If you are a mature and responsible vehicle owner, you will understand mechanic work is costly. If you want experienced professionals, be prepared to pay up. If you aren't in a position to do so, try it and figure out your options. Don't be a victim and blame everybody else with negative reviews.Ryans Automotive is 100% worth the investment in maintaining your vehicle. They will ensure your and your family's safety on the road. My son's repair was costly, but as a responsible, community-contributing citizen, I recognize Ryan's Automotive value in our community: outstanding service, quality parts, and professional, timely, honest, and friendly advice. I brought my car in to have my fuel pump diagnosed, and I was very grateful for how friendly the staff was, and how they went above and beyond to try and find the problem to my car. They also did a lot of research. Try to find me a good deal on a new fuel pump which needed to be replaced. be more thankful for all the staff and how they really care for their customers. Thank you guys for all your help.

They make sure your car is done correctly. Make sure if there's any other issue wrong with it. They will notify you to see if you would like it done or wait. Great place. Might be a little pricey but you know you have a clear mind that you will be alright when you get on the road. Great place and people.

This place has a monopoly over DMV inspections. They follow strict rules adhered by DMV and don't give clients any leeway whatsoever. I went in for a brake and light inspection and I had three bulbs that were out, two license plates and my third brake. What should have been $15 extra for some light bulbs and I'm costing me almost $400 under excessive labor. I was not allowed to leave with the vehicle and return and show them that the lights were repaired. I would have been charged for the brake and light inspection once again. This was the first and last time I did business with the shop. And after everything they send me a Christmas card with a business card attached. I already gave them the gift of $400, What else do they want from me?

Disappointed! Zero stars! First of all it s very expensive compare other places.. the reason they charge so high is because nobody else does brakes&lamps in Fairfield besides them. I took the car for brakes&lamp inspection .after I left the car at their shop for 5 hours they called me notifying that the brakes has failed due to some minor issues, which of course, they can fix for $$$ .lamps are ok, passed. Paid $200 for 2 inspections and they wanted me either to let them work on the brakes or to come back for retesting brakes again, pay them again $100 for retesting. I said it ll never happen, took the car, drove 40 minutes to Sacramento, and everything passed! Brakes&lamps passed! Ryan s simply want your money! Don t trust this guys!

I finally gota chance to take a car here. Word of mouth in town was highly recommended for brakes when I needed something on another vehicle two years ago. I was able to get priceless information over the phone. Last week I needed an urgent diagnostic test done on "my baby" so I was able to take a vehicle in to them. I had bad timing because they were short staffed when I got it towed there early on a Friday and I assumed they were open Saturday without confirming. I got a call from Ryan himself on Monday with detailed diagnostic and full explanation of what was going on and his professional opinion of what he thought was going on and what to do next. Only charged me for diagnosis even though it was a little more than that. Great place and I'm so glad I went here. Honest shop. Didn't treat me like a girl that doesn't know what they are talking about. Definitely see why they have such an amazing reputation. Don't see why the review score is low. Everyone always wants perfection at hella low cost. I didn't have expensive work done but if that was the case I definitely wouldn't mind them being pricier because they would be worth the professionalism, knowledge, courtesy, and small town feel that they give. An honest and knowledgeable mechanic is hard to find. Thank you Ryan and Sergio!!!! You guys are so awesome!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Vehicle Inspection

I went today morning trying to do inspection for my brakes and lights And the guy told me that the brakes need to replaces the cylinder they were leaking And also they tell me they need to replace that shoes worn as you can see they perfect condition way people tried to still money non professional sorry

I needed brake and light inspection to register my recently deemed total loss vehicle. Ryan was sure to emphasize how he s one of the few folks in the area that does these sort of inspections. He called me a few hours later saying I did not pass the brake inspection because of a leaky rear wheel cyclinder and his shop could do the job for 220$ parts and labor. And of course, for extra, he could do all my brakes as well. I politely declined as I could do the drum repairs myself. I prop up the vehicle and it takes me an incessantly long period of time to take that drum off. There is hella dust falling out EVERYWHERE as I tap the drum with the mallet. This guy NEVER even opened up that drum. It was so clearly evident. I finally took the wheel off and sure enough the whole area is dry. I ended up taking the vehicle elsewhere and it passed easily. The guy there was even kind enough to let me know that I may need new brakes soon BUT he estimated in another 20k or so. I guess my only advice is if you absolutely have to go to this guy, hover around and make sure they are actually performing a service.

