Moonlight Motors goes above and beyond everytime I take my car in. They let me know what is happening at every step of the process. They do a beautiful job with repairs, they are incredibly thoughtful. When I was sick and couldn t get there to pick up my car, they brought it to me at home. The customer service is truly amazing. No need to go anywhere else. I trust them completely. They are all great!

Took my car in for a smog issue another shop hadn t been able to figure out. Car was done in 24 hours. They have an app that keeps you updated on the work. The work was great. People were great. Facility was great. 100% positive experience.

Front desk lady was so nice!But the report about the car's condition was very strange. The cabin air filter was considered dirty based on the mileage, not the actual condition Also, the beefy tires with 18,500 miles on them were considered low profile This seems like a useless and misleading car inspection.

Nice, sweet, courteous, and professional people! Super fast service, my brakes were changed and done with 1 hr of my appointment. Cost of service was superb, definitely will be going back for any other services my car may need!!

I can t recommend this business highly enough. I ve been with them for several cars over many years and they always fit me into the schedule and let me know what needs doing now and what I can wait on honestly. A shop like that is worth their weight in Gold Everyone who works there is very very professional and cool. Love them!

I use Moonlight about once a year on my 10 year old Jeep. They are great. They always fit me in, they have a great communication process and I always feel that the final price is very fair. And it makes me happy to support a locally owned business in Encinitas.

Marty, Rylie and the entire Moonlight Team represent what I spent 20 years trying to find in Encinitas. Honest, hard-working, caring people who take care of My vehicles in the right way.They balance what needs to get done against what I m trying to achieve within my budget at the current time. I love their technology that includes pictures and technical information via a text link as I feel I m informed when I m making decisions.They have kept all four of our cars running solid for many years now.

Moonlight motors team are so friendly reliable and easy to work with. When they discovered the issue with my engine, they called the dealership with my VIN to check if the issue was covered by warranty and ending up saving me hundreds or potentially thousands.

Had a battery/charging issue on my 2016 F150. Did everything I knew to troubleshoot the problem so thought it was something major. I had Moonlight Motors perform major 100k maintenance about six months ago and they did a great job at a reasonable price. Decided to bring it back for this electrical issue and was expecting to replace an alternator or something major. They found it was a fuse that I had overlooked and solved the issue. Thanks for your honesty. Will be back for my next repair or maintenance.

I love taking my vehicles to Moonlight Motors. They provide one of the best multi point inspection with every oil change and have the BEST customer service.I ve always felt like they have been honest with me which is rare. I have not experienced this at the Toyota dealership or other service shops. I know my way around a car so I can quickly sense when I m being hustled. Moonlight never attempts to push me for unnecessary service, although they will likely recommend to replace anything with the smallest leak.

Been here twice one costly repair, one minor. Service was faster than anticipated both times, with full digital report available and very fair pricing. But the BEST part is this place s vibe. Good people, from the front desk to the mechanics to the ownership to the sign spinning yeti out front. True Leucadia experience.

Staff was friendly, however I had a stripped screw for a roof rack to be taken out and was charged an hour worth of labor for the one screw. 139 bucks seems crazy. I went here because of the reputation but I had called around other shops to get an estimate for the work I needed done and it was cheaper elsewhere by approx 250 bucks but figured since the reviews were so strong I d give moonlight a shot. After inspection I was quoted 17k for (all the repairs) my vehicle would need. In that quote a 40 dollar gasket piece would cost e 2700 dollars in labor. As I said, nice people but left feeling a bit robbed and also glad I was able to get my car out of there before being hit with more excessive labor charges.

Our car died near here and since they had such great reviews we towed it there. We couldn't have been happier and sad with our decision. The happy part is they took the time and energy to figure out what was wrong with it. Then Riley talked us through all our options but the sad part is because the car was old it was a goner. Riley gave us options of what we could do with the dead car as well. She did all of this with us living far away from here and we are so grateful for all their hard work and help. Thanks for everything!

Ryli and Moonlight Motors saved our family vacation! We were driving from LA to San Diego for a few days vacation when my car started experiencing some issues. So many shops were closed for the holidays or booked out for weeks but I spoke with Ryli and she fit us in next day. Not only were we able to get our car fixed in one day, they were also very helpful in helping navigate another adjacent issue that happened due to our unexpected car issue; transportation with car seats as we have two young children. Ryli offered a solution that allowed us to immediately have transportation, using our own car seats. The best customer service I have experienced in a long time! If we didn t live so far, this would become my regular shop to take my car to! Thank you to everyone at Moonlight Motors, but especially Ryli for saving our family vacation!

Donna and Riley are both terrific at communicating issues, timelines, and cost, and the team there fixed both my 4runner AC issues, and my Jeep Grand Cherokees oil leak and diagnostic. Would recommend them to anyone near or far. Thanks guys for outstanding service, will see you when I need you ext.

