We had a great stay at Yosemite View Lodge. We chose the lodge due to the great location just outside the park, quick drive in and spent every day in the park. We had a river facing room and enjoyed hearing/seeing the river flow. We didn't spend much time in the rooms, just for sleeping and it was enough for us. The grounds of the lodge were beautiful and we enjoyed walking just north of the lodge to climb on the rocks over the river for a beautiful view. Only one restaurant was open when we were there and it was expensive, but delicious. Breakfast was $21 a person and very minimal food, but it was enough to get our day going.

Considering there aren't a ton of options in the middle of nowhere, this is a great option right outside the park. It has creature comforts, wifi, a restaurant, and store. Food was cheaper here than in the park for dinner. All in all, a nice place to stay. We opted for the room with a jacuzzi tub, and it was fantastic after hiking all day!

Basically a very average hotel that is overpriced. It is milking customers due to its proximity to Yosemite, and it s location on the river. Rooms are basic, even suites are just a hotel room with a kitchenette. Grounds are lovely and the outdoor pools and hot tubs are great. All that the owners have to do is please provide better quality room coffee (basically tastes like dish water), creamers for the coffee, and a few tea sachets. For $400 a night, you d expect much much better amenities and service. You have a prime location, now add just a touch more care for your customers to improve your ratings!

Even though we had a lovely stay, I'm giving this hotel 2 stars because they charge extra for ADA accessible rooms (which I am pretty sure is federally illegal) and the rooms have faulty outlets, old tvs, and a very small coffee maker that leaks everywhere. For the location, it's amazing. Restaurant is good in the evenings but the buffet was not fresh in the morning. Staff is overwhelmingly nice which *almost* makes it ok.I would strongly encourage this hotel to review its ADA policies.

I say this place was quite serene, visited between the 15-17 april 2024The place is close to all the activities and trails by car and the room we stayed in had a very nice view of the valley and the river running down stream. Great place for astro photosThe room was clean and hygienic. The room Service was fantastic as they respected the policy of only giving service when it is called for.Truly respecting peoples privacy until needed. There is no internet service from your provider. And you can opt to pay for the hotel internet access. There are amenities that you could opt to pay for such as the use of the pool table and their swimming pool areas. One note that soured our experience was the food at the local restaurant. The prices were high and the quality was not so good. Except for the fish and chips.Overall a pleasant experience we would come again.

The location is wonderful - the river was running high and we were mesmerized! Our room was large and bed very comfortable but the blind in the window was broken and VERY dirty. The kitchenette was poorly outfitted (one wine glass for example). We visited in mid-April and there were very few guests. Yet the price tag was quite high and there was an extra charge for wi-fi. I get why that would be in high season, but not when the place was practically empty. #YVLRooms: Comfortable bed, spa tub is difficult to get in and out of, kitchenette not well outfitted, window blind was broken and dirty.Food & drinks: Only one restaurant, The River, was open and it was mediocre at best.

Yosemite View Lodge most definitely exceeded our expectations after reading all the previous reviews. We were very conscious of this not being a good hotel but were pleasantly surprised to say the least. The hotel is absolutely huge, it's like a mini complex and has ample parking. The rooms are definitely dated and the cleanliness isn't up to a great standard. However, the rooms are really big, comfortable beds and surprisingly modern bathroom. We also had a balcony which had a lovely mountain view.In reality we weren't in the room for that long anyway so it didn't matter. We found all the staff to be really helpful and attentive. Yes it's annoying you have to pay for WiFi ($10 per day for 2 devices) and the food options on site are overpriced, but it's also the best location for access to the park. It is amazingly located and only a 10 minute drive to the Yosemite entrance (depending on the time of day you go). The laundry machines are also reasonably priced and work pretty efficiently also. We only had breakfast at the hotel on our first morning. It is SO expensive ($22 per person) for a very average breakfast buffet but probably the only option before a day in the park. On our check out day we drove to Mariposa for breakfast and paid half the price for much better food which I would definitely recommend doing.

