I brought in my Dodge Dakota as it was making a funny noise in the rear of the truck, assuming it was the rear differential. After Jeff drove and confirmed, he suggested to replace plus a few more repairs. The repairs were made and the truck is driving like new. Excellent workmanship. What was more impressive was M.I.T. friendly service (Thank you Darlene), transparency, and willing to work with my schedule to get my truck on the road as soon as possible. I would highly recommend them. Thank you again M.I.T.

Nothing but great things to say about MIT ..their work and their staff! I had a 4.5 BDS lift kit installed on my 06 Duramax, some upper control arms, in addition to some new steering components .a steering stabilizer, upgraded pitman/idler arms and tie rods. From start to finish they listened to what I had to say, and we worked together to find the best answers to my needs .this took some back and fourth, but they were very patient w/me and great to work with! There were a few other minor repairs or replacements needed they found along the way. They reached out to let me know what was needed now vs what could wait, and let me make the call while they were in there.I would time and time again recommend MIT, and can t wait to bring our other rides their way to get them dialed in! I had my Jeep Dana 300 transfer case rebuilt by another transfer case shop located in spring valley. They failed 5 times in a row to make it be able to shift at all. I had to pull and reinstall my transfer case 5 times due to their incompetence and MIT took it in one time and got it all dialed in perfect even after the other shop lost the original parts. My transfer case shifts easier than it ever has and having the peace of mind knowing every time I touch it, it will shift perfectly is worth its weight in gold! I recommend MIT if you need any driveline repair as they are extremely knowledgeable, fair, and professional.

I was referred over to Jeff at M.I.T. for repairs on my 1999 TJ after I broke a bracket on my rear axle. I had an up coming trip to Moab, UT where I planned to drive my Jeep the whole way. Even with my tight deadline they fit me in and did incredible work. Pictures of the welding do not do it justice, I bet the repairs outlast the rest of my Jeep. Please note, this is NOT a daily driver and I beat my Jeep HARD. I never back down from an obstacle and I never take a bypass. Their work is stout. It is very important to me that it is fixed properly as often times I bring my daughters with me on adventures. This shop does not disappoint. See Kenny when you get there and his smile and greeting will change your day. Such good people here.Photos of me in Moab after repairs, jeep is waiving :)Services: Steering & suspension repair, Vehicle Inspection

Brought my jeep grand Cherokee limited years back because it felt like it was slipping. They checked it out and said it was the rear differential. They came highly recommended so I figured they knew what doing. Get jeep back and it s not fixed. Bring it back and they said it must be the transfer case. I was disappointed because I just paid 2k to fix my rear end the was not the problem. I guess they didn t like that I was not happy about wasting 2k and about to spend another 2k on the transfers case. So I leave it there and they just let it sit for 3 weeks. I needed my jeep because it my only vehicle so I was asking them how much longer. And the entire time I m respectful through this whole thing, I just need information on how much longer. Well they finally finish it and the guy who I was talking to was the owner and he goes back to get my truck. He gives it back and I start my drive home. And I m driving out of state too. I was there on a road trip. So I get back home and I have my mechanic check my transfer case and rear end. Well the transfer case plug is so tight, he has to use heat to break it loose. He gets the plug off and it s empty! Later I put it all together that the owner didn t like I wasn t happy about wasting 2k on the differential. I wasn t ignorant, I was spending a lot off money. So when it was finally ready I was there to get my jeep and he went back and drained it out the fluid then tightened it with an impact. I assume he did this because I went back in the shop to get my truck and the mechanics were looking at me real weird like the owner just did something and they looked shocked. I put this all together when the transfer case was empty when I got home I remembered the look on the mechanics faces when the owner went back to get my truck. The place seemed real good and another mechanic suggested to take it there that they were the best. I understand they misdiagnosed the problem and yes the transfer case took 3 weeks because the owner didn t like me I guess, but to sabotage my truck hoping I break down on the road because I won t be in town for the warranty is messed up! And while I m there this kid working there kept saying this is a ma and pa shop. You don t have to worry. Well truck made it back a 1000miles with an empty transfer case.

There s no one I trust more with my Jeep than the guys at MIT. They ve done two separate gear changes in my JK and LJ, overhauled the rear axle in my LJ and recently overhauled the transmission in my TJ. I haven t had a single issue with any of the work they ve done and Kenny, who does most of the quoting, might be the nicest and most friendly guy I ve ever met. Jeff, the owner, does a lot of the work in the shop himself and saved all the parts from my transmission overhaul just so he could show me what was wrong one piece at a time. You can t go wrong with MIT.

