I had my Id4 stop on me while driving 5 times in a couple of months, 3 times on the freeway. I have given my car for servicing every time. thrice at Herman cook vw and twice at Kearny mesa vw. I think 4/5 times all they did was recalibrate the parts and change nothing(or may be they did, I can't remember, but the 5th time they didn't replace any parts), once(4th time) they changed some parts and still did not help. Now, the car is returned and I am so scared of when it's gonna stop next, always drive on the right lane so I can get to the shoulder. vw on the whole has terrible customer service and id4 would be the worst car to buy, even decades old salvaged used car would be safer than id4.Don't just pretend to listen and care about the customer, try really doing it.It's a life threatening situation I am dealing with my car stopping this frequently on the freeway. Keeping it for 2 weeks and just recalibrating without being able to find any issues is inexcusable.

I found Herman Cook s service department by necessity over not being able to get recalls done on my ID4 from the place I purchased the car. Since using Herman Cook (now three times) they have been outstanding. I was told they were very good and Herman Cook service department has exceeded my expectations. The service managers are all great-worked with Alan this last time and had another great experience in getting the recalls done promptly.

Outstanding White glove treatment from every level of staff from start to finish. The GM Connor was amazing to work with, and Annie helped ensure all the steps to finalize the process were simple and painless. I couldn't be happier with my experience with Cook VW!

In all my years of buying cars, I have never had a better experience then I had at Herman Cook VW.Jesus, the sales manager, was thoughtful, kind and provided me with great pricing and awesome finance options. He was so nice and his follow up on my questions was phenomenal and prompt.I could tell from the start that he really wanted to help me.I also want to mention Annie, a wonderful and knowledgeable sales person, who patiently explainedall the features of the car and how to use them properly. She was a pleasure to work with and contributed so much to the buying experience.I will be referring all of my friends and family to this dealership.Highly recommend, don t go anywhere else.

Freaked out thinking I d have to pay 800+ on a evac system repair but they checked if I was under warranty, got me in same day and did it for free! Sometimes they are a bit slow but I like that they don t seemed stressed or rushed. They always do a great job!

This dealership has consistently been the best dealership I've ever dealt with. I bought my first car here in 2000, and I came back because I remembered my good experience last time. Just like 24 years ago, my buying experience was very pleasant.

Great service! I've never been disappointed with the service on my car, from the moment I purchased it at this dealership.There was one small issue. When I left the car, I was told to expect a text when it was ready. The first text I received was sent at 16:57, requesting that I give a review of the service I received. That was several minutes after I drove away. Had I waited until the time on my estimate (18:00), the service department would have been closed for 30 minutes.A minor point, merely noted to prevent a problem in the future.

I have used the repair services here twice and both times I was impressed with the timeliness and professionalism. I know I could have taken my car to another shop for cheaper but it would have been more time more questions and probably not as thorough a service. I definitely recommend these guys the shop. Also their shuttle service so I don't have to burden a friend or family member their shuttle is quick and also on time. Thank you all you there at Herman Cook Thank you very much.

I ve received excellent customer service at Herman Cook VW in Encinitas, particularly the guys in the service department. I prefer this location over the dealer closest to me. Ricardo has been wonderful! He always has a smile on his face and will go out of his way for you to have a great experience.

Excellent service..honest, fast and they give rides home and back. Allan in service department is friendly, kind and goes out of his way to help you. Cook is a bit costly..it's a dealership but they care about your car which is the priority not the bottom line. Old fashion service ethics.

Ricardo was kind, clear with explanations of the services provided, and not pushy about future suggestions. You can tell he enjoys his work and is good at it. My only negative comment is regarding price. The car battery seemed pretty high in cost, but that s obviously unrelated to the service. I would happily take my car back to Herman Cook.

I have bought several cars from this dealership over the years and Annie has been my sales representative each time. She knew exactly what I wanted, and got me a great deal on a used car. Alfredo Alonso in finance was professional and efficient. I would definitely buy another car from this dealership. Can t recommend them more.