I have been using Ryan s Automotive shop for about 8 years now. I will admit that I have taken some of my cars to other shops during this time but the other shops didn t offer the level of expertise as Ryan s. Ryan s is a little more expensive than other shop but they are the best in troubleshooting and fixing it right the first time. Don t waste your time with other shops like I did. Pay a little more and get it fix the right way the first time. Can t put a price on piece of mind or safety. Good deal on a simple AC service. Look for a coupon on Your Town magazine. Fast and efficient. They ll tell you all that you need to know about your car, up to you what you want done.

Read the reviews and decided to try them out. Oh was i dissapointed came in specifically for break replacement even before they looked at the vehicle i told them i need a break job on it. Was then told it needed inspection thats fine as long as the breaks are changed. Asked specifically for a break change 3 more times even when i was signing the paperwork to drop it off to make sure we were on the same page. They told me yes they will be changed. Come to find out all they did was the inspection and nothing else. They have a sign saying do the right thing even when no one is looking and man did they lie.

The owner kept my car for 31 days for a suppose $600 sensor job when I got it back the Car had fast food cups, debris & no gas like somebody was using it as a daily driver. He charge me $1600 then the next day the check engine light came on he charge me another 1600. Please be aware of this company and giving fake estimates! Wrote the automotive bureau, and has a court date for small claims court. Took it to another mechanic and the work he said he did wasn t done!Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Zero stars. They rip you off. $1,000 for a diagnostics of maybe. My vehicle still not running. No customer service. The owner quotes one thing and then quotes another. High price business with no resolve. I took my vehicle to the dealership and they quickly solved the issue. They said my vehicle never should have been torn apart like it was. Never do business there again. Watch you wallet here

Giving it 5 stars for now, my car is waiting so this review might change. They were cheap and understanding so far. With the intention of just a visual inspection if $75. If it's electronic it will be an additional hundred and something more. Waiting to know more.

Someone recommended these guys to us on Fairfield Facebook page.. I will never take a FB recommendation again! Do not go here these guys will rip you off. I had my AC done here they quoted us 140 to 170 dollars just to test the system. They call and tell my husband they found a leak in a metal hose And the part may cost us an additional 300 bucks but none of there suppliers or anyone of the oreillys napa auto parts stores have the part and that it will take a week or so to get the part. So my husband goes out of his way to the junkyard finds the part for only 5 bucks. What a ripoff! After they install the part they call and say oh wait a second theres another leak.... what the heck. after 3 different tests they still couldn't find the leak. And to find the leak they wana run a 4th test but it would cost an additional 400 dollars just to FIND the leak and that didn't include repairing the leak either. im stuck with an suv with no AC and I was charged over 600 dollars for NOTHING. No way give me my car back! I will never ever go here again. and they were super slow.

My diesel was having some issues. It wouldn't regen. So the DEF filter was probably clogged I thought. I know it's not a diesel shop but I figured off the reviews I'd give them a shot. They ended up having the truck for an extra few days, but they were quick to call and let me know why. Turned out I had a thermostat issue and it wasnt getting to the right temps to regen itself. They were able to do figure out the issues and do a force regen. The truck runs amazing again. That's the second time I've used them and I'll be using then again on my newest commuter truck. Super friendly and knowledgeable techs as far as I can tell

I invite to do your research before bringing your car here. Ryan the owner, made it very clear that if he found something wrong with the car, I could not leave and get it fixed somewhere else, if I did, he would have to charge me all over again. He showed me three books, and pointing at them, he told me that he does what the State tells him to do. I replied.. what if I want my certified mechanic to do all the work? Then I have to charge you again. By the way, this guy told me that he was the only one IN THE AREA, that could do the work, because nobody else wanted to do it.Surprise!!! I called Dean s Autos & Radiators and what a difference. In and out, and they promise re-check for free in case something goes wrong. No problems and a great experience with Dean.

