My overall experience was a blessing and saved me when my movers I hired flaked on me. Excellent customer service! They were pleasant & happy people. I felt informed and well taken care of. They were open on easter. The only suggestion is to put plus gas and mileage on all advertising so the next customer is informed and comes with enough money. I highly recommend this location on Jacobs Ave in eureka California

I rented a trailer at the U-haul Eureka. I did the checkin online, the whole process to hook the trailer to my car took less than 15 mins. Staff was great and answered to all my questions. The trailer was well maintained. I do recommend this store.

The damage policies have gotten ridiculous. I spent a long time having to photograph every little blemish and uploading to their clunky portal. The damage waiver fee is excessive compared to rental car companies, and includes a large deductible unlike those others. They assured me they will charge for even the tiny surface scratches that most companies ignore as normal wear and tear, leading to the cumbersome process of uploading 30 photos. Finally, the "pay for damage immediately" policy is an unnecessary burden when many people have credit cards that include coverage in addition to comprehensive car insurance (neither of which will pay immediately).

Who is the competitor in Humboldt for u- haul HUMBOLDT MOVEING OR OUR THEY Partnered WITH U-HAUL . I LIKE U-HAUL I HOPE.... I don't think that college kids should be rewarded if you want to college to be somebody important and do something in the world then you should be doing that and if you are working somewhere that you only need a K through 12 education but you went to college then I'm sorry you shouldn't be you should be I got dirty,dirty...... down upon I'm not really sure what thank you goodbye.... You know what I don't think I can ever get a normal job again. Cuz I think I will get fired or going to getting a freaking felony whatever is here 25 15 30 years and public customer service started when I was 7 16 have no college see tons of college thanks for the map things on the side of the freaking trucks doesn't know the map things yeah I can totally see think of a blazing a blazing ship of a bog anyways that's so much stuff they have boat trailers boat trailers motorcycle trailers first you guys don't have toy haulers wasn't about to moving truck is a toy haulers.. I don't know but I cannot be an employee yet freaking U-Haul I became getting way too many felonies with way to many people to war stories from ... But you can go ahead and you can embezzle in wander okay over educated ones that didn't go to college for what they were supposed to never mind you don't understand dirty do you. I understand dirty in multiple versions and points of view just depends on what point and how many I got at that moment in timei'm way past eye guards.

Returning it was NOT good. Armen checked us in and said we needed to pay $25 for excessive dirt. That's crazy! It was only dirty because rain splash the dirt from the streets up onto the bottom of the truck. There were a couple of hand handfuls of hay in the front right corner. I offered to remove them. I have video and I will be sending it on to Uhaul Corporate office.

We reserved our 6x12 enclosed trailer for a cross-country move (for $3000 no less) the pick up was ok but we did not check the trailer before leaving. We then pull up to our house to load up and open the door to find it full of other peoples stuff. There was a king size mattress and a box spring still in the uhaul. We then called to tell uhaul of the issue and they said they would call their GM and call us back. We had to call back 2 hours later just to be told they weren t going to do anything about it. Terrible customer service, the General Manager Dale refused to talk to us because he was off . My understanding is that a GM is a salaried position and should always be available for issues like this. I was told to call the 1-800 number for help and now I m on hold when I should be loading this trailer. So wish me luck and save yourself the hassle. Use a different uhaul location. Disrespectful and a disgrace to a trusted brand. Spend double and buy your own, that s what I might have to end up doing.

These guys are above any I've rented from. Excellent customer service and I would highly recommend them to anyone. No hassle, no problem. Friendly and very helpful. Awesome employees.

Had a reservation for weeks at 7am on a Saturday .day came I was here 10 minutes before 7 and no one was here .online hours say opened at 7 and business hours posted outside said 7

It was an ok experience . They all greeted me right away and were very helpful and welcoming. The one thing that was a little off putting was the price of everything. The boxes in the bundle there are barely a discount for buying in bulk, expensive to buy separately, the truck is a decent price but they really get you on miles and the price people are trying to charge for help with moving is ridiculous. Companies are trying to charge $500 to $1000 and more just to move down the street or next town over. We decided to go with one of the many people on craigslist that really need the work and money for their families at $20 an hour and give them a huge tip after instead of being grossly overcharged by a moving company that will barely do anything for a massive price. Get the insurance trust me. They tried to say there was the tinniest little scratch on the window and it was going to cost over $600 is what the itemized receipt said. I wish I could post it so you all could see. But it was bull . I very highly doubt we did that and even if it did happen that's part of driving around and it wasn't even a crack it was a scratch that we aren't even sure we caused because they didn't take close up pictures. They just wanted to most likely have insurance cover the cost of a new window or the employee wanted to look good for his boss. He was a nit picky jerk to us and for now on I will be moving my own stuff and just make more trips just so I don't have to deal with this rediculous charge again. I just can't believe we were treated so badly when they were so nice at first.