Highly recommended. They have re-geared my ram 2500, built a custom axle for my prerunner as well as ripped out the AWD system in it and installed a twin stick transfer case. Kenny always remembered to handle any questions and concerns with speed. Between Kenny and Jeff I got exactly what I wanted. They are not cheap but the quality speaks for itself.

My truck had a terrible shake that I suspected came from the driveshaft and/or universal joints. After setting up an appointment with the folks at this shop, they confirmed my suspicions. From the very first phone call, to actually walking in the shop, the staff was professional and polite. They took the time to explain how they would tackle the problem and gave me a detailed quote. A few days into the repair, they called me to let me know that the fee would be less than the quote, which was a pleasant surprise.I've had my truck back for a couple weeks now, and I can honestly say it's a night and day difference. It feels great! It was nice doing business with M.I.T., and I would absolutely recommend them.

When M.I.T. Builds an off road beast, it s built to last. I am the 3rd owner of a TJ that was heavily modified in 06/07. It has seen a lot of desert off Roading in Cali and now Arizona. It has been reliable and takes what we throw at it. Recently needed some info on the Ford 8.8 that is in it. Called over and they had all the build info and quickly got the answer I needed, which had stumped your usual auto parts locations.Soon this Jeep will wheel its way to BC Canada with confidence. Reliable build plus customer service a decade + later. Can t ask for much more.Services: Exhaust, Tires, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Body & Trim, Wheel alignment

I have had a very nice business relationship with MIT drivetrain!I am a paralyzed veteran who has always wanted to own a Jeep. I was fortunate enough to purchase a launch edition Gladiator because it enabled me to own a Jeep and still carry my 500 lb off-road wheelchair. The only problem was that it was difficult for me to transfer into my Gladiator from my wheelchair. This is where Jeff, Kenny and Kathy at MIT Drivetrains came to my rescue and helped make my dream of owning a Jeep come true. They were very helpful by installing an Off-road Only/ Airock airbag system that lets the ride height come down to my wheel chairs seat height. They have been professional and generous with their time and I highly recommend them for your Jeep dreams. They have treated me very well and I look forward to returning for some future additions to my Gladiator.

We were gearing up in the area for a 6 month overlanding trip in Mexico when I noticed our u-joint was failing on the rear axle and we had a smaller issue in the front...The team at M.I.T. took us in for an emergency last minute repair on the u-joint which really saved our butts that day as we had left our motorcycle and other items at our campsite in Cleveland national forest and the vehicle had become unsafe to drive. The service was excellent, fast, and reliable which can be hard to find these days. The following week they took us in to do maintenance and repairs on the front end and also did not disappoint... They took care of us like family and gave us the confidence needed to make our upcoming trip safe and memorable. Thanks M.I.T.!!!!

Decades of wrenching have afforded me, for the most part, a well tuned spidey sense to detect when I'm in the presence of highly refined BS or deeply refined technical knowledge. I detect the latter here. My needs are simply defined but perhaps not so simply filled. I want my Jeep to carry my wife and I up rocky hills without breaking.Jeff and Kenny spent 30 minutes with me at closing time, talked to me in terms I could understand, and proposed a solution that shaved 42% off a competitor's estimate with solid explanations why their solution is preferable to me.Install is scheduled next week. I'll update after break-in and testing. My biggest worry at this point is my savings will be devoured by that sweet looking Atlas they have perched in their lobby like a fresh sardine to a tuna.Update. Picked up Jeep. No up-selling. They pointed out a few worn parts and replaced them with very reasonable pricing. I had excluded wiring the locker and I'm not 100% sure I picked the right spot for the switch. I think I'm going to add a pilot on the dash off the 12v to the diff as both confirmation and reminder that it's locked, as I can't see the switch's pilot light where I put it. Besides not visible it's a great spot. In reach and not going to be hit accidentally. They graciously gave me a window sticker, which is on moth balls pending a 6 month real world test. VERY happy so far. I hope I'm proud to run their sticker in 6 months.UPDATE: 1-18-2022 Took the first serious trails this weekend at Superstition with SD 4 Wheelers. Did one of the Black Cat runs which was challenging. The E-locker they recommended for the rear is a hard locker and I ran it locked. No issues. The TruTrac up front is what impressed me. I had NO problems getting it to lock with no effort AT ALL. It felt the same as a hard locker to me. I'm glad I listened to the advice given. It was spot on.

Top notch service and business! We had a locking differential (Ox Locker) installed and changed the gear ratio on our Ford Econoline camper van.We brought in our parts and they provided some of the others. They worked quickly over the phone and email, and remembered who they were talking to and working with every time. They followed up and kept us updated along the way.Pricing was fantastic, I called a couple other shops, some of which wouldn't even give me a call back.A+, couldn't recommend M.I.T. more!

