Fabulous shop. Honest, fast, efficient; they do good work. Everyone who works here is courteous and takes the time to explain what needs to be done and why. They get your approval before moving forward and give you an honest opinion on what can wait if budget is a concern. Had a poor experience with this particular shop. Went in for a smog check and an inspection of the vehicle as a diagnosis for a noise I was experiencing. They were polite and did decent work to investigate my noise issue. They had not completed the smog check despite that being half of the reason for the visit. After having the car for 6 hours they wanted 30 more minutes to finish. Not a terrible mistake but just kind of annoying after taking time to do a bunch of courtesy checks.Oil change is 150$ for synthetic high mileage. Probably a good price for the area.

Daniel and the crew are great. They gave me a decent price and they did excellent work. I have been going there for 3 years now and I always get great service! I highly recommend Marin Automotive.

This was my family's first experience using Marin Automotive and we couldn't be more pleased. After a terrible experience at the local VW dealership we needed a reliable, local shop that could take over the work on our car without the hassles and high prices of the dealership. Marin Automotive delivered. Daniel and his team are knowledgeable, super detail oriented, and they work with you to find the right solutions for your car, at a fair price. They have excellent customer service and are timely with their repairs. You can tell that Daniel leads by example as his team is just on top of it and all around awesome. I like working with Daniel and Angel. They were very thorough and they got a lot of important work done. Convenient Fairfax location. Good service, helpful mechanics. Appointment strongly advised. Need a ride if you leave the car, or visit one of the nearby restaurants or go to a movie across the way.

It is very difficult to find a good place, so to find it here for a significantly better price than the dealer feels great. They test drive almost every car, they pick up and drop off and basically deliver the real-life small-town neighborhood experience. And they're dog-friendly of course! I've used them several times with multiple vehicles and have received solid, professional work with great service every time.

I ve brought my cars in to Marin Automotive in Fairfax for several different things over the years. Daniel and everyone that works there are very nice. They explain whats wrong with the car, what needs to be fixed, and the approximate time when it would be done. I trust them completely with my vehicles. Recently my wife and I were in Northern California visiting family. We had taken my mom-in-law, and her car, on a little sight-seeing tour of Marin County along with some shopping and lunch in Fairfax. On the drive over, I had noted she was a little overdue for routine maintenance, and upon arriving into town, I was able to get her car into the shop on short notice. Danial, the owner, has been in the automotive trade for decades serving the Fairfax community. He and his staff were sharp, efferent and professional. They got the car in and out in just a few hours, before we even finished lunch, and didn t try to upsell us on anything the car really didn t need. The shop was large, clean and well organized. If you live in or pass through town and your car needs a bit of work, definitely stop in. Trustworthy and very well run!

Daniel is wonderful to work with and is always attentive and efficient. His prices are reasonable and he does an an excellent job in finding the issue and repairing. We use him exclusively for car needs. Don't hesitate to call for an appointment for your automotive repair needs.

Excellent in every way. This is comprehensive car care: not only are immediate concerns addressed, swiftly and clearly communicated, assessments of other areas of the car are made without pressure to fix if the issue is a wait and see. Service is exemplary. I have had the pleasure of dealing directly with Daniel, the owner, but with support staff and some of the mechanics. Not only is my car well served, I, as a customer am as well.Last, trust is huge in the automotive world, and Marin Automotive has mine.

I just had Marin Automotive do a quick Smog check on my car and it reminded me just how great they are! I ve had Daniel and the Marin Automotive team do lots of work on my car as well as other cars belonging to family. We have ALL had nothing but the best experience with them. Trustworthy and polite! Daniel Costa, the owner of Marin Automotive in Fairfax, delivers first-rate workmanship with fairness and integrity. I always feel confident that the work he recommends is work that really needs to be done. He also always takes the time to answer my questions, when I have them, so I would add that he has exceptional benchside manner as well. If you are looking for good work at a fair price, you have found it at Marin Automotive.

I ve called them twice for a service that my truck needed in the afternoon. They got the parts and finished up before the end of the day. In this 24/7 World we live in a where we expect instant gratification same day delivery type service they are more than meeting those expectations. It s not enough anymore to just do good work. Do you have to do it fast, give people updates and be competitively priced. Hats off to you guys!

I myself work in the automotive field and I know how hard it is to gain peoples trust when it comes to dealing with their car services. With that said, I have never known anyone that is so genuine and good hearted as Daniel Costa. That is why I take my personal car to his shop cause I know he will take great care of me.

Daniel, the remarkably and unscalably friendly, professional, and passionate owner of this long time family owned vehicle and automotive repair and mechanic facility, really came to my aid. He was so evidently not the least bit concerned about padding his business's profit margin, as he was 150% dedicated to somehow securing for me in literally record time a crucial 5th door rear cargo assembly, without it my alarm, the FOB, and all of the door locks could not properly function. Daniel was able to track down for me a factory-sealed OEM assembly for less than $25. The next best price quote came from my vehicle manufacturer, which, not including installation (easily a couple hundred in additional add on cost), just for the part alone they quoted me at $385. Daniel got me in and out in under an hour, and he also fixed a different problem I was having which we didn't even discuss or schedule in at no charge. Trust me, Daniel exhibited the very highest level of customer development, appreciation, and ultra professionalism. By extension his staff also are equally as pleasant to have an interaction with. Daniel has to be without exaggeration one of the nicest and most trustworthy human beings literally to walk the planet.

Traveling through the area my FJ60 developed a serious oil leak. These guys got me in and had a diagnosis within an hour or so. They got the parts, checked some other things I needed and had it ready first thing the next morning. Communication was excellent, they showed me the issue on the rack and made sure that we were on the same page with the issue and the repair. The workman ship appears to be top quality. The price was quite high maybe twice what I would have expected.They said the oil pressure gauge didn't work because of wiring or the actual gauge. I worked on the gauge and discovers they put in an oil pressure switch, not an oil sender, that is why the gauge doesn't work. They have offered to refund the price of the switch if I return it but I have to find a shop to take if off and then ship it to them.They are honest but expensive and not particularly competent.