We loved our stay at the Yosemite View Lodge! We were there for four nights total and had a wonderful experience. We needed an accessible room and loved everything about it. Our room had a lovely patio overlooking the river, and it was beautiful. The location is perfect, so close to Yosemite! The on-site amenities were good with lots of things to do (the game room had seen better days but it was still fun). It was nice to have a grocery market of necessities on-site to grab in a pinch. The on-site gift shop was cute too. We weren't overly thrilled with the restaurant on-site, as we felt it was limited in its offerings and expensive ($22 per person for a buffet breakfast), but given the remote location, it was to be expected. We LOVED the pizza on-site. We can't wait to return to the Lodge on a future trip! #YVL

Room size was adequate and rooms were clean . The room was not fully prepared for our arrival :had missing spoons in the kitchenette and one of the lamps were not working. And it a took awhile to fix. Additionally, there is no heat in the bathroom area, at minimum there should be a heat lamp. Towels are worn-out, time to replace them . Toaster need upgrade, no paper towel provided, and key utensils are missing.

I spent 4 nights here for my first visit to Yosemite and had an amazing time. First and foremost, this hotel is the closest you can get to the park entrance without being inside the park. If you're early enough, you can reach the park in less than 10 minutes. The drive to the park in the morning right before sunrise is especially beautiful. In terms of pricing, I think the rates are similar to the options in Curry Village, where you'll have significantly less space and privacy compared to a room. Unless a minimal commute to the park is extremely important to you (assuming light traffic conditions), I think the hotel is a better option for most folks. I also found the staff to be kind and courteous. The single king-sized room is spacious with more than enough room for 2 guests. The design is pretty old-fashioned but in a remote location like this it kind of suits the atmosphere. You do get a barebones TV, fridge, and (weak) microwave in your room. The River Restaurant was the only open option during my stay, which was a short 1-minute walk from my hotel room. I never had dinner there, but breakfast there was surprisingly good given the relatively low expectations we had. It's somewhat expensive for what it is, but also slightly better than what you'll find in the park (which was also surprisingly not bad at all). Make sure you pay close attention to the open hours, they stop serving breakfast at 10am and don't reopen for dinner until ~5pm. This caught my party off guard on a day we woke up late.My party decided to not pay for the optional wi-fi. There is absolutely no reception until you enter the park, where it remains very spotty and drops off in some places, and this was after I downloading the map offline ahead of time. I don't think this is more to do with the location and not the hotel, and they do tell you this ahead of time, so it's not considered a con of staying here despite the inconvenience.Coming from the absolutely hideous SF bay where everything is asphalt, concrete, and pavement, the beautiful scenery in Yosemite and surrounding areas was simply overwhelming. Even the hotel itself is right next to a large river and surrounded by large mountains, one of the most picturesque I've ever seen. Overall, I had an amazing time here and will be back soon.***It's worth noting that on the last night of my stay, I did see a small bug on the side of the bed. I looked around for signs of infestation or other bugs and couldn't find any others, so I assume it was just that one**#YVL

The price is for the location and the convenience of it being close to a Yosemite entrance. The room we had was old and grungy, sink did not drain, carpet was old and gross, bathroom smelled like mold when I Used the shower, table had ring marks. The surface areas are not cleaned, just wiped down. Comparable to a cheap motel.Went to the restaurant for the breakfast buffet and the waiting room is filthy, dont look behind the plants or the bench. It needs a deep cleaning. In the dining room it would be helpful to get rid of the crumbs on the chairs and it just felt dirty. The food was decent, but I won t be going back there. It is not worth the money. The restaurant or the hotel.

The location is great being the closest place right outside of Yosemite! I love the outdoor patio and balconies overlooking the Merced River I watched cranes fishing every day and saw a bear far down the river one day. The service and location are 5 starts the rooms aren t 5 star but they aren t bad! Everything we needed was there and we loved the restaurant food and the breakfast buffet convenience. The giftshop/ small grocery store on site is nice too! They have a gym which I used and got the place to myself. They have nice outdoor spaces with fire pits as well as multiple pools.

