This place is EXCELLENT! I am so satisfied with the service and I am so relieved to finally have found a place to take my car that I know it's safe to trust them with what they say needs to be repaired unlike most other places that try to get over on people. They do quality work, and truly care about their customers! I highly recommend them!

I want to be fair to this business but I feel ripped off. I don't know if its a matter of incompetence, dishonesty or me expecting too much. About a year and a half ago I bought an Audi Q7 with a 3.6L engine. The valve cover was leaking so we wanted the valve cover seal replaced. Removing the valve cover to replace the seals is a lot of work; 5.6 hours of labor is what the job calls for I believe. So its a an expensive job. They charged about $1,200-$1,300 I believe; a lot for sure but a lot less than the dealer charges. Anyway they did the work, I paid for it and life goes on.About a year and a half later, the car starts having problems. After some relatively easy diagnosis I realize that inside the valve cover sits a PCV diaphragm/membrane that with time wears out and causes all kids of problems. The membrane alone is about $30 but the whole valve cover that comes with the membrane/pcv is only about $65. I did not know about this part when I paid about $1300 which was almost all labor costs. A competent and honest mechanic would have called me and said "I don't know if you know about this rubber part but since the part is cheap and this job is expensive and almost all labor, I recommend we change it or change the whole valve cover" I did not get that phone call.I went in to ask about it. The guy at the front was visibly annoyed when I asked him if they change that part when they are already there..he said "we are not that kind of shop" He was busy and asked if he could call me back..needless to say he never did.Again, I don't know if its incompetence (not knowing these cars as well as they say they do), dishonesty (knowing I would be back to pay the expensive labor cost to have them remove the valve cover again) or me expecting too much. I might have given them the benefit of the doubt if they responded appropriately but the fact that they were annoyed when I asked why they did not replace the part on such an expensive job and never called me back tells me all I need to know. I do technical work in another field and I would not have done the job that way.I honestly don't know which of the three reasons above this shop left me with a bad taste but I don't trust them anymore and would not do business with them again.BTW, I did the job myself for $30. It's a PITA but not really difficult.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Tom, being the best hands on boss there is, always makes sure us here at Domco Plumbing are taken care of. We use Folsom Motor Works for all of our trucks/vans and we are never disappointed! Both Tom and Robert have taken such good care of us. They always have time for us and make sure our vehicles are fixed and ready to go in a timely manner. We wouldn't recommend anyone other than Folsom Motor Works!Service: General repairs & maintenance

I was referred to this place by a local tire shop that I trust, the referrer informed me that this is the ONLY place that he ever recommends for vehicle repair needs. I had a great experience, the staff was thorough and kind. It is quite obvious that this establishment is honest, they don't want to gouge you for your money, and they are fair in their pricing. I am so grateful to have found this place as an honest mechanic is difficult to find. Thank you Folsom Motor Works, you now have a customer for life!

Amazing shop, my wife and kids will never take their cars anywhere else ever again. They've come through time and time again for us. Honest, trustworthy, always trying to save us the most money they can. Highly recommend them to all my family and friends all the time! Rich and the crew are the best. We are customers for life.

Very kind staff! They hold great work ethics, remember conversations with clients and provide quality work. This was my first time at this Auto Shop, I loved their personalities and good vibes. It's not hard when having a conversation to know a person's intentions. And their intent was to provide quality, honest, service.

This is hands down the best auto care shop around. Rich and his crew have proved time and time again that they are honest and care about their customers. Many times they could have taken my hard earned dollars and charged me more than needed, but they never have. They go out of the way for their customers and understand that customer care is what makes a great company.

If I have a problem with my cars these these are the people that I go to. It is a really clean honest shop that can help you with many car problems or just an oil change. It is also a Star Smog Station. I have been going here for years these people are very trustworthy. They really care about their customers; giving information, answering questions and getting to the bottom of your problems with your vehicles.Their hours are Monday to Friday 8 to 5.Was having trouble with my van, it was the transmission. 3 days later I'm driving driving what feels like an almost brand new car.Had my 2000 Toyota in for a code check, needs injectors, so I know I will get fast service and fair price from Rich and his crew.Try them out you will not regret it.

We took my son s older Ford truck in a few months ago when it seemed to be having some kind of coolant issues. I don t know if it remedied itself or what, but they couldn t detect a major issue after multiple tests. This truck has a few issues that they could ve pushed us to fix, but they stuck to the main issues at hand. My experience at local dealers is to leave with thousands of dollars worth of repairs to ponder. Bottom line, very impressed with their integrity!

Local family run auto shop that you can trust. Our family has a lot of cars and I can always trust the Ratto family to give me the most trustworthy service and have my best interest in mind. I had a bad experience with the shop across the street and learned my lesson to stick with the family that always gives me the highest level of service since I started coming 10 years ago. Great place to get any car services done. They never try to upsell things I don't really need and if something doesn't need to be done soon, they don't try and get you to do it right away, but make sure you are informed of anything that can become an issue. The couple that own the place are super sweet, and I love their shop dog!

Came here for smog. They were fast and pleasant. If you have a vehicle older than (2002?) you will definitely want to call ahead to make sure they can do it. Older vehicles take longer to setup and I believe they only smog them on certain days.
