Trusty auto shop with great hours for a M-F worker. Prices are reasonable and no problems with any work performed on my 2015 Honda Odyssey. Was nice and professional enough to do a quick inspection of my other vehicle as well, even though his lot and garage were full.Front desk manager is very friendly and organized, I recommend this shop and look forward to working more with them in the future, hopefully on some custom projects.

Did not call me back for my original appointment which I was forced to reschedule, poor communication between technician and front office, and did not receive the referral discount from Premier Oil. One star except for the fact they offered a free diagnosis and were cordial enough (which I was thankful for) but called and said they were unable to get to/replace my oil filter housing without concern of breaking things or destroying screws and that it would be additional costs for their troubles. I declined as I did not want any additional damage to the vehicle or charges as they did not seem confident in the job, yet when I arrived to pick up the vehicle they had already destroyed one of my bolts without repairs being made and when putting the vehicle back together, my minor oil leak (a drip every once in awhile) has increased significantly. I still was charged for labor and was told they were not responsible for the broken bolt. Left feeling like an idiot for spending for labor for them to damage the vehicle further and unable to fix the issue without up charges and more risk to the vehicle.

CUSTOMERS BEWARE! RIP OFFS!I'm from Hoopa and arrived to discover Williams had cancelled my appointment with no call to notify me. They then requested I leave my vehicle overnight which I never do but because I was so far away from home I decided to leave my truck with Williams for repair and stay with family on the coast. Daniel calls later that day explaining the repairs that the truck needed. I explain to Daniel I would like the work done but please call with a quote for ME to approve. Daniel knew I was utilizing a state program for the repairs which allowed for $1500 in work. Mr Daniel never calls me just did the work and stuck me with a $1700 bill and says Williams charges OEM pricing. When I explain that the program I'm using only allows for $1500 repairs they adjusted it to $1499 taking all the repair money I need to do other repairs. Williams gave me no choice but just did the work and billed me. Horrible business ethics! Now that I got my truck back the door rattles, the acceleration surges like they swapped parts on my truck through the night while they had it in their possession. BE VERY WEARY OF THIS MECHANICS BUSINESS PRACTICES!!

After my car broke down, I was freaking out because I couldn't afford to take on a new car payment. After purchasing an entirely new engine, Williams was able to quickly swap the new engine for the old one, and my car has never ran better. They quoted me at the beginning of the process and stood by it, and I couldn't find a better price anywhere else. These guys are lifesavers. If you're having car troubles, you'll be in good hands at Williams Auto. Thanks a million for getting me back on the road.

This auto shop is a LIFE SAVER! My boyfriend and I were traveling from the Bay Area in our van and on our way back home we experienced engine troubles. Luckily we were able to make it to Eureka in order to stop at Williams, but we still had a five and a half hour drive to get home. Williams was the only auto shop open in the area on that Sunday and they were gracious enough to squeeze us in within the hour. Emily worked the front desk and she was so friendly and helpful. She was really warm and welcoming, which was much needed considering the circumstances. I can't remember the mechanic's name, but he was a bald gentleman with a beard. He was amazing! He was able to give us the advice we needed in order to make it home in one piece. He wrote up everything we needed to have done, so we could give it to our local mechanic once we got back home. He was super friendly and extremely helpful and knowledgeable, which we really appreciated in our time of need. Not to mention, they were able to do all of this for us during what looked like a very busy schedule. We are both so grateful for this auto shop!Service: Auto engine diagnostic

To travelers stranded, with car issues near Eureka, CA. My car broke down in Fortuna, CA alternator gone on a 2013 Audi Q7. The people here at Williams help me out with no questions asked. I told them what the issue was and they took care of it.. I was on my way to Crescent City, CA. I dropped of my car on Thursday and picked it up Saturday morning.. remember people parts take a day to arrive.. When I arrived Saturday morning my car was ready to go. Drove from Eureka CA to Long Beach, CA with out any issues. I would recommend this shop 100%. Also try to book a car at Enterprise the people there are helpful.. Thank you Williams. You guys saved my family's vacation trip.

