Stayed one night on our road trip. We stayed in the garden room which is a small room with two beds. Everything was adequate, but the room made both of us sneeze. Our bathroom was clean, and just for us, but down the hall. There was a nice breakfast. There were also some comfortable public spaces. There were several other guests, but most folks kept to themselves. It felt a bit like a night in a museum.

What a beautiful and neat historic place! The bed was super soft, the room was gorgeous. The chef had made us a delicious breakfast in the morning. The gardens around the house are beautiful and peaceful. It's close to historic little downtown. In addition to all of that, it's pet-friendly, and the proprietors could not have been more accommodating to my dog, providing her with her own towel to lie on and a few little treats!

Lovely little bed and breakfast. Dog friendly on certain rooms, extra $25/night. Friendly host. Very comfortable rooms, very nice decor. Very clean. Some rooms enter from the outside which is super nice, some also have private balconies or porches. Grounds are gorgeous, very relaxing and private but also right in town, we walked to dinner. No fridge in our room, shared fridge in common area. Common areas are very nice, great for having a glass of wine and reading a book. Breakfast was buffet style and excellent. Scratch made quiche, Canadian bacon, and the usual assortment of pastries and cereals, but with organic milk and tea options. Highly recommend.

Lovely location and comfortable accommodations. We were last minute reservations with a pet, and as such only the most expensive room was available. Furnishings are comfortable, and large grounds are reasonably well-maintained, though looking worn. Breakfast was decidedly a disappointment, even allowing for COVID limitations, with an offering of stale muffins, fruit and a refrigerator with a selection of yogurt, some past sell by date (coffee was quite good). Service was limited, but uniformly friendly. While we were grateful for the last-minute booking, and comfortable at Shaw House, would probably look for better value elsewhere in the future.

A very unhappy woman (can' call her a lady as she was everything but to us) is running this place. It is rare to meet someone that viscious and out to destroy people's special days here. From what I heard from the townspeople, she is locally known for her malicous ways. i did not hold back to share the specifics of our bad experience here with them. Unfortunate, but would never consider coming back here. The female owner has some serious psychological issues that should be addressed. As far as the interiors are concerend, they were ok, very dodgy 1980's take on Victorian not an updated cool version. Some of the grout was moldy. Some lamps did not work and we let them know but nobody seemed to mind. The property presents much better than it was. The staff seems to operate on fear. Such an unhappy place, shame.

Great bed and breakfast place! We pretty much had the entire house to ourselves. I love how our bathrooms had claw foot tubs. If we weren't in a drought, I would of totally took a bath in it just for fun. The food was great and my son loved the blood oranges. I order a picnic basket which was perfect for our road trip through the mountains during the rain and snow. Was enough to hold down our tummy until we were able to stop at our next destination. I will definitely come back again!

Nice quiet stay. This is an authentic Victorian House. We are from France and were visiting the area. We arrived at the Shaw House Inn around 7 pm and were greeted by friendly Paula. We were given a room with a private bathroom and a private patio facing the luxuriant garden. Our experience felt like children staying at a grand mother's cosy mansion. We woke up , watching a beautiful dear eating apples in the garden. We especially appreciated the privacy since my husband does not like interfering with people or hosts too long. The house and rooms are clean and not fully updated but that's what we loved as it gives the place plenty of charm from the 19th century. The breakfast was good. Our only suggestion is to maybe add bread, pastry, butter and jam which Europeans usually prefer eating when they wake up.

Beautifully manicured grounds, quiet atmosphere surrounding the charming Gothic Victorian home. The room was cozy and comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. We took a pot of tea to the parlor and read by the light of the afternoon sun. We loved our weekend at the Shaw House.

What a beautiful and charming place! We were welcomed by the hostess, given a tour, and treated like royalty! The Inn is very clean, well kept, and the morning breakfast was amazing. Would highly recommend if you are in the area.

Stayed at the Inn from Monday to Friday. The parlor was our favorite place at the end of the day a nice glass of wine and a roaring fire couldn't have been any better.... Had an delightful time and the food was absolutely amazing. Our friends had never stayed at a B&B so was truly wonderful for their first experience. Paula is a wonderful hostess and we would love to visit again. The staff/grounds keeper, everyone was so nice and helpful. Congrats Paula on a well run establishment.

Well we were expecting a little more than we got. Staff was friendly and helpful. Queen bed was uncomfortable. The sliding door was locked with a tiny hasp and padlock, (door lock was broken). Thermostat was taped over, and maintenance needed to be done on the grounds as well as the room. We stayed for 3 days only place in town that will allow pets. Breakfast and coffee was top knotch.

Very nice BUT tired...owners lovely people. Bed way too soft...no regular tv and too small. Can hear others in adjacent room...lack of grounds upkeep. We went to breakfast at 0930. All gone and closed even though supposed to be available until 1000

Food was excellent, garden was beautiful. Had a couple spiders in our towels which made us feel that they hadn't been changed for a while and the sheets felt dusty. Otherwise it was a good experience. Perhaps a little too much on the pricey side

Charming, quaint, beautiful. The grounds are lovely and well maintained. The inn is a beautiful historic Victorian house. Our room was quiet, clean, and comfortable. I believe that every room has its own private bathroom. Netflix, dvds, and Wi-Fi are all available. Buffet-style breakfast is served at 8am, and included quiche, cereal, muffins, fresh fruit, and yogurt. Many local restaurants open late (around 8 or later) and close early (or are closed Mon-Wed). Plan your meals accordingly! Main street (site of most shops and restaurants) is within easy walking distance. The inn has a great location!
