I took my 2004 Honda Element AWD to El Monte Transmission following several shift solenoid code alerts. Initially, I attempted to fix it on my own but soon realized I was in over my head and required expert assistance. The traits that best characterize my experience with this shop are integrity, friendliness, expertise, and fairness. Thanks to their work, my Element is now running smoothly as if it were brand new.

They rebuilt the transmission of our Honda Pilot in the time they said with no surprises or up charges. We've driven it thousands of miles since with absolutely no issues.I highly recommend El Monte transmission for their honesty and integrity. They are a AAA plus business in my opinion. El Monte Transmission replaced the clutch in my first Element and so I'm back with my second for a new clutch and transmission rebuild! These guys offer quality work at reasonable prices and I trust they will do as good a job on my Blue 2005 as they did with my Black 2005!

Took my 300,000 mile plus suburban here to be repaired after it started slipping. John and his team did a five star job. Definitely would return it with any other vehicles I need work done.Killer price for the job done got the vehicle in and out quick and in perfect condition Driving as good if not as better as new

I spoke to John to see if he could find anything wrong with the transmission in my car. Even though he was fully booked, and was unable to lift the car up, he still was very patient and detailed, and did as much as he could to diagnose the problem. Very friendly, and willing to help. Definitely a great guy.

I met and asked many questions John was very helpful and explained the rebuilt policy and warranty. We took a test drive to confirm my transmission problems. Previous others reviews, confirmed his helpfulness and gave me a reasonable quote. He didn't go over. More than 20 years, plus experience.

El Monte Transmission shop is one in my books for sure, they are a go to for any transmission issue. John and the crew that are there are very friendly, feels like a family and they're very professional as well. Before you give up on your car because of the transmission or if you have transmission problems please bring it in this shop first. They help you understand what's wrong and are honest about other issues involved with engine as well. They helped me tremendously and they will do the same for you. I brought in my 2014 Chrysler 200, not only did they help me realize about my transmission and fixed the issues for a reasonable and helpful price, they also were honest about my cars other issues and were very helpful about what needed to be done. So before you give up on a vehicle because of transmission please bring it here first and I'm sure there is a way for them to help out, I recommend this to anybody with said issues.

My regular mechanic told my transmission needs an expensive rebuild. Went to El Monte Transmission for a second opinion after reading very good reviews on the internet. Spoke with John the owner, he determined the problem was not the transmission but was one of the solenoids that controls the transmission. El Monte Transmission replaced the solenoid for a very reasonable price compared to an unnecessary transmission rebuild. Dropped off my car in the morning...got it back in the afternoon now the car runs great! Very happy with the service and price.

They honored my warranty even though it had expired. There was not charge to replace my torque converter. Great service!

This is the place you send your FAMILY and FRIENDS to. I am mechanic myself. But don't touch transmissions. You need a field specialist for that. And John and his crew are top shelf in my book. Thanks again.

Took a car in with Transmission problems. Staff was really friendly bit the phone kept ringing and they kept walking away from the car to answer it. Ended up not using the service because the computer said there wasnt a problem.