I really wish I read all the reviews before I trusted them with my car. I was desperate trying to find a repair shop so that my son could take his driver's license test with my car. I really felt like the people who work there were so kind and courteous, so this made me trust them immediately. But when miscommunications kept happening, I realized there is something not right. I was told several times my car would be done and that they needed more time, it turned out that the parts never arrived and were not expected to arrive. None of this was communicated to me until I kept calling them by the end of day on a three day extension. Then there was issues reported in the estimate that were not even a problem not to mention that in an attempt to fix my horn, which never got fixed, they messed up my electrical wiring. I wished that they could have had my business but I will never go there again.

My car was overheating and leaking coolant and the team was able to pin point the issue, order the part and get me back on the road that day. Great option if you live or work in old town Eureka! Pick up and drop off was easy peasy. I will definitely be seeking their help with future issues. Also my speakers had been out for awhile and they were working when I picked the car back up. Bonus points to the crew for that added assist. Service: Auto engine diagnostic

So this place is completely unprofessional and illegitimate the owner is a young kid who isn t at all professional he took a catalytic converter off a customers car and used it on his own vehicle to pass smog without customers knowledge. Not to mention over priced and very rude.definitely wouldn t recommend Williams automotive if it was the last place on earth. Beware.

Spent the money to have a diagnostic. I was parroted what I already said and knew. The copper and brass shavings found in fuel? I dropped tank and looked for any trace of. Not a spec. When I brought truck to shop it had no codes. Left with check engine light on. When I returned to job site I read and cleared codes. Found he forgot to uncrimp a high pressure fuel line. For what reason would you cut off fuel when there's a fuel problem. Might explainlack of fuel pressure. I was supposed to receive a quote to repair. I'm not from eureka. Other shops that suggested other shops that were more knowledgeable working on diesels. I learn a expensive lesson. Now I'm working with a mechanic that's trustworthy working in my truck.3 stars because I'm not satisfied or dissatisfied. Just out the cost I could have put twords answers to one of my many questions. All I got was what I already knew.

Brought my early 80s ford into this shop last week for them to diagnose/ adjust my CARBURETOR. Get a call back a couple hours later saying my plug wires were routed improperly resulting in a miss fire. They claimed the cap and rotor needed to be replaced because of this. They quoted me 700$ to replace plug wires and the cap/ rotor. When I got home I compared my plug wires to the original 1980s manual for the truck only to find they were indeed routed correctly. Also checked the cap and rotor (which I replaced less than 2 years ago) and it looks great. So they claim somethings wrong that is clearly not. They never diagnosed the Carburetor which was the only reason I brought it in. Then want to charge 700 dollars for 60$ in parts and a hour of labor.

Let me start by saying I've never left a review in my life, but this has place definitely earned it.I took my car in for minor repairs needed because of a small fender bender. Front end, nothing crazy, just needed a coolant tank because mine was cracked. We're new to the area, this shop was close to our house, so that's where I took my car for the repairs. Keep in mind, car was driving fine. Was getting slightly low on coolant, but we always keep some on hand, so I can fill that no problem. Got a call a couple days later saying I need x,y, and z done, and I said "please get in touch with my insurance, find out what's covered, then give me a call back to confirm anything that isn't covered." They'd later say I was "denying repairs" when I just wanted confirmation on what I'd be paying for out of pocket.Fast forward and I get a call from my claims agent warning me that this shop is doing some shady stuff and to pull my car. In the pictures he received, my car WAS FULLY TAKEN APART when it didn't need to be. For a small front end collision? I picked up my car and was furious. Went to start it and it literally starts shaking. Barely driveable, JUST barely made it home 3 streets over. My car is shaking, my transmission is ruined, and god knows what else is wrong with it now. I'm normally a very put-together person, but I called my claims agent sobbing that day because I was so frustrated and confused on how this could have happened when I only needed minor repairs.Dear god do not take your car here. Most unprofessional, shady shop I've ever been to. They don't take any responsibility and blame the customer when you're on to them/ask questions, sneak things past you, straight up lie to you, etc. Especially if they think you don't know anything about cars. And if the shop sees this, don't even bother responding. You have RUINED my car and I want absolutely nothing to do with you. Absolute trash excuse for an auto shop.EDIT: I'd also like to point out I'd JUST taken my car to 2 other shops the month prior, one for a routine oil change and one for a new battery since we were taking a trip and wanted to be safe. I had both shops do inspections and absolutely nothing was wrong other than the damage to the front end/coolant tank.