My husband and I just stayed at the lodge for 2 nights. Positives: fabulous location and great amenities (river walk, game room, fitness center, fire pits with chairs overlooking the river, cookware and dishes in loft room). Cons: mold on the shower grout, no fitted sheet on bed (seriously just a flat sheet laid over the mattress), curtains insufficient to block out the insanely bright light right outside the window, only 1 light switch to work both lights & ceiling fan in main room & loft, no bathroom fan, and having to pay a 3rd party for WiFI service. On the last con, I will say I understand the remote nature of the location. However, if a 3rd party can provide the service at the location, why can t the lodge just bring it in themselves and make it apart of their amenities?Service wasn t horrible, but the attitude was more of a you get what you get and don t expect more type of attitude. Did not sense an accommodating nature. For example: didn t believe the mold issue until we showed them pictures, and even then, it was we will tell housekeeping . As in the same department that doesn t know what fitted sheets are used for.Not the worst experience I ve ever had, but we definitely will not be repeat visitors.

Yosemite was incredible and the YVL location is amazing to get to everything, as was being feet away from the beautiful river! Hot tub was very nice after long hikes.Room was a bit dingy and old, especially the bedding and carpets. The restaurant was ok but very expensive for what one receives.

We were very happy with our stay. The River view room is so nice, it s like having your own sound machine. So relaxing listening to the River. We brought some groceries and made our own breakfast in the kitchenette. Packed a lunch for a day in the park. Best part is how close it is to the park.Would stay here again.Nearby activities: Yosemite park

Outdated, the rooms made all my clean clothes stink! The room smelled so bad! My coffee maker didn't work, the curtains didn't open. They got stuck when I tried to open them. The bathroom was so disgusting. I didn't feel comfortable here. I mean for the price we paid, I would have expected way better. This place reminded me of the hotel rooms you pay by hourly back in L.A You could hear people next door having sex, kids screaming on the next room. My neighbors above us had like a couple of kids running and jumping on the beds like it was a playground. You could hear everything! We wanted to get out of the city and enjoy the peacefulness of nature and hear the water, but all I got were pounding ceilings, noisy kids and a moaning next door. Customer service was not helpful and didn't seem to care. I paid just as much as them and they just didn't seem to want to help us. They all had faces that just didn't want to work here and or care about the clients. This place needs to get better! Game room b Outdated, the gym stank. I can't imagine the pools and spa!Water down "free" coffee..not worth coming here!! I had the worst weekend ever! It's 4am and I'm ready to leave these stiff stinky itchy sheets! If you decide to stay, please don't walk around the rooms barefoot. We had to put sheets on the armchairs so we don't get the nasty aroma on our clothes, which just being in the room made everything smell bad! NEVER AGAIN WILL I BE STAYING HERE! I rather sleep in the streets of L.A....well, it already felt like I was anyways!! STINKY ROOMS!!!!Rooms: Rooms smelled. Outdated. Disgusting. Made my entire clothing stink!

Hotel staff was lovely and accommodating and the location is wonderful. The carpet was dirty and stained, the room itself was beat up and worn down in a bad way, not a rustic way. There was something clogging my sink drain that looked like it died in there and was now covered in hair. I told the maid staff but nothing was ever done about it. Not worth the money.

#YVLChecking in and out was speedy and the receptionist was very polite and informative.Rooms are nice and clean. Rooms provided basis supplies in the kitchen for basic cooking. The views and location is phenomenal. The pool and hot tub were great as well. Some people complain of high price, however, their expectations are unrealistic given the location of the lodge. Prices are driven by supply and demand. High demand for that location with low supply of lodging...what do you expect? I think the price is reasonable, even though I could barely afford it..