Two scheduled appointments to have a front license plate bracket installed and software update completed. Each appointment I waited for 2+ hours and neither item I was scheduled for were completed after attempting two times.Gentleman we spoke to on the phone was nice but service department seems overbooked. Disappointed that I haven t been able to get my brand new car serviced for something that should have been installed at purchase since it is required by the state of CA.

I took my car in for routine maintenance (80,000 mule service). This was my first time at Herman Cook VW. From the moment I arrived till the moment my car was handed back to me, I was impressed with the level of service my car and I received. Everyone in the service department was super friendly, professional, and attentive to my needs. I even strolled through the showroom to see the new models. I was greeted by a salesperson and was asked if she could be of any assistance. I had a few questions about a car which she quickly answered. She wasn't pushy, and was a pleasure to deal with. My car was ready early and I received a text to come pick it up. From this experience alone, I would not hesitate to return, or to recommend this dealership to anyone. Very happy with the whole experience.

Very accommodating, quick and friendly. Ricardo made sure I was comfortable with everything and even sped things up because he knew I was waiting in the lobby. Far superior service to that which I received at Kearny Mesa VW, worth the extra drive time for me.

Service Managers are nice but overall experience is always something that could be better. Whether it s not acknowledging vehicle issues, poor communication to get vehicle, or other random things. It s never a dull moment. It reminds me why i prefer to do our vehicle maintenances at home. This dealer is better than Carlsbad by a mile! But leaves room for much improvement IMO

Service department is amazing. Everything they've fixed has stayed fixed and they've never recommended anything I didn't need. Repairs have been faster than expected. Communication is great. I've only used the service dept here, but because of them if I get a new VW, it will be from here.

I went in for a 7:30am appt for an oil & filter change and was the first person there. I was greeted by friendly service rep, but then learned that service tech didn t start until 8:00am. So, it added 30 minutes to my wait time, unfortunately. I would suggest syncing the earliest appointment with the start time for the tech, and I give it 3 stars instead of 5.

The team at Herman Cook are always super helpful, honest and go the extra mile. They ve always been great at dealing with warranty issues without hassle. The service team are rockstars and I always enjoy my interactions with Allan at the front desk.

I wanted to express my disappointment with Herman Cook Volkswagen. Despite reaching a deal, I was given a 30-minute timeframe with a same-day payment limit for the down payment, under the threat of losing the agreed-upon price. The sales representative's dismissive attitude towards the rusty brake rotors added to the frustration. Transparent and respectful service is crucial for customer satisfaction, and I hope my feedback contributes to positive changes in their practices.

Ricardo generously shared his knowledge and expertise, and saved us at least $500 relative to another local garage.I loved their approach to charges for diagnostics too: if you end up needing repairs, this charge will be deducted from total costs .I know dealerships get a bad rap, in general. (And I ve had bad experiences, myself.) But I really felt integrity and a sense of partnership in the common good, with these guys

We were very unhappy with our original dealer's service. We had been waiting for more than a year to get our ID.4 recalls corrected. I received a call from Herman Cook offering to service my car and had the entire collection of recalls completed THE NEXT DAY.They were also pleasant and professional. All you really want when having your car serviced.

Recently brought my car in for a recent electrical ignition switch recall on my 2019 Sportwagen. I had an 8:00am appointment on a Wednesday. Ricardo checked me in soon after I arrived. I received a text message at 10:30am saying it was finished.Superb service! 2 great service advisors (Ricardo & Alan) at the helm. Dylan was the technician who did the service.It looks to be that they're still a Family run business amongst the sea of corporate owned dealerships out there. You still get that small mom & pop shop at Herman Cook Volkswagen. This should be your local "go to" VW dealership in San Diego County. I know it is mine from now on. Thanks again!!

Amazing service, transparency and integrity. JoJo stayed late for us to complete the sale and expedited the paperwork so we could be on our way home ASAP. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. Well done Herman Cook. Double high fives all around.