Daniel is a great mechanic and we will absolutely use him anytime we are in the area. We were passing through on our way to the Redwoods and the blower motor for our AC went out. It was the weekend, no one else in town was open. Showed up at Williams in the afternoon Saturday and got an appointment to be seen Sunday morning. He diagnosed the issue and also let us know our coolant tank was punctured (yikes). They got parts ordered and had us back on our way by Thursday. We were absolutely not in a rush and our van was still drivable so we had no problem hanging around town for a few extra days.Definitely recommend them if you're in the area and need a mechanic!

My partner and I were passing through the area on a long road trip when we experienced engine troubles (lack of turbo boost) with our sprinter van. Daniel was able to fit us into the schedule immediately and after an evening and morning of diagnostics was able to get us back on the road safely to home (Seattle). We were given a writeup of diagnostics to bring to our local mechanic. Pricing was more than fair, especially given the numerous hours of intensive troubleshooting involved. Daniel and family were extremely friendly and kind during the entire process. We wish we had a mechanic that cares as much as Daniel at home! Thank you for your amazing service - we are incredibly grateful!

I was having some issues with my car and I brought it down to Daniel and crew. I will tell you there is not a kinder man that would bend over backwards to the car on the road. I highly recommend Daniel, Joey and Kayla to anyone that has car issue. Thank your your hard work Williams automotive!

I highly recommend Williams Auto Repair. Daniel went above and beyond when diagnosing and fixing our car troubles. We brought our car in late Saturday afternoon, and he diagnosed the problem that evening so he could have answer for us first thing the next morning. Since we only planned to be in Eureka one night, he fixed it up so that we could make it back home and gave us a detailed report explaining the problem and the repair. We re lucky that we found this auto repair shop during our travels and are thankful for the great service we received!

You did not put the oil back in my rear axle after doing work on my back tire, you guys are totally at fault for me now having to buy and replace my back axle. I'm giving you one opportunity to make it right with either giving me one thousand to buy a new one or buying it for me, I will have another mechanic put it in since you did not do your job right. If not I will be taking the advice of the lawyer I have retained as I do have a recording of your worker telling me he forgot to put it in.

I moved to Arcata from my hometown where all my car work was done by my cousin for free. My car always has something going on, and I needed the power steering pump, rack pin, and side mirror mixed, and I was nervous about going somewhere as a girl and getting ripped off. I came here and immediately just felt comfortable, the owner is an amazing person, very sweet, and the work is amazing done on my car. Let me see, it s amazing to have power steering again. I recommend for a lot of people to come here, also couches are very comfortable which was a nice touch. I m happy to have gone here and thank you so much!Service: Steering & suspension repair

Would give 0 stars if it was an option. They do not have an alignment machine so they drive your car away from the premises, without your consent or knowledge, then charge you double because they have to pay to use another company's equipment. My husband had a 9:00 morning appointment and was told that the alignment would take 1 hour. He was there for 4 hours before realizing that his car was not even at the shop. When he was told where to find the car, he walked to that shop and realized that nobody had started work on the car at all. He then learned that they charge $270 at Williams but the shop that had the car only charge $169. When we attempted to have a conversation with the owner, Daniel, he explained that sometimes these things happen and he is not at fault. He offered no compensation, he offered no sympathy and he took absolutely no responsibility for the hell that he put my husband and I through. I do not recommend this business.

My ignition broke while visiting Arcata on a Sunday morning. Emily was at the service desk and who I spoke with and Daniel was the mechanic. They BOTH had EXCELLENT customer service and Daniel came to me and fixed my car. Considering the day and them coming to me the price was very good. I HIGHLY recommend them if you have mechanical issues in the area.