I've used Moonlight Motors twice now, and they're great! They are very informative and communicative throughout the entire process, and they provide a wonderful comprehensive inspection report that shows your vehicle's health with a green, yellow, and red key with photo evidence for maintenance needs. Unfortunately, I asked for a semi-synthetic oil change (twice) and they still did a synthetic oil change instead and I was charged over double the cost I was told on the phone and what the coupon I brought in said it would be. I m disappointed because I thought I was very clear, and when I dropped my car off I asked why the cost was higher than I had expected, they said the coupon would be applied at the end, but when I went to pick it up it was the synthetic cost.

In my opinion, Marty and team are the best in Encinitas, and for that matter North County et al. I continue to write reviews for Moonlight motors now for over 10 years after being treated poorly by another shop, was referred to Marty by a good friend. We currently have 6 cars in our household children going to college seem to add cars to the fleet. All of my vehicles are serviced at Moonlight motors, unless it is a warranty issue from dealer. Moonlight motors is not inexpensive,, but always fair and always less than the dealer and zero hassle you get with a dealer service staff upselling. I have learned the hard way in the past with mechanics and plumbers, you are going to get what you pay for. It it is my responsibility to ask questions and understand what repairs need to be done on these complicated machines. Marty will tell you hard truth sometimes, when an oil change turns into a CV boot and unexpected brake job. But Never a hard sell. I have come to trust that Marty and his team would not advise work, especially safety related issues, if it were not work that really needs to be done. With 3 kids away at school driving cars, I am grateful to have a top shelf shop close to home where I can always get an appointment for service within a reasonable time even over the holidays when the kids cars are in town and need service. I hope that Marty and Moonlight motors are around for many years to come. ( I selected all of the services below as over the years and probably 8 cars we have had just about all of the services offered at Moonlight.) Went in for a general summer inspection and a more comprehensive brake and fluids inspection. The customer service was top notch. The results were posted in a very timely manner, and had a URL with pictures for everything that they wanted to point out. I LOVE this place! Friendly, knowledgeable staff, and reasonable prices. The BEST, most up to date, and comprehensive communication delivery system I have ever seen.I drop off the car and take a nice walk down 101 to the many coffee shops and restaurants nearby. The work on the car is usually completed long before I am finished with my work at the coffee house!I have been going to Moonlight Motors for years now and am always wowed by them. I've been consistently returning to Moonlight Motors for years. I live down the road and feel very fortunate to be a customer here. They're not just convenient and local, they do an incredible job and really work with me in regard to my budget by prioritizing repairs and maintenance. Ken, Rylie, Donna, and Marty are all so kind, honest, and efficient. They always get the job done and communicate if anything comes up during the process. I have definitely brought in some questionable, rusty, and otherwise frustrating vehicles and they are always happy to work with me and tell me exactly what they are doing and why.My knowledge of vehicles in general, vehicle maintenance, and vehicle repair has increased greatly since working with Moonlight. Specifically, Ken is always willing to give me extra time and attention. In fact I just stopped by to triple check my accuracy in measuring my transmission fluid levels. Very basic to a mechanic or anyone who works with cars but he showed and explained the process clearly, leaving me capable to check the levels on my own with full confidence. The key was to check it in neutral, not park.Oh and lastly their online vehicle and brake inspection reports are so useful and legible. UPDATE: They are still wonderful and, even after some pretty serious repair needs in my car, they have me feeling safe in my lovely wee car. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Every single person I dealt with at Moonlight Motors was so kind and informative! They took in my car quickly and took my concerns seriously, and they got my car back into safe driving condition promptly. They also update and follow up and even send a thank you card! I had a great experience with Moonlight Motors. Granted I only needed an oil change, so it wasn't anything too complicated. When I scheduled the appointment, they told me to be ready to leave my car for half a day. However, when I got there and Marty heard that I was only visiting the area for a few days, he managed to fit it in to finish within 1-1.5 hours. They then sent me the breakdown of their inspection with explanations of what is more and less important, and called me up to ensure that I understood. Overall they were patient and friendly, and I appreciate it. Thank you!Service: Oil change

Very happy with Moonlight. First I brought in my older Mercedes and they were absolutely the best. They were precise, timely, efficient and very customer centric. More recently, I brought in my 2015 Audi S5. The service hadn t changed at all. They were all top notch, from the front office to the repair shop. I was impressed with their exceptional communications. This is a good group;, honest, trustworthy and they stand behind their work. Oh I forgot to mention, the pricing. Excellent!! They promised my oil change was done by 2 and it was done before. Calls and texts to keep me in the know of the condition of my car. Gave me a full diagnostic report, explained what was important, and cost it out for me. Then sent me a thank you card to thank me for my business! All at a great price, and with a smile and excellent service. Plus I love the decor of the place too. You have a customer for life!Service: Oil change