I would highly recommend this Business for any Transmission needs, I had my 2005 Ford F-150 rear differential changed out, I went from 12 MPG, TO 20 MPG. I Also notice that when I pull my Travel Trailer the amount of Torque improved greatly, Where as I would pull The Vejas grade on interstate 8, and only could manage 45 MPH up the grade, NOWI am able to go up the Grade @55 MPH with no problem. They came Very Highly recommend from a friend and THEY EXCEEDED MY BEST EXPECTATIONS!Service: Transmission

I have not gotten service done YET ! However I would like to recognize the professionalism these guys offer ! I reached out about an odd noise in the rear end of my 96 ZJ. They told me come right in no appointment and no charge to test drive and diagnose. With that being said Jeff took the jeep found my rear pinion bearing is going out. Kenny went over details with me. I then wanted more options so I reached back out via email and Kenny continued to answered all my nonsense questions. Gave me an idea of my next steps and future plans with the jeep. These guys seem stand up and can t wait to let them fix my jeep ! Will be updating once the work is done. This far. Phenomenal service.Side note. The shop cat is super sweet !

I had a pinion seal leak that I didn't even know I had. It was pointed out to me when I had my truck at a muffler shop. It was recommended that I take it to Mti. I called and a quote and scheduled an appointment. Took my truck and the work was done in a few hours and no issues at all. Thank you guys for great service !!!Service: General repairs & maintenanceService: General repairs & maintenance

Went to get quotes on some things the jeep needs. Jeff was very helpful, and advised me on how to fix the problem with my jeep without having to actually replace any parts. I'm going back to have them fix some things that need it though. Glad I found this place for the jeep! Also they have a shop cat who's very friendly!Edit: So I brought the wj in to have the front end adjusted and some other "minor" issues with both of my diffs. They fixed the leaks, adjusted the front end and she's running great. Got a call from the shop too to follow up on how everything was running. It's been about 2 weeks since I've had the work done and everything is going great with the jeep. Highly recommend this place if you have any type of 4x4 that needs work.

I have taken my truck to MIT before, and was a great experience. This last time was an emergency, I was moving out of state and found an issue last minute that made my truck a safety hazard. After I explained my situation to Jeff and Karen, they made room in their schedule to fit me in. Can't say thanks enough. Would recommend MIT to anyoneServices: Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance

I have had my jeep in my family for years. All of my kids learned how to drive in this jeep/ She has been basically rebuilt and on our first trip back out we bent our axles. I was referred to MIT and they did a great job. Honest and professional. They stayed in constant communication with me about otjher little items as they came up. I will be referring out their shop to my fellow jeepers for sure. Thank you to the team.Services: Steering & suspension repair, Wheel alignment

I have taken my 04 TJ to MIT twice now for repairs/modifications and couldn't be any happier with the work they do, their honesty, and overall quality from start to finish. I was recommended to take my jeep here by a good friend and wish I would have known about MIT 3 years ago before wasting time and money on poor quality work other shops provided. It can be a frustrating process trying to find a good and trustworthy mechanic. I'm just grateful I now know where to take my jeep for anything that needs to be done to it. Thank you, MIT!!

This is top notch service from a company that knows their business. Made an appointment to get my rear end done on our company truck, dropped it off after closing time (the owner waited on my truck to show up) and they had it ready the next day (little to no down time). Very fair pricing and awesome communication. Don't waster your time going anywhere else, this is your company for drivetrain repairs

My journey with MIT began months ago when I towed my jeep to the their shop to assess an issue I was having with my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT. I could tell immediately from my conversation with Cathy that I was in the right place. They assured me that my Jeep was in good hands. Kenny is such an amazing guy who truly loves cars and people. Jeff is clearly Obi Wan Kenobi. They took my tcase out and discovered it had catastrophic damage due to a previous poor rebuild from another company. They thoroughly inspected everything, put my beast back together and made sure I was well on my way. This is a family business and by that I mean that they treat you like family. The work was 5 star and the customer service cant even be ranked on a scale. If you have any issues with your drive line, either big or small this is where you need to go. You can trust them and their prices are more than fair and you can rest assure that you will leave with a smile on your face. Great Job!

I cannot thank MIT enough. They not only took their time to inspect every one of my concerns with our 2017 Tacoma but they helped us find a hotel and tell us about the area (we aren't from the area and living out of our tacoma). They truly treated us like family, this included the shop cat, Mamie! We previously had other shops not understand or struggle to help us with our problem as our Tacoma isn't stock, but they knew exactly what we were referring to and were able to help us get back on the road in less then 24 hours. In conclusion not only are they great, kind, down to earth people who just do good things, but they are so knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. Thank you again!!