Customer service sucked. The 26' truck I reserved was not there when I arrived. They tried to offer me a 15' with trailer, which was not even close to what I needed. They forced me to take a 20' and trailer. The real problem is, there was clearly a 26' truck available, that was reserved for the next day, but instead of ruining their life, they decided to ruin my life. I was there first, I should have gotten the 26' truck present at the time. Please get new management and new employees at this location. The 1st guy I spoke with, I think may not have any experience speaking to customers and struggled with every word that came out of his mouth.I need a full refund!!!On top of it all, another guy came in shortly after me, had a reservation for another 26' and his life was ruined as well, as they did not have a truck for him either.

The staff at this location have been exceptionally wonderful. We came in several times just to ask questions and they were always helpful and friendly, no matter who we dealt with. They have gone above and beyond to make our experience as quick and easy as possible. They even carried our moving boxes to our truck for us. Thank you to all of the staff at the Jacobs Avenue, Eureka U-haul. You have changed my view of U-haul.

the equipment was well maintained, but the business practices are shady. before returning the truck, i took it to the gas station and filled it exactly to the point where i picked it up. that was my mistake, because when i returned it to the location 7 miles away, it was of course a little short (about 1-2 gallons). upon checkout, the clerk attempted to charge me an $80 gas fee -- apparently the checkout software automatically assigned that fee. it took 40 minutes to research and undo that ridiculous charge. in the end i was charged $16, which is fair and what i was prepared for, but it was a waste of time and a headache.additionally, they strategically put the dolly at the very front of the truck, warning the customer that if they break the seal, they will be charged to use it. i'm a woodworker and own more dollies than i do pairs of pants. i indicated in my reservation process that i did not need dollies or blankets, and yet they were still in the truck. one of my guys had to move the dolly because it was in the way during loading, of course incurring a fee. i'm pretty sure this is strategic on their part. it's only $7, but it's petty bs.in general, the clerks seemed flummoxed and mystified regarding the checkout software. in other words, if you had any questions about a charge, the best answer you get is "i'm not sure, it's the system..."we've all had to use uhaul from time to time -- just be vigilant about the charges you incur, and don't trust the system to charge you fairly. examine/question the invoice before signing off.

Worst uhaul I have ever experienced. They didn't have what was reserved for us and then wouldn't compensate. When the manager got on the phone and told the guy to just give us a trailer for free to compensate us for the Trouble the kid was irritated. He set us up in a trailer that had a bend arm and as soon as we brought it back he made a big deal out of it like we did it. Then told us it was a additional 650.00. We told them no but we were charged for it anyway. Horrible customer service. Don't bother with this place.

Rented some U-boxes to be shipped to Eureka, CA. they were in u-haul's care for two weeks prior to the scheduled arrival in Eureka. we arrived in Eureka to find that the boxes still hadn't left El Cajon's facility. received a text message from the person assigned to "handle" the delay situation. she was very unhelpful and didnt have answers to anything i asked. lots of programmed responses. every person i talked to on the phone was equally unhelpful. no one had a clue what was going on or what caused the delay or why the boxes sat in the warehouse for two weeks when a delivery date had clearly been arranged. none of the different office locations within uhaul talk to each other, so no one can help unless your boxes have been transferred into that office's care, which doesnt help when the boxes are in transit and no office is "in possession" of them. the only reason i give two stars instead of one is because once the boxes got on their way, they arrived in Eureka very quickly. once the boxes arrived in Eureka, i was told they would be ready for pickup as early as 7am the next morning and that was when they scheduled the pick up for in their system. my third party moving service arrived at 8am and were told the boxes would not be ready until 10am. several of the people i talked to on the phone with uhaul just seemed in a hurry to get me off the line, or they were just a polite voice to answer the phone. if every little thing doesnt go as planned, they have no idea how to fix problems. be prepared to to do half the work for them. expect the worst and hope for the best.