Yosemite View Lodge is really close to Yosemite and is an easy drive. It however does not have good cell reception and if you want wifi you will have to pay for it and it will still be limited (so prepare accordingly). We stayed in one of the larger suites, which had a beautiful view, comfortable bed, two working fireplaces, plenty of sitting space (which would work even for a small family), a balcony, a hot tub, a kitchenette. It had one of the best showers I have ever used as it had a waterfall feature but it also had the worst coffee I've ever had in a hotel (so consider bringing your own- but it is an old and small coffee pot that uses their filter coffee). There is a restaurant and a pizza place on the premises that is really good and the hotel itself has a small market where you can get food and souvenirs. My service score was low because in the middle of the night a lightbulb crashed down into the hot tub and shattered everywhere. We told them about it and mentioned that we'd also like the carpets vacuumed as we found shards on the floor. When we got back they cleaned the fixture out of the tub but there were still shards on the floor, with little apology and only that they'd tell housekeeping. Our room was also next to the housekeeping closet and in the morning we could hear them rolling out their carts and them yelling to each other. If you are not a morning person this may be a problem for you. There were also some bugs in the ceiling corners. It seems they are doing some updating in the rooms but there are still some outdated or worn features and they could do a bit better with cleaning which would elevate this place further.

Location amazing. But the reason for my 3 stars is because we were on the 3rd floor Room 3023, my fridge didn't work, bug in bed, spider in the restroom, o.o Jacuzzi was steaming and it smelled like something was burning... so ya... umm.. no bueno.. plus I really wanted to try the pizza that they serve here but I was told only wknds, wish I knew that sooner.idk maybe just bad day or room..... not happy about any of those experiences ....

This place is pretty amazing. So close to the yosemite entrance! The views are pretty great if you walk around the property. We saw 2 bears while drinking morning coffee. The rooms are big! Fireplace in our room (king w/ balcony river view). The bathroom is big as well, but the shower was dated. I didn't mind because it had a jetted tub that was big enough for 2. Also has shower heads on opposing walls. The bed is quite uncomfortable. The pizza place was not too bad, very fast! Thank goodness for the little general store. We were able to buy better coffee and supplies.

This motel is for the close proximity to Yosemite. Can't beat it! Hotel room size is good. Pillows are terrible, as if they've been all cut in half and then stitched up. Bedding is ok. Check in was long. 20+ people waiting in line to check in, 3-4 people at the front desk, however one employee was trying to make a upgrade or sale or talking too much and holding up the line and not moving it. People are standing outside in the cold..... make a move and get people their rooms.

Definitely old school, needs renovation/updating. No fresh scent in the room, bed not very comfortable, bad pillows, bathroom also very basic. Not in line with the value of 322 dollar/night. Also first comment was we do not provide standard daily room cleaning if you want this you can ask. Du uh, weird for a hotel? Positives : size of the room and warm shower, also a nice shop near reception. 2 Restaurants pizza overpriced, rather basic again nothing special. The window to the balcony was difficult to manage/close properly, dark inside the room. No complimentary wifi is also very weird.

Awful place. Dirty room, sheets and pillows so old they were lumpy, threadbare and grey with age. Ant infestation in kitchenette, telephone not working, dirty carpet. No proper cooking implements. The "shop" sold not one fresh item of food, just processed muck. The only restaurant charged $90 for one vegetable pasta, one burger and 2 glasses of wine! We didn't try the takeaway pizza joint after that rip off. The whole place hasn't been renovated for 30 years at least. I have a photo of the peeling wallpaper next to our bed with damp underneath. There is no safe so you have to carry all your valuables with you all day. And they have the unmitigated nerve to charge the same as a 4 star hotel in a major city. The only good things were the location, the mountains are beautiful and the very little contact with any staff was polite. We have stayed in 6 hotels on this trip and this was the disappointment of our holiday.

The room was the worst place we have been ever. It has mold on the walls and the wallpaper is falling apart in several places. It has weird finger marks on the wallpaper that is left, part of the wall in the bathroom is down and exposing the rusted out wall framing, there is mold around the tub. The location is convenient but we will never go back to this hotel ever again.
