Nice and clean, good location and friendly staff.Why two stars? My RFID key kept failing, and I had to have it rescanned several times during my stay.I needed to check out early, stepped out to put some stuff in my car, and couldn't get back in to my room. The office isn't staffed until 7:30am. There's an "emergency" number, but it goes straight to voicemail. Finally, with no other options left I called the fire department, and they forced the door open so I could finally get back in to my room! What an incredible hassle!Harbor View Inn needs to fix the key system.Harbor View Inn needs to staff the office.Harbor View Inn needs to answer the emergency number!

Every member of the staff we spoke with was very helpful and accommodating. Easy to find location, updated room and bathroom. It was comfy, clean, and seemed like the rest of the rooms were in process of getting updated, too. We were happy with the room and location for the night as we drove down the coast - would stay here again.Food & drinks: The press Nextdoor was tasty for breakfast!

This is a great place to stay! Rooms are clean, modern, huge satellite TV, refrig. Microwave, plenty of outlets, sound proof windows, do not hear hwy 1 traffic, blackout curtains, comfy beds.. great shower. Staff is very nice. Tina at front desk was very helpful, and nice. Location is great. Right across street from harbor and walkable to beach.

We stayed here for three nights in early September. When we first got into the room my fiance insisted on cleaning the air conditioner vent because it was so dirty. The room was spacious (first floor) but not very clean (someone's used contacts were stuck to the wall next to the bed). The sheets were a little scratchy. They no longer offer breakfast, and the coffee maker in the lobby doesn't have anything dairy free (so if you can't have dairy, you'll need to request extra packets for making coffee in the room). We had ants in our room and bathroom after the first day despite not having any food out (only packaged snacks). The location was excellent for walking to/from the Half Moon Bay shops, restaurants, and fishing docks. Perfect for an early morning charter boat! I think if we visited here again, I would try another hotel option seeing as they were all pretty closely priced.

Julia was absolutely amazing. She gave me and my Fianc� such useful information and was extremely patient with us. We greatly appreciated her specifically. She was very welcoming and kind. Our room looked luxurious with a built in fireplace in the wall with a gorgeous subtle view of the ocean across the street. The location is really convenient especially if you re a food lover like us, everything is about a 5-7 minute walk. Needless to say, we had a fabulous experience and Julia made it so much better

Love this place! Delanie was so pleasant and helpful with our reservation today! Tina and staff are amazing! Rooms are updated, clean, refrigerator, hair dryer, robe, nice soaps!Hear the harbor seals, the press next door, walk to the harbor Our home in half Moon Bay!

Didn't really know what to expect. I mean it's half Moon Bay so you figure it will be ok. Quite honestly this is now going to be my go to when ever I stay in half Moon Bay. There is a few stores and restaurants with in view of your room which somehow has an amazing and I mean just incredible view of the harbor. The giant bay windows even have a sitting area which was perfect for sitting and drawing. The rooms were clean the woman (not no sure if she was the owner or employee either way) who checked me in was warm and friendly. The harbor view inn was fantastic. Thank you for the wonderful stay.

Difficult to rate: Best personel, but interaction with us, defective... except at checkout, the gracious mgr solved a big problem for us. Early checkin; returned to find no parking place: told to park on street, because a later customer had two cars! The large bed did not seem so; it was partially shoved under the headboard; very small, very uncomfortable, until we realized we had to pull it out from under.Rooms: Small.Noteworthy details: Water faucets are reversed from standard! Told all rooms are the same. Strange. Luckily, the shower is single control.Wonderful manager!

Really comfy room, super warm, loved the faux fire place screen. Staff were incredibly welcoming and nice. They did a really good job with the renovations, hotel rooms in los Angeles that charge three times the amount don't have any of the things they offered like a microwave, robes, slippers, mini fridge, even ear plugs. We didn't have any issues with noise. Bed was a little hard but honestly still really nice especially for the price. I love little inns like this and usually I just expect it to be clean but they thought of everything. Shower was amazing. Even though it's not right on the water, which hotels will charge an extra 200 a night for, it was a great location, amazing cafe next door, gas station/liquor store across the road as well as a pizza place. Can walk to the harbor and all the restaurants. Will definitely be booking again!!

We so enjoyed our stay the the Inn. The restructuring room they did is like day and night compared to our stay in the past. Blue lighting at night really helps sleep and like we have been told by the sleep hygiene folks. Bed great comfort. Quick really good WiFi. Thanks

The young lady at the front desk was kind and helpful. She made us feel welcomed. Her kindness and professional were wonderful.Nearby activities: Across from shops ,bay,food.Safety: Well lit up, we took a good walk nice areaWalkability: Yes safe to walk.

Location was amazing. Easy walk to restaurants and the water. Great coffee shop nearby. Rooms are updated and comfortable. Nice staff. Solid place and great for a one night stay rather than slogging it back home after a full day at half moon bay

Really great place and easy walking distance to the wedding we are attending.This place has been remodeled, it s very nice and clean! Kind staff etc Highly recommend staying here especially if it s walking distance to where you wanna be

Great little hotel with a view of the bay! Walking distance to the marina and Mavericks. Everything is very nice and clean inside. Great shower! And great location! And they allow pets! $40 extra per night, but our dog enjoyed the stay too.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Harbor View Inn. We had a room on the second floor that provided a nice view of the Pacific Ocean. The cathedral ceiling was nice and the bed very comfy. The bed linens were soft and fresh.We lliked the central location, which provided a good base of operations for travel between San Francisco and Carmel.The rates were reasonable for the accommodations, and I would definitely return on my next trip to the area.

So I really was disappointed in this hotel. My family stayed for 3 nights 4 days and we had a great time fishing and spending time on the beach. We never had room service because we just cleaned up everything on our on. I have 4 kids so it just is easy plus im not really comfortable with anyone coming in and out of our room. Plus the woman two doors down had two large dog in her room and they (room srevice)were mopping the floors with towels that were filled with urine. So we just cleaned up behind ourselves literally. Took our garbage out sweeping the floor ect. We used a couple towels at the beach and on our last night my two year old son got sick from something he ate and threw up so I used the beach towels to clean it up. I rinsed them and did my best to get the to clean the towels up.(Bare with me I know this is a long review) So we check out and the next day I was charged $118.00 for two towels and a bed sheet. That they said was too dirty to use again. I get it I could understand $50-$60 but $118???? I just really hope the new towels they bought with my $118 are worth this review. Btw the young lady at the front desk looked like she was bored and hated her job. I wish I was informed before I checked out. Otherwise Halfmoon bay was great to us.

Over priced for motel 6 quality of a room. Carpets were stained. Wallpaper was dirty. Old pop corn ceilings. Cobb webs in the corners. Couldn't see out the windows very well (moisture in between double pain windows), bathroom vanity being supported by an old water stained piece of wood. The room was right next to the ice machine. All night long the ice machine kept cycling making this terrible noise that kept me awake. Also, heavy traffic noise most of the time. .

Completely overpriced motel. I had to book this motel due to the wildfires in Santa Rosa and the price was completely unreasonable but I did not have many options. After I returned to my home and was able reflect, I checked the room prices and realized that I was charged a rate completely out of line with all other dates. I rang the motel to complain ( I also complained the morning of checkout but was not in the state of mind to debate) and the response I got was too bad. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem paying a fair rate for a decent motel but the motel room was shabby, dirty bathroom and a pathetic breakfast from a fridge in the hotel lobby. What's incredibly interesting is that many people seem to have had the same experience but only the "good" reviews make the hotel website page. Do not get ripped off, there are plenty other hotels in the area which are much better