The best U-Haul experience I have ever had. Two associates, Armed and Ian (the other one) went above and beyond great service assisting me with so many unforeseen issues that arose in the moment. They were patient and open to do what ever it took to make the experience a positive one. Thank you so much you guys! U-Haul Eureka Rocks!!

I know this is "the" Uhaul place but stay away, they are flirting with fraud in their billing, check your receipt thoroughly, take a photo of the gas gage (I did fortunately) and watch for bogus return fees and blanket charges. I haven't disputed a credit card charge in years, but this was scammy enough I'm going to.

BEWARE...had an appointment for 12:30 for a hitch install w/brake controller, drove 3 hours one way to get there. Upon arrival and waiting, was told my hitch did not arrive. No phone call, email not text the day prior to let me know, just an appointment for nothing. Wasted 6 hours of my day and a tank of gas in an E350. The staff looks young and by the way things were being handled they are also inexperienced, won't let them touch my vehicle. The manager couldn't have cared less and acted nonchalant about the whole situation. THESE PEOPLE ARE CLOWNS. Should have read the reviews prior to coming, all the negative reviews are quite accurate.

I have 2 complaints for U-Haul Moving & Storage of Eureka: If you buy something there you can't return it unless you have your receipt. I bought a trailer hitch pin but ended up not using it. I never used it or took it out of it packaging. The second complaint I have is the amount of time it took to get a propane tank filled. I waited over 30 minutes because there was only 1 employee on duty. He was a nice guy but he was trying to rent U-haul vehicles, answer the phone, sell store items, fill propane tanks, rent storerooms, etc. Way too much work for 1 person.

I rented a small trailer overnight, everything went smoothly. The staff were informed and courteous, and handled all connections themselves on departure and return. Most importantly, they had proper covid prevention measures in place for customers, and the staff were respectful of boundaries.

Terrible experience. Customer beware, they charge you a cleaning fee for leaving a cup. They also charged me for fuel even though it was brought back fill. I was told I would receive a call, never did. Who ever Armen Andonian is, he won t pick up a phone to resolve this

2nd time I have been overcharged at this location. First time I was charged $40 for a tow hitch or something ridiculous. I had gone in there for boxes, tape, and packing paper. I had to make a trip back to get a refund. This time, I rented a truck as a temporary vehicle for my son's whose car was in the shop unexpectedly. I was given a quote over the phone. When the vehicle was picked up, they had tacked on $30 in insurance which I did not authorize. I didn't see the charge until I got the receipt after it was all done and over with. They won't discuss with me because it's not my contract. Yet I am the one that set it up and paid. Absolutely the worst customer service ever!!! And they are cheats as far as I can tell.

No wonder it s 3 stars that s a bit much for this trash place. What a scam they claim we scratch that piece they call a u-haul that thing is older then queen Elizabeth the paint is coming off by the touch they scammed my dad into 300 for a dam scratch that was already their I was even saying they better not think it was use don t come to this garbage place!!!! I will be coming Back for my dads money.

Complete scammers. They continue to take reviews down so people can't see that they are in desperate need of money and will fight you and lie to you about the gas. Also be careful if their ap isn't working when you go to pick up the vehicle they lie and make charges to you for gas they claim you used. Have pictures and receipts with times, dates, mile all accounted for. Very poor management and staff do not know what they are doing. Rude, arrogant and clearly need the money. I have never seen a company so desperate for 20.00 from their customers that they will go to any length to get it. Scammer alert.

Truck drove and ran very good. Steering wheel was not adjustable so that made it somewhat uncomfortable driving 1700 miles, otherwise, I was pleased.

Watch out! I bought some boxes, they were unused and they would not let me return them because i did not have my reciept robbery. Also they do not prorate your month if you leave early. Rainbow storage is better.

Not sure if this U-Haul place knows anything about customer service. I just sat on hold after 30 minutes called back to sit on hold for another additional 12 minutes no one helped me with a trailer I was trying to rent. I believe who ever is managing this place needs to be fired. Someone needs to come on to this U-Haul place and do some proper training because clearly there not trying to do any work here at all.

After I signed all the papers and gave them the money ,they informed me that if ,at anytime, I forgot to scan my card when I come or go off the property that it would trigger an alarm which would cost me a $50 fee.I decided to go ahead and rent the unit anyway.every time I went to my storage unit , the alarm would go off every time I opened and shut the door, even though I scanned the card.Also,according to the assistant manager their climate controlled units mean : the climate controls the temperature of the units This Place Sucks/ I got a refund and went somewhere else.
