empty pegs. I ended up driving all the way to Union City but they only had one in stock. Their price was $8.49. So I stopped by Allied, hoping to avoid having to drive all the way to Hayward or San Jose. They had plenty of them in stock, but their price was $17.69! Are you kidding me? More than twice the price for the same product? Sorry, but economies of scale doesn't explain that. So, you get three stars for what looks to me like price gouging. But feel free to contact me to discuss if you have a rational explanation.EDIT: Hey Bill. Thanks for your response. Not sure I understand how your cost can be higher than their retail, but I'll take your word for it. Anyway, it's already installed, so I can't bring it back. But I do appreciate your taking the time to respond and explain. I'm bumping up to 4 stars. Cheers!

Big auto parts store with plenty of cashiers who are knowledgeable. There are lots of things out on the shelves and plenty of stock in the back. The cashiers are also willing to help.

3 stars because Love this place, great price and parts but When in for a radiator coolant hose one day. Talk to a heavy set guy at the desk. He told me to come back at the end of the day.(I came in,in the morning) Because "he didn't feel like spending 15-30mins looking for a radiator hose."So I when to autozone. To get the hose.I still go to this auto part store. Great parts and price like I said and the rest of the guys and girls are lovely but the heavy set guy i avoid dealing with him.

I have been coming to Allied for over 30 years, the parts are good quality and reasonable price. Bill Bailey is extremely helpful and I really appreciate his help. He is very honest and a wonderful person to work with.

I didn t buy from here just yet. I used to work for Volkswagen, Subaru, Kia and Porsche. I know our parts department always sorted parts from here due to extremely competitive pricing. Call them and have year, make, model , and engine size to have them give you quotes on car goodies.

As usual they saved me! I was given the wrong filter from a different parts store for a customer's Isuzu truck. As many times before I was able to go by here and get the part I needed finish this customer's job. I'm always amazed at how much product they have. I asked them several times. When will they start delivering to my area. I would definitely do a lot more business with them. I want to say thank you to the awesome parts people. For the record this was Friday January 6th 8:15 p.m.

It seems like calling is not a good idea. On hold for 10 minutes then ringed a desk and then put on hold again before I could say anything. Seems like that is not an important part of the customer experience from the people answering phones at least.

Today was a pretty bad experience there's a heavy set guy not sure what his name is worst customer service I've seen in my life played stupid like not to know what I was talking about hopefully he was just having a bad day because the other guys really go the extra mile.

Hands down the best auto parts store out. In 5 years of going here almost daily there has only been 1 time ever that we had to order the part I needed.Most all the staff knows very well how to find what you need and there is an excellent supply of all types of special tools in house. On at least 5 occasions this year alone I was even able to find special tools for heavy duty diesel just on their shelves. I have stopped using rock auto after discovering this store

Came here to pick up some parts, ask the counter guy for a different set and price. He got upset and says. Why you even call �walk right out! Good place to find parts, bad costumer service.

"Defamation of Character", Today I called Allied Auto Parts and spoke with Manuel. I asked if they sold a tire air canister. He said yes. I explained I needed to make sure I has enough to purchase it so he put me on hold and went to check. Manuel said he had one and it was $6.49 and it has an attached hose. I gave him my name and said I would be there soon. He said he would have it up front for me. I texted my brother right away to let him know the price. I purchase lots of parts for both of my vehicles and have always had excellent service. When I got up to the line Ricky attended to me. I let him know what I was there to pick up. He was not able to locate the item up front. He proceeded to the isle to get a can. Brought it up, but I noticed it did not have the attachment Manuel had told me about. This can was $9 with change. I said no, I was told it was $6.49. He went back to ask Manuel and he said no. Then, a tall gentleman said we have not had anything with an attached hose in quite some time. I left. People if you decide to purchase from Allied Auto make sure you ask for a reference number or this may happen to you.I posted pictures of the time I called Allied Auto and the text I sent my brother with the price for the item. They made me feel really bad. As though, I was lying about what I had come in there to purchase. Shame on you, Manuel.

Great knowledge, helpful, good prices, worth the trip. I appreciate the level of professionalism. They are helpful with just the right tone, don't try to oversell me or treat me as brainless. I am given the appropriate prices and guidance, and I am very comfortable with their store, quality and recommendations. I drive past MANY chain options to get here, because they know what they are talking about, and they treat me right. It's worth driving to get to!!

I am the owner of QualityAuto in Fremont. We are AAA TOP shop 3 years in a row. When I have major parts related difficulties, I always turn to Allied. I really appreciate the help from their employees. Very knowledgeable, willing to go extra mile for their customer. THE BEST PARTS HOUSE AROUND IF THEY DON'T HAVE THE PARTS THEY TELL YOU WERE TO CHECK AS WELL AS DEALERSHIP GET THERE PARTS THERE BECAUSE OF SOME PARTS HAVE LIFE TIME WORENTES ON THEM & DEALERSHIPS GET THOSE FROM THEM FOR REAL

Updated ReviewI was just contacted by Luis " Allied GM" and was very pleased to know that he seriously read my review, and took necessary action to credit me back for all the incurred expenses, and was willing to follow up with the store manager to let him know that this type of behavior is not tolerated by the Allied Family and make sure it does not happen to any other customer.That said, I am a real happy camper. Back to 5 star *****Previous reviewI bought a Brake caliper yesterday for my Mazda 3 and I was invoiced the total of $155 ( $56 and $85 for the core +Tax) plz save this inf. for laterThe clerk informed me that it would take 3-4 hrs to get delivered to the Fremont Store. This was ordered around 10:15 amI waited all day to find out that the part will be delivered the 2nd day (today) this is lie #1 .so I asked why did they tell me it only takes 3-4 hrs,, they replied oh no way this part is coming from concord . Lie #2Then I asked the clerk if they will call me to let me know when the part arrives , they acknowledged ; "yes of course" Lie # 3 the part came today and I had to call them to find out that the part was delivered and the guy said oh it just arrived . Lie # 4,Then comes the juicy part. S$$I fixed the brakes , and decided to return the core to collect my $85 they owed me. But that was not what they had in store for mewhen my turn came, I walked up to the register , the clerk took a look @ my invoice and he said, oh the manage wants to talk to you, so I waited for the manager , he grabbed some invoices and started typing up information , the he showed me a scrn that had my part with different price, then he turned to me saying that the guy who helped me yesterday gave me the wrong price and I he wants to split the difference with me.I said this is not fair if I knew that this caliper will cost me $95 dollars and was going to arrive the 2nd day , I would have ordered thru Amazon Prime and saved more money , time and hustle.DO YOU KNOW what this Manger said, Maybe you should order thru Amazon.RegardsSalah

I regularly use Allied Auto for my automotive parts needs because of their inventory, quality of parts and knowledgeable staff. However, on my most recent visit I was especially delighted with the service I received from Jose. He was very pro-active and exhibited exceptional customer skills. I am helping restore an antique farm tractor for LEAF here in Fremont and Jose was extremely helpful in determining the parts and material needed for this endeavor. A fair amount of time on his part was required to compare a variety of parts because there was not "make & model" information available. I greatly appreciated his assistance in this project and I heartily recommend Allied Auto for reasons like this!

Always great service and pricing. You may have to wait a few minutes for an open register but the selection makes it worth it. Usually around the same price as major online suppliers + shipping