Great customer service, very quick and efficient work done to my vehicle! LOWEST PRICE BRAKE AND LIGHT INSPECTION I've seen in the Vallejo, Fairfield area.I needed a brake and light inspection done to my 99 Toyota Camry and Ryans Automotive are one of the last in the game for brake and light inspections. They go by the book when it comes to the requirements for brake and light inspections and sometimes viewed as the bad guys for failing a test because for example 1/50 LED lights are out but that is NOT the case. These are great guys and are simply obeying the laws.Also if your vehicle fails, they will repair it on the spot with no reinspection fee. If you remove your vehicle to fix it yourself then OF COURSE you will be charged again for an inspection, which makes sense. Know that beforehand.Before we even began they were kind enough to eyeball my vehicle and offer suggestions of what to repair before I paid for the services to help avoid failing. For instance I had a cracked headlight and they told me that would be a fail as well as a loose side lamp. I was able to fix that myself and save some money before bringing it back to test. Mind you it is only suggestions they offered which is not a guarantee to pass as they have to hook your vehicle up to machines for testing.I would reccomend these guys again and have them service my vehicle in the future.-DontayeServices: General repairs & maintenance, Electrical, Brakes

Way too demanding they wanted me to leave my classic car there&walk away .no .I am senior disabled. He was talking about catalytic conv.being stolen. He refused to let me wait in their lobby...what?I always stay with my car.No way. I never went there!!!I don't think so ... bye

Service here is almost guaranteed to be a positive experience even if it costs you time and money. Ray helped us figure out a serious problem on the highway that unexpectedly resulted in our having to abandon an old vehicle and sign it over for their disposal. After the ordeal was over we felt relieved and grateful for their willingness to serve in a pinch.

Overall good experience, fair price, awesome service. I was helped at the front counter by a nice gentleman, he quickly informed me that he is as tough as nails and old enough to be my grandpa. One of the handsome workers completed my service with a level of efficiency that exceeds human comprehension while I enjoyed hearing tales of Johnson's presidential outfit. Clean shop, great service at a fair price.

i have a 1986 ford ranger that was having trouble passing smog, so i went there after replacing a bunch of parts and it still failed. i decided to have them diagnose instead of throwing more parts at it blindly and was quoted 160.00 for the diagnoses, for the 160.00 i got a very thorough diagnoses that told me and them that all the work i did before and after the catalytic converters was fine and that it was the cats. now when i had them do that it was my intention to just get a confirmation of the problem.i did decline them doing the new cats but that was always my intention because i can weld, and turn bolts on the new cats.the owner did inform me that since i am doing the work myself that the new cats must be "California compliant" factory replacement or they will fail if the smog guy does his job and checks.**the only complaint i have is i was quoted 2 to 3 hours at roughly 10am, at 4.30pm i called and was informed they were having issues and that it would be tomorrow. make a phone call and inform your customers what is going on, i commute with my wife so it was not a big deal but it could have been.

First of all, was impressed how clean the grounds looked and the work area the same. The inside is well appointed and makes feel welcomed.Very professional in doing business and explaining in detail the changes.If I ever need work when traveling and near by, it will be the place to.

Over priced to say the least. I was able to get the work cheaper at vacaville honda. Ray who is soon to quit was very rude. The work they do is slow and unreliable. Do valve timing, oil change,and inspect steering wheel on honda was $1300. Oh another 2100 for timing belt, spark plugs, and fluids. Went to honda vacaville 2100 for everything. Dealership is the way to go. I should have read the reviews you have been warned. Ryan's auto in Fairfield, CA.

Watch these people... Their are not always honest. They also tell you, you need stuff for your car and you really don't. So beware of this shop and it's practices. They will quote one price and then change the price later by saying that you need additional stuff.If you choose to get your car repaired here, be very careful. You are warned
